Sheehan struck out three and walked two over six no-hit, scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Friday.

Sheehan had about as good a debut as possible, throwing 51 of 89 pitches for strikes. The excellent start was wasted by the Dodgers' bullpen, which allowed the lead to slip away in the eighth inning. Sheehan hadn't pitched above Double-A before Friday -- he had a 1.86 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 88:23 K:BB through 53.1 innings at that level this season. It's likely he's not going back there any time soon, though it's unknown if he'll stay in the majors or head to Triple-A Oklahoma City. With Noah Syndergaard (finger) set for a slow ramp-up process and Julio Urias (hamstring) in need of at least one rehab outing, it's possible Sheehan could remain in the rotation to face the Angels next week.

Darvish (5-5) yielded six runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Rays.

Darvish coughed up two runs through four innings before the Rays broke the game open in the fifth, led by Randy Arozarena's three-run shot. Over his last two starts, Darvish has allowed 10 runs in 10.1 innings, shooting his ERA back up to 4.74 through 13 starts in 2023. He's given up at least four runs in six of those outings, including four of his last six. He'll look to move back over .500 in his next start, which is lined up to be in San Francisco next week.

Gallen (8-2) allowed a run on six hits and struck out seven without walking a batter over seven innings to earn the win Friday over the Guardians.

Gallen hadn't completed seven innings in any of his last five starts while surrendering 18 runs (14 earned) over 27 innings in that span. Friday's effort was much more in line with his expected standard, as he was able to limit the damage to a solo home run from Jose Ramirez. Gallen is now at a 2.96 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 100:19 K:BB through 91.1 innings through 15 starts on the year. He's projected for a more challenging road start in Milwaukee next week.

Walker (7-3) allowed one run on seven hits over eight innings Friday, striking out eight and picking up a win over Oakland.

Walker took advantage of the nice matchup and dominated with his best outing of the year. It was his longest start of the season, and his eight punchouts tied his season best. After posting a 5.65 ERA through 12 starts, Walker has yielded just one run across 20 innings over his last three starts. The 30-year-old righty is now sporting a more tolerable 4.31 ERA and 66:31 K:BB through 77.1 innings. Walker is currently lined up to face Atlanta at home next week.

Teheran (2-2) yielded two runs on one hit and one walk over six innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over Pittsburgh.

The lone hit allowed by Teheran was Carlos Santana's second-inning homer. Teheran has allowed two or fewer runs and fewer than two walks in each of his first five MLB starts this season. His strong run has resulted in a 1.78 ERA and a 20:4 K:BB through 30.1 innings. Teheran is projected for a home matchup against the Diamondbacks next week.

Hill (6-6) allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits and six walks over five innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Brewers.

Milwaukee jumped on Hill early, plating three runs in the first inning. He gave up just one more over the next four frames but walked a season-high six batters. It was the first time he walked more than three in a start, and he failed to complete six innings for the first time since May 23. Hill's ERA is up to 4.31 with a 73:28 K:BB through 14 starts. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Cubs next week.

Cueto (biceps) allowed four runs on seven hits over 3.2 innings in a rehab start for Double-A Pensacola on Friday.

He threw 42 of his 62 pitches for strikes, and all four runs came via a first-inning grand slam by the unheralded Cade Bunnell. Cueto likely will need at least one more rehab start before he's able to return to the Miami staff, but he could be making starts for the Marlins by the end of June.

Sanchez will be called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to start Saturday's game versus the Athletics, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The left-hander has registered an uninspiring 4.35 ERA, 44:29 K:BB and 1.45 WHIP over 49.2 innings in the minors this season, but he draws a favorable landing spot for his second big-league start of the season versus the basement-dwelling Athletics. In his previous outing with the Phillies on April 22, Sanchez gave up three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies.

The Dodgers optioned Grove to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

The transaction clears a spot on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Emmet Sheehan, who has been brought up from Oklahoma City to make his MLB debut versus the Giants on Friday. Grove will likely be up again with Los Angeles in the near future due to all the injuries in the team's rotation, but after turning in an 8.10 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 30 innings with the big club this season, he won't make for an especially reliable fantasy option.

Los Angeles selected Sheehan's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Sheehan is added to the 40-man roster to make his MLB debut against the Giants on Friday, and he's expected to make at least one more start after, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports. The right-hander was sensational for Double-A Tulsa with 88 strikeouts in 53 innings with a 1.86 ERA, and he's an intriguing streamer with even more long-term potential in his right arm.
