  • Logan Webb SP | SF

Giants' Logan Webb: Earns first win

Webb (1-1) pitched seven innings in Saturday's win over the Rays, allowing one run on six hits and one walk over seven innings while striking out four.

Webb kept the Rays' lineup at bay throughout the contest despite allowing the leadoff man to reach base in three of his seven innings of work. The right-hander threw 20 first-pitch strikes and produced 14 groundballs on the day while going at least six innings for the third time in four starts to open the season. Webb has surrendered just one home run so far on the campaign and has allowed 23 hits over his last 17.2 innings.

  • Matt Waldron RP | TOR

Padres' Matt Waldron: Contains Dodgers over five innings

Waldron allowed one run on three hits and four walks while striking out four batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Waldron didn't have great control, as he threw 40 balls among his 93 pitches and issued a season-high four walks. However, he kept Los Angeles mostly at bay, surrendering just one run. The knuckleballer allowed four runs over four innings against St. Louis in his first start of the campaign but has looked much better since, giving up just two runs (one earned) over 10.1 frames across his past two starts.

  • Gavin Stone SP | LAD

Dodgers' Gavin Stone: Carries perfect game into sixth

Stone (1-1) earned the win over San Diego on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 6.2 innings.

Stone retired the first 15 batters he faced until he issued a leadoff walk to Tyler Wade in the sixth frame. Wade was wiped out on a double play by the next batter, but Stone then gave up three consecutive base knocks to lose his no-hit and shutout bids. The right-hander gave up two more two-out hits and another run in the seventh before being pulled, but his overall work was strong enough to earn him his first win of the campaign. Despite the somewhat disappointing finish to his outing, this was easily his best start as a major-leaguer. Prior to Saturday, Stone had allowed eight runs over his first eight innings of the season.

  • Shota Imanaga SP | CHC

Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Still no earned runs given up

Imanaga (2-0) earned the win over Seattle on Saturday, allowing an unearned run on five hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.1 innings.

Imanaga entered the contest having fired 10 scoreless innings to begin his MLB career. He did give up a run Saturday, but it was unearned. Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com, Imanaga is one of five hurlers in MLB history to go at least four innings without allowing an earned run in each of his first three big-league appearances. The Japanese southpaw has provided an excellent return for fantasy managers who invested in him on draft day, as he's complemented his 0.00 ERA with a 16:2 K:BB through 15.1 frames.

  • Kyle Gibson SP | BAL

Cardinals' Kyle Gibson: Fires six frames in loss

Gibson (1-2) took the loss against Arizona on Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two batters over six innings.

Gibson fell behind 1-0 in the first frame but rebounded with four consecutive scoreless innings. However, he saw a quality start slip away in the sixth when Lourdes Gurriel's three-run homer gave the Diamondbacks a 4-1 lead. Gibson has provided a solid workload for St. Louis so far this season, going at least six innings in each of his three starts. However, his record now sits at 1-2, and his 6.16 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB over 19 frames aren't going to make any waves in fantasy circles.

  • Ryne Nelson SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ryne Nelson: Effective over six frames in win

Nelson (1-2) earned the win over St. Louis on Saturday, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk while striking out four batters over six-plus innings.

Nelson picked up his first victory and first quality start of the campaign with easily his best outing so far. The right-hander pitched into the seventh inning having thrown just 76 pitches but exited after giving up a single to Masyn Winn leading off the frame. Nelson gave up five runs (four earned) over 2.2 innings in his season debut April 1, but he's looked much better since then, surrendering four runs across his subsequent 11 frames.

  • Dakota Hudson SP | LAA

Rockies' Dakota Hudson: Falls to 0-3 with loss in Toronto

Hudson (0-3) took the loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings.

All of the damage was done in the first inning, with the big blow being a grand slam off the bat of Daulton Varsho. Hudson settled in from there and now has a respectable 4.15 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 17.1 innings this season, though he's made just one of his three starts so far at the notoriously hitter-friendly Coors Field. He should be considered a volatile and risky option given his lack of whiffs.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Montgomery: Set for season debut Friday

Montgomery will make his Diamondbacks debut Friday in San Francisco, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Montgomery was not sharp in his final tune-up start with Triple-A Reno on Saturday, allowing seven runs on nine hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. He served up two home runs in the outing. Montgomery got his pitch count up to 71, though, and as long as he bounces back with no issues he'll join Arizona's rotation next week. It will be either Tommy Henry or Ryne Nelson bumped from the rotation when Montgomery returns, and Nelson stated his case to stay Saturday with six innings of one-run ball versus the Cardinals.

  • Bobby Miller SP | LAD

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: To IL with shoulder inflammation

Miller was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right shoulder inflammation, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

A source told Harris that Miller's injury is "not severe" and surgery isn't expected to be needed, while Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic added that an MRI showed no structural damage. However, Miller is without a timeline for a return at this stage, and the Dodgers certainly will be cautious with the prized right-hander. Miller had struggled in his last two starts, allowing seven runs over 5.2 innings. He had been scheduled to start early next week against the Nationals, and it's not yet clear who might be tabbed to replace him in the Los Angeles rotation.

  • Max Meyer SP | MIA

Marlins' Max Meyer: Records 23 swinging strikes

Meyer (2-0) picked up the win against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing just one run on six hits over six innings. He recorded seven strikeouts.

Atlanta had its everyday lineup out there (minus the injured Sean Murphy) but wasn't able to muster much offense against the young right-hander. In addition to the seven strikeouts and zero walks, Meyer induced 23 swinging strikes on 91 pitches, which is tied for the highest total for any pitcher so far this season. The righty's fastball velocity was actually down 1.2 mph in this one, but he still got seven whiffs on it along with 12 whiffs on his nasty slider. The Marlins will get Edward Cabrera (shoulder) and Braxton Garrett (shoulder) back soon, and Meyer faces workload restrictions this season after he didn't pitch at all last year while recovering from Tommy John surgery. However, with a 2.12 ERA through his first three starts, it's difficult to see him losing his rotation spot anytime soon.
