Kelly (10-5) earned the win Monday over the Giants. He allowed only three hits while striking out seven over eight scoreless innings.

Kelly kept runs off the board for the first time since June 8 and the fifth time in his 20 starts. This was arguably his best outing of the season, as he racked up 10 whiffs and threw 61 of 99 pitches for strikes. The right-hander has won three straight starts and has turned in quality starts in all five of his appearances in July. He owns a 3.04 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 96:36 K:BB across 118.1 innings this year. He's lined up for a road start in Atlanta this weekend.

Brubaker yielded two runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings in Monday's loss to the Cubs. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Small will start Tuesday's game against the Twins, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Small is slated to make the second start of his big-league career after a shaky debut earlier in 2022. He's expected to remain in the starting five past Tuesday's outing barring any significant changes to Milwaukee's pitching plans.

Gore left Monday's game against Detroit with left elbow soreness, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Gore will likely be monitored closely over the next few days to determine his availability moving forward. He'll be considered day-to-day until further notice.

Boyd (elbow) threw a bullpen session Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Boyd was shut down in mid-June after feeling discomfort in his elbow while rehabbing from left flexor tendon surgery, but he's finally received clearance to throw off a mound. The team figures to watch the southpaw closely over the next few days to determine whether he can progress in his rehab.

Miley (shoulder) threw 28 pitches during his live BP session Monday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Miley tossed a 32-pitch bullpen session Friday, and he faced live hitters Monday with one up-down during the throwing session. The southpaw appears to be closing in on a rehab assignment, which would likely put him in line to rejoin the Cubs' rotation sometime around mid-August.

Small was called up from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Small will return to Milwaukee for the first time since making his major-league debut May 30, when he allowed two runs over 2.2 innings against the Cubs. The left-hander owns a 3.34 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 81 strikeouts over 72.2 frames in 15 starts with Nashville. Small is expected to start Tuesday versus the Twins, replacing Jason Alexander as the No. 5 option in the rotation.

Keller did not factor into the decision against the Marlins on Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out seven and walking none over six innings.

Keller threw 51 of 74 pitches for strikes in the contest, but left the game with his team down by one. The righty has strung together some solid games in July, with three quality starts in a row including Sunday's outing. After lasting six innings once throughout April and May, Keller has six such games since the start of June. Not only does he seem to have a longer leash, but he is also pitching better. Keller has a 2.88 July ERA and has lowered his season ERA to 4.55, the lowest it has been all year.

Alcantara did not factor into the decision against Pittsburgh on Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out 10 and walking three over six innings.

Alcantara left the game with the Marlins up 3-2, but he did not factor into the decision as the Pirates ended up tying the game, taking it into the 10th inning. Alcantara threw 70 of 105 pitches for strikes and had double-digit strikeouts in a game for the third time this month. The righty has allowed just four earned runs in 29 innings this month, good for a 1.24 July ERA. He will take a 1.81 season ERA into his next appearance.
