Wright (10-4) earned the win during Saturday's 4-3 victory over Washington, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts in seven innings.

Wright limited the damage to a Juan Soto solo shot through six frames but surrendered a Yadiel Hernandez home run in the seventh and walked Soto before being yanked in the eighth. Soto eventually came around to score, but Will Smith was able to keep the lead, bringing Wright into a tie for third in the majors with 10 wins. The 26-year-old was efficient in requiring only 84 pitches to surpass seven frames and induced an impressive 13 swinging strikes, though keeping 66 pitches in the strike zone led to 10 baserunners allowed. Wright is slated to take the mound in a road rematch with Washington next week.

Gibson allowed two hits and no walks while striking out five across seven scoreless innings Saturday against the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.

Gibson entered Saturday's start having allowed 11 earned runs in the span of 6.2 innings across his previous two starts. However, he shut down the Cardinals' offense and tallied 16 swinging strikes across 84 total pitches. Gibson now owns a 4.53 ERA and a 75:25 K:BB across 91.1 frames on the campaign.

Garrett allowed three runs on three hits and one walk while striking out three over 5.2 innings against the Mets on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision.

All of the damage against Garrett came by way of the home run -- he served up a solo blast to Pete Alonso in the fourth inning and a two-run homer to Francisco Lindor in the sixth. The latter long ball spelled the end of Garrett's outing, but he fared fairly well overall, giving up a season-low three total hits. The southpaw has had a few poor outings so far, but he's held the opposition to three or fewer earned runs in five of his seven appearances on the campaign.

Carrasco did not factor in the decision against Miami on Saturday, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five.

It wasn't an easy outing for Carrasco -- he gave up seven hits (including three that went for extra bases) and retired the side in order in only one frame -- but he was able to keep Miami off the scoreboard through five innings. However, the Marlins finally got to him in the sixth when four straight hitters reached base with one out, leading to the veteran hurler's removal. Carrasco ended up being charged for two total runs, but he emerged with a no-decision. After struggling mightily in his final two starts in June, Carrasco has allowed just three earned runs over 11.1 frames while striking out 13 batters over his first two appearances in July.

DeGrom (shoulder) will make a rehab start either Wednesday or Thursday with Triple-A Syracuse, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

DeGrom managed to throw 36 pitches in the second start of his rehab assignment Friday, and he's expected to clear 50 pitches with Syracuse in his upcoming appearance. It's unclear whether the Mets may elect to activate deGrom and limit his pitch count after that outing, or if he will make a final rehab start before rejoining the big-league club.

Greene did not factor in the decision against Tampa Bay on Saturday, pitching six innings and allowing one run on three hits and four walks while striking out nine.

Greene hurled 114 pitches in the outing, four short of the career-high 118 he tossed May 15 against Pittsburgh. The rookie was throwing heat Saturday -- per MLB Pipeline, 38 of his offerings clocked in at 100 mph or above, the second most of any pitcher in the Statcast era. Unfortunately for Greene, the Reds offense couldn't get much going against Tampa Bay until late in the game, and he had to settle for a no-decision. Greene has had his ups and downs in his first big-league campaign, but he has certainly flashed big potential, especially in terms of his ability to miss bats. He's tied for 10th in the majors with 107 strikeouts overall and ranks fourth among qualified starters with an 11.3 K/9.

Heaney (shoulder) responded well to a bullpen session Saturday and will throw simulated innings in the next few days, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Heaney has thrown multiple bullpen sessions since Tuesday and is ready to take the next step forward in his recovery. He'll also need a rehab assignment prior to being activated, so he will almost certainly be out through the All-Star break.

Steele (personal) was placed on the paternity list Saturday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Steele did not travel with the Cubs to Los Angeles for the team's weekend series against the Dodgers. He was officially placed on the paternity list to make room for Marcus Stroman (shoulder) -- Saturday's starter -- on the active roster. Steele will have to return by Tuesday's game against the Orioles, though it's unclear when he may make his next start.

Stroman (shoulder) was activated from the 15-day injured list prior to his start Saturday against the Dodgers,Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Stroman had previously been announced as the Cubs' starter for Saturday's game, though he is now officially back after a month-long absence. He has a 5.32 ERA across 47.1 innings on the season, but his 45:12 K:BB indicates better results may be on the way.

Sanchez will pitch behind opener Nick Nelson during Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Sanchez made his second start of the season Tuesday against the Nationals and struck out two in five scoreless innings. The southpaw will work as a bulk reliever Sunday but will attempt to maintain his momentum from Tuesday's start.
