Kershaw (forearm) said Friday that he recently received a PRP injection, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Kershaw has been ruled out for the playoffs due to a forearm injury but isn't dealing with any ligament damage. The southpaw is hoping he'll be able to avoid surgery during the offseason and said that he expects to be ready for the start of spring training in 2022.

Cueto was not included on the Giants' roster for the NLDS against the Dodgers, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Cueto wasn't going to start games in the postseason, and having two days off during the NLDS reduces the need for bulk relievers. The righty finished the regular season with a 4.08 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 114.2 innings, including a scoreless, 5.2-inning start against the Dodgers on July 29, so it's still a bit surprising he's not on the roster.

Strider was not included on Atlanta's NLDS roster against Milwaukee.

Strider made his big-league debut with 2.1 innings of relief during the final weekend of the regular season, allowing one run on two hits while walking one batter. Despite speculation that he may have a spot in the postseason bullpen, he'll be unavailable for the duration of the NLDS.

Wainwright threw 5.1 innings in Wednesday's wild-card loss to the Dodgers, giving up one run on four hits and two walks while striking out five.

Wainwright hung with Max Scherzer and gave the underdog Cardinals a fighting chance, as the teams remained locked at 1-1 until Chris Taylor's two-out walkoff homer in the bottom of the ninth. The only run the Dodgers managed to score off the veteran came on a solo homer by Justin Turner in the fourth inning. Wainwright now owns a 2.83 ERA in 114.1 career postseason innings.

Buehler will start Game 1 of the National League Division Series at San Francisco on Friday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Max Scherzer started the NL Wild Card Game against the Cardinals on Wednesday, so Buehler will take the mound in the series opener against the Giants now that the Dodgers have advanced to the NLDS. Buehler put together a dominant 2021 campaign with a 2.47 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 212:52 K:BB over 207.2 innings (33 starts) while compiling a 16-4 record. Julio Urias is poised to pitch in Game 2 for Los Angeles on Saturday.

Gausman will start Game 2 of the NLDS on Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Gausman turned in two strong starts to close out the regular season and recorded a 1.38 ERA and 0.77 WHIP in 13 innings during that time. The right-hander will have a full week of rest ahead of Saturday's appearance.

Webb will start Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Webb will be on full rest for Friday's start after he took the mound in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Padres. The right-hander lasted at least six innings in 12 of his last 14 starts of the 2021 campaign and recorded a 2.68 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 87.1 innings during that time.

The Diamondbacks announced Wednesday that Cecconi (elbow) will be one of the organization's seven prospects competing in the upcoming Arizona Fall League.

Cecconi's inclusion on the AFL roster suggests that he's healthy again after his first professional campaign was curtailed in early August by a bout with right elbow soreness. Prior to being shut down, the 22-year-old compiled a 4.12 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 63:20 K:BB in 59 innings for High-A Hillsboro.

Manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Kershaw (forearm) isn't dealing with any ligament damage, but Kershaw won't be available during the playoffs, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

It's relatively good news for Kershaw as he's avoided a potential UCL injury, but it's still a tough blow for him and the Dodgers, which will now be without their longtime ace should the team win Wednesday's NL Wild Card Game. The veteran left-hander is poised to become a free agent this offseason for the first time in his career, and it appears he'll have the benefit of entering 2022 ostensibly healthy.

Burnes will start Game 1 of the National League Division Series against Atlanta on Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The announcement isn't much of a surprise, as Burnes has been Milwaukee's best starter over the past two seasons and is in the mix for the 2021 NL Cy Young award. The 26-year-old had an 11-5 record and posted a 2.43 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 234:34 K:BB across 167 innings (28 starts) this season. He also lines up to start Game 5, if necessary, since he's taking the mound in the series opener. Brandon Woodruff will pitch for Milwaukee in Game 2 on Saturday.
