Kelly registered a no-decision during Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Cubs, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings.

Kelly pitched well Sunday aside from the second inning, when a P.J. Higgins triple cleared the bases with two out. The 33-year-old has come back to earth during his last three turns with a 10.50 ERA across 12 innings after posting a dazzling 1.22 mark during his first six starts. Kelly will take a 3.49 ERA and 1.31 WHIP into a start scheduled to come next weekend against the Dodgers.

Miley didn't factor into the decision during Sunday's 5-4 win against the Diamondbacks, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings.

Miley was given an early three-run lead and cruised through the first five innings but ran into trouble by allowing four baserunners with two out in the sixth that resulted in a tie game. The 35-year-old tossed a season-high 85 pitches but induced just five swinging strikes, and he's now recorded 10 strikeouts in 16 total innings. After a poor outing April 10, Miley has surrendered three runs in 13 innings over his last two starts and will look to keep rolling against the White Sox next weekend.

Reds manager David Bell said that Overton is scheduled to meet with a doctor Monday to have his sore back examined, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Bell suggested that the checkup with the doctor will guide the Reds' decision on whether Overton needs to go on the 15-day injured list. If he's able to avoid the IL, Overton would be lined up to make his next start during the Reds' home series with the Giants over the upcoming weekend.

Manager David Bell said Sunday that Lodolo (back) has been cleared to restart a throwing program but won't be ready to rejoin the rotation in the near future, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

On a positive note, Lodolo appears to be progressing in his recovery from a back strain after the Reds paused his throwing program for the past week, but the team is likely to have the rookie left-hander ramp up slowly from the injury. Since he hasn't pitched in a game since April 24, Lodolo will almost certainly require a minor-league rehab assignment consisting of at least one or two starts once he completes his build-up program, so he might realistically be three or more weeks away from making his next appearance for the Reds. The murky recovery timeline may make it tough to justify holding Lodolo in most leagues, even though he delivered two straight promising starts before the injury cropped up.

Manager Craig Counsell said Sunday that Peralta (shoulder) will require a trip to the injured list, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Peralta exited Sunday's start against the Nationals in the fourth inning due to right shoulder tightness, and he'll undergo an MRI on Monday while remaining in Milwaukee. While a better idea of the right-hander's recovery timetable will likely come into focus based on his MRI results, it appears as though he'll miss at least a couple turns through the rotation. Aaron Ashby is a strong candidate to fill in as a starter while Peralta is sidelined.

Peterson confirmed that he will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to start Monday's game in San Francisco, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

Peterson's appointment to the rotation was fully expected after Max Scherzer landed on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a high-grade oblique strain that is expected to sideline him for 6-to-8 weeks. The 26-year-old lefty had already joined the Mets for the road trip as a member of the taxi squad once the news of Scherzer's injury broke, but New York will wait until Monday to formally recall Peterson from Triple-A. Peterson performed well in his first four outings (three starts) with the big club earlier this season, posting a 1.89 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB across 19 innings. Given the severity of Scherzer's injury, Peterson should have a decent amount of leash in the rotation as he rejoins the big club.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said after Sunday's 18-4 win over the Pirates that Matz (shoulder) will undergo an MRI later in the day, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Though St. Louis ran away with a comfortable victory in the series finale, Matz couldn't work long enough to qualify for the win, as he tossed just four pitches before exiting with what the Cardinals labeled as a stiff left shoulder. The MRI should provide more information on the severity of Matz's injury while potentially determining whether or not he'll require a trip to the injured list. If Matz is shut down with the injury, Angel Rondon -- who struck out four over five scoreless innings of long relief to grab the win Sunday -- could get the nod the next time the Cardinals require a fifth starter May 30. Prospect Matthew Liberatore is also an option to receive a call-up from Triple-A Memphis to replace Matz in the rotation, if necessary.

The Brewers announced that Peralta was removed in the fourth inning of his start Sunday against the Nationals due to right shoulder tightness, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Before he exited without recording an out in the top of the fourth, Peralta was on his way to being dealt his second loss of the season after he was charged with five earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two in three innings. The greater concern for fantasy managers rather than the ratio damage he inflicted is whether Peralta's shoulder issue forces a trip to the injured list. The Brewers will likely send Peralta in for an MRI later Sunday or early Monday, which should offer more clarity on his status. If Peralta is shut down for a period of time due to the injury, Aaron Ashby would be the next man up to replace him in the rotation.

Overall Peralta gave up five runs on six hits with two strikeouts and one walk over three innings, and he'll likely see his record fall to 3-2 with the Brewers facing a significant deficit. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, and he should be considered day-to-day as he continues to be evaluated.

The Padres placed Clevinger on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right triceps strain.

The severity of the strain isn't known, but it's not an encouraging diagnosis for a pitcher that underwent Tommy John surgery on the same arm in November 2020. With that in mind, Clevinger could end up spending more than the minimum 15 days on the shelf, as the Padres are likely to ease him back slowly even if the triceps strain proves to be a minor concern. After opening the past week in a bullpen role, MacKenzie Gore will start Sunday's game against the Giants and could effectively replace Clevinger if the Padres opt to maintain a five-man rotation. If the Padres elect to go with a six-man setup, Nick Martinez could also recapture a starting role while Clevinger is out.
