Burnes suffered a left pectoral strain in Monday's 7-3 win over the Mariners but is hopeful that he'll be able to make his next start, which will likely fall Sunday versus the Red Sox at American Family Field, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Per McCalvy, the early read from the Brewers is that Burnes' pectoral strain is a minor one, but the team will monitor the situation closely over the next few days. Before exiting with a trainer after throwing 85 pitches Monday, Burnes was able to pick up his second win of the season after striking out three over 5.1 innings of one-run ball. His status will likely be updated over the next few days in advance of this weekend's series versus the Red Sox.

Wesneski (1-0) allowed one run on five hits over seven frames Monday, striking out seven and earning a win in the Cubs' 10-1 triumph over the Athletics.

Wesneski covered just six innings in a pair of shaky outings to begin the 2023 season, but he turned things around Monday against a subpar Athletics lineup. He gave up a run on four hits in the first two innings before cruising through his final five frames, racking up 11 total swinging strikes in the process. Wesneski is now sporting an 11:6 K:BB and a 4.15 ERA this season. He's lined up to face the Dodgers at home this weekend.

Webb (0-4) took the loss Monday against the Marlins, allowing four runs on eight hits over 6.2 innings. He struck out six.

Webb managed to strike out six but struggled to contain Miami's offense down the stretch, conceding four runs before being replaced in the seventh inning. Despite initially appearing on track for his first win of the season, Jorge Soler's pitch-hit, two-run blast in the seventh turned the tide in Miami's favor. Webb boasts an impressive 28 strikeouts over 23.2 innings this year -- an impressive trend after he logged an underwhelming 20.7 percent strikeout rate last season. His 56.9 percent groundball rate and 3.1 percent walk rate are also strong marks, but he has struggled to strand runners (60.9 percent) and has a career-worst 1.9 HR/9. Webb will have the opportunity to rebound in his next scheduled start in the upcoming series against the Mets.

Hill (1-2) yielded one run on six hits and two walks over six frames en route to claiming the win in Monday's 14-3 victory over the Rockies. He struck out seven in the outing.

Hill escaped a bases-loaded jam in the first inning and set the tone for a strong outing Monday. He worked around danger throughout the night and the only damage against him was Kris Bryant's solo homer. Hill's seven strikeouts tied a season best after punching out just one batter over his last 10 frames and he racked up double-digit whiffs for the first time in 2023. Hill is lined up to face the Reds at home this weekend.

Freeland dropped to 2-1 after allowed nine runs (seven earned) on eight hits and walk over 2.2 innings in Monday's 14-3 loss to the Pirates. He struck out one in the outing.

Freeland couldn't find any sort of groove Monday and turned in his shortest start of the year. He gave up just two extra-base hits, including Andrew McCutchen's solo shot to open the game's scoring. Freeland had allowed just two runs through 18.2 frames prior to the ugly outing and his ERA jumped to 3.80. He's projected for a start in Philadelphia this weekend.

Burnes exited Monday's game against the Mariners in the sixth inning with the trainer, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Julio Rodriguez flew out to center field on Burnes' 85th pitch of the night and Burnes immediately motioned to the dugout that he needed to come out of the game. Burnes gave up one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out three in 5.1 innings, and he left with a 4-1 lead over Seattle.

Triple-A Indianapolis placed Burrows (forearm) on its 7-day injured list April 11.

Burrows' move to the IL was fully expected after Pirates general manager Ben Cherington disclosed that the right-hander suffered a forearm injury in his second outing of the season for Indianapolis back on April 8. The 23-year-old is without a definitive timeline for a return.

Greene (tibia contusion) said he hopes to make his next start, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

His right leg tightened up in between innings after he was hit by a comebacker, but X-rays were negative. Greene tossed three scoreless innings with one strikeout against the Rays before his night was cut short. If Greene can stay on turn, he would line up to pitch this weekend in Pittsburgh.

Mets manager Buck Showalter said that Verlander (shoulder) will throw another bullpen session Tuesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Verlander completed his first bullpen session since suffering a low-grade teres major muscle strain just before Opening Day on Saturday, and it's a positive sign he's scheduled to throw another bullpen a few days later. The right-hander will need to make at least one rehab start before returning to the Mets' rotation, but it does appear the reigning AL Cy Young winner has a chance to make starts for New York by the end of April.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Pepiot (oblique) has yet to resume a throwing program, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports. "Ryan is just doing one-arm plyos [at extended spring training] in Arizona," Roberts said. "We're all kind of miffed at the slow progress. He's still not throwing a baseball."

The right-hander has been on the injured list just before the start of the season with a left oblique strain, and an injury that was expected to keep him out for a couple of weeks will now likely sideline the 25-year-old until the end of month.
