Kelly allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks with six strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Sunday.

Kelly allowed three runs in the first inning but settled in after that and left with a one-run lead. The Diamondbacks' bullpen couldn't make it stick, sending the right-hander to his fifth straight no-decision. In that span, he's logged four quality starts, permitting just five runs with a 32:11 K:BB across 32 innings. The 33-year-old has a 2.87 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 128:47 K:BB through 150.1 innings across 25 starts overall. Kelly will look to get back in the win column next weekend in a road start versus the White Sox.

Woodford (2-0) allowed a hit in 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Sunday over the Diamondbacks.

Woodford got the last two outs in the sixth inning and the first two in the seventh, with the Cardinals pulling ahead in the seventh on a two-run Nolan Arenado single. This was just the second appearance Woodford's made since he was called up Aug. 11, and he's covered three scoreless frames in that span. The right-hander has a 2.66 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 13:8 K:BB through 23.2 innings in the majors this season as a multi-inning relief option.

Quintana allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks across 2.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Sunday. He did not strike out a batter.

Quintana began his Cardinals career with two quality starts in three outings, but he didn't pitch well Sunday. He threw just 39 of 73 pitches for strikes and left after allowing four batters aboard in the third inning. His teammates picked him up from there, with the bullpen providing 6.1 innings of one-hit ball while the offense rallied ahead in the seventh inning to get him off the hook. Through 122.2 innings across 24 starts this year, Quintana has logged a 3.45 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 105:40 K:BB. He'll look to get back on track next weekend versus Atlanta.

Alcantara (11-6) allowed six runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out five in 3.2 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Dodgers.

By all measures, Alcantara's first tangle with the Dodgers in 2022 was his worst start of the year. The six runs and 10 hits were season highs for the right-hander, who also failed to complete five innings for the first time all season. He's now allowed at least four runs in three of his last five outings, though he kept runs off the board in the other two in that stretch. The Marlins' ace has a 2.19 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 157:44 K:BB through 176.2 innings through 25 starts this season. He'll look to shake off this dud next weekend in a home rematch against the Dodgers.

Pepiot (2-0) earned the win Sunday over the Marlins. He allowed two runs on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Pepiot put together his longest outing of the campaign while limiting the damage to a two-run home run by Lewin Diaz in the fourth inning. The seven strikeouts were a season high, while the two walks were his second-lowest mark in seven appearances. Pepiot has a 4.02 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 36:22 K:BB through 31.1 innings this year. J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports Clayton Kershaw (back) won't need a rehab assignment, but he's still over a week away from activation. Still, it's unclear if Pepiot will get another turn in the rotation after Dustin May made his return from Tommy John surgery Saturday, which gives the Dodgers six starters on their active roster.

Corbin (4-17) allowed two runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out three batters in 5.1 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Padres.

Corbin had given up at least four runs in seven straight starts entering Sunday, so this was a noticeable improvement. He yielded a two-run home run to former teammate Josh Bell in the sixth inning, and that was ultimately enough to send Corbin to the loss. The struggling southpaw has a 6.81 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 108:44 K:BB through 121.2 innings through 25 starts this year. He's tentatively projected for a home start versus the Reds next weekend.

Morton allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings against Houston on Sunday. He struck out 11 batters and did not factor in the decision.

Morton was locked into a duel with Jose Urquidy, and Atlanta wasn't able to put together enough offense in the loss. The only damage against the veteran righty was Yordan Alvarez's two-run single in the third frame. Morton has racked up 118 strikeouts through 86 innings since the start of June, good for an impressive 12.3 K/9. On the year, he's sporting a 164:47 K:BB with a 3.99 ERA. Morton is lined up to start in St. Louis next weekend.

Freeland did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks over 6.1 innings against the Giants. He struck out five.

The Rockies' veteran ran into trouble in the second inning as four runners reached base, two of which came around to score, though only one of the runs was earned. He then cruised through the next three innings but was chased in the seventh after allowing a grand slam off the bat of Evan Longoria. This was the eighth time that Freeland has allowed five or more runs this season, and his 4.93 ERA is his worst since 2019. Things won't get much easier in his next scheduled start versus the Mets this weekend.

Brubaker (finger) is scheduled to start Tuesday's home game against Atlanta, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.

Brubaker contended with a blister on his pitching hand his last time out Thursday against the Red Sox, but it didn't stop him from piling up seven strikeouts over seven shutout innings in what amounted to one of his best starts of the season. The right-hander was apparently able to do some throwing over the weekend without incident, so he'll return to the mound Tuesday on his typical four days' rest and shouldn't face any major workload restrictions when he takes on Atlanta.

Cubs manager David Ross suggested Miley (shoulder) could resume throwing off a mound Monday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Miley was pulled off his rehab assignment at Triple-A Iowa after his left shoulder didn't respond well to his most recent outing Tuesday, but the southpaw seems to have turned in a corner in his recovery after a few days of rest. If Miley is in fact cleared to resume a throwing program Monday, he likely won't need a prolonged buildup, given that he already made four rehab starts prior to his brief shutdown. The Cubs will likely still want Miley to complete at least one more rehab start to prove that he's healthy before he returns from the 15-day injured list and rejoins what could be a six-man rotation in September.
