Gallen (3-1) earned the win Friday, allowing two hits over seven scoreless innings in a 9-0 win over the Padres. He struck out 11 and did not walk a batter.

This excellent performance came as no surprise, as Gallen is currently one of the hottest pitchers in the majors. He hasn't allowed a run over his last 20.2 innings pitched, and he currently leads baseball with 39 strikeouts. Furthermore, the 27-year-old's 0.80 WHIP currently ranks fifth in MLB. He is tentatively slated to face the Royals in his next start.

Lugo (2-1) took the loss Friday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over six innings against the Diamondbacks. He struck out six.

Lugo pitched effectively against Arizona, but the Padres couldn't provide any run support. The right-hander has commanded the strike zone well this season, as he's walked no more than one batter in three of his four starts. The former Met has also kept hitters in the ballpark, with only one home run allowed thus far.

Williams did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over six innings against the Twins. He struck out four.

The six innings were a season high for Williams. He has pitched at least five innings in all four of his starts, and his move to Washington's rotation has been a success so far --- the 30-year-old has a 3.38 ERA with a 13:4 K:BB in 21.1 innings. He is tentatively scheduled to face the Mets in his next outing.

Peralta (2-2) took the loss Friday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against Boston. He struck out four.

Peralta nearly delivered a quality start as he recorded the first two outs of the sixth inning before walking consecutive batters. Hoby Milner then allowed both inherited runners to score, ruining Peralta's chance at a win. The 26-year-old only allowed one earned run over his first 12 innings of the season, but his last two starts have seen nine earned runs come across in 10.2 frames. He's lined up to face the Tigers in his next outing.

Keller (2-0) picked up the win Friday in a 4-2 victory over the Reds, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five.

The right-hander continues to deal to begin the season, as Keller tossed 89 pitches (50 strikes) while delivering his fourth straight quality start. The 27-year-old will carry a 3.64 ERA and 30:11 K:BB through 29.2 innings into his next outing, likely to come next week at home against the Dodgers.

Ashcraft didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Pirates, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander tossed 51 of 89 pitches for strikes in his shortest outing so far this season, but he left the game with the score tied 2-2. Walks are beginning to pile up for Ashcraft -- he's issued multiple free passes in three straight starts, and he sports a 21:11 K:BB through 24 innings, but he'll still take a sharp 1.88 ERA into his next appearance, likely to come next week at home against the Rangers.

Smyly (2-1) picked up the win in Friday's 13-0 rout of the Dodgers, allowing only one hit over 7.2 scoreless innings. He struck out 10 without walking a batter.

The veteran southpaw teased making history as he took a perfect game into the eighth inning, but David Peralta led off the frame with a swinging bunt down the third-base line that turned into a single when Smyly got tangled up with catcher Yan Gomes as the two scrambled to field it. Smyly's last three outings have been very sharp since he got lit up by the Reds in his season debut, and he'll take a 3.13 ERA and 23:5 K:BB through 23 innings into his next start, likely to come next week at home against the Padres.

Urias (3-2) took the loss Friday, coughing up five runs on seven hits and two walks over 3.1 innings in a 13-0 rout at the hands of the Cubs. He struck out four.

The southpaw had trouble hitting his spots, throwing 52 of 86 pitches for strikes but getting hit hard when he was in the strike zone, as five of the seven hits off Urias went for extra bases, including homers by Cody Bellinger and Trey Mancini. It's the first time in five outings Urias hasn't been able to pitch into the sixth inning, and he'll carry a 3.33 ERA and 30:5 K:BB through 27 innings into his next start, likely to come next week in Pittsburgh.

Elder allowed one unearned run on five hits and a walk through six innings during Friday's loss to Houston. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

After the Astros tallied a run in the first frame, Elder settled in for another great performance. He worked around a few small threats throughout the rest of the contest and was in line for the win before Atlanta's bullpen fell apart late. The 23-year-old righty lowered his ERA to 1.14 with a 23:7 K:BB through four starts. He's already turned in three outings without allowing an earned run. Elder is lined up to face Miami at home next week.

Wainwright (groin) will make his next rehab start for Double-A Springfield on Tuesday against Wichita, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Wainwright will throw around 75 pitches in his second rehab start since being placed on the injured list with a groin strain. The right-hander could return to the Cardinals rotation shortly to make his season debut in what has been announced as Wainwright's final campaign, but that will at least partially be determined by his results for Springfield on Tuesday.
