Nelson (2-2) picked up the win over the Padres on Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings.

Nelson wasn't spectacular in his return from a trip to the injured list, but he didn't need to be after the Diamondbacks plated 11 runs through five innings. Nelson served up a two-run homer to Jackson Merrill in the second before Kyle Higashioka doubled in Ha-Seong Kim after he walked. The Padres would scratch across another run in the third before being silenced the rest of the way. Nelson was able to get up to 99 pitches and has slid into the rotation spot of Tommy Henry who was optioned to Triple-A Reno last week. Nelson owns a 5.23 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 16:6 K:BB in 20.2 innings and is slated for a tough road matchup against Baltimore his next time out.

Waldron (1-4) took the loss Sunday against the Diamondbacks, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and three walks while striking out two over three innings.

Waldron suffered his worst outing of the season, allowing a career-high eight runs while also posting the shortest outing since he debuted last year. The Diamondbacks put up a four-spot in the first, highlighted by a two-run blast from Ketel Marte. They tacked on another two in the second and then chased him out of the fourth with back-to-back doubles to open the inning. Despite the shaky results, Waldron may retain a rotation spot after Joe Musgrove was put on the 15-day injured list Sunday with elbow inflammation. Waldron now owns a 5.82 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 29:13 K:BB in 34 innings and is expected to take the mound versus the Dodgers over the weekend.

Walker (2-0) earned the win over the Giants on Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over 6.1 innings.

The Giants got to Walker in the opening frame with a run, but he was able to silence them the rest of the way until Thairo Estrada crushed a two-run blast in the seventh to make it a 5-3 ballgame and end Walker's night. Walker has now carried strong outings into the seventh in back-to-back starts to open up the season but hasn't quite been able to seal the deal. He has a 3.00 ERA through innings 1-6 and a 67.50 ERA in the seventh frame. His spot in the rotation is secure after the Phillies announced Spencer Turnbull would be operating as a bulk relief option moving forward. Walker owns a 6.39 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB in 12.2 innings and lines up to face the Marlins on the road his next time out.

Webb (3-3) took the loss Sunday against the Phillies, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out six over four innings.

The Phillies scratched out a run versus Webb in the second before plating four more in the third, which was highlighted by Bryce Harper's three-run blast. Webb faced more traffic in the fourth but ultimately got out of it unscathed with his day ending there after throwing 98 pitches. Following a dominant stretch of four consecutive outings allowing two runs or fewer and pitching at least seven innings, Webb has now given up four runs in back-to-back starts while failing to get more than 12 outs. The one positive note was that his six strikeouts set a season high. The 27-year-old owns a 3.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB in 46.1 innings and will look to get back on track in a projected home matchup against the Reds.

Assad (3-0) allowed four hits and three walks over six scoreless innings Sunday, striking out four and earning a win over the Brewers.

Assad scattered baserunners throughout his start but never faced any heavy threats. He's allowed two or fewer runs in each of his first seven outings of 2024, but Sunday's performance was his first quality start since his season debut April 2. Assad dropped his season ERA to 1.66 with a 31:12 K:BB through 38 innings. He failed to factor into the decision in his previous three starts despite registering a 1.76 ERA over that span. Assad is currently in line to start in Pittsburgh next weekend.

Peralta (3-1) allowed three runs on three hits and six walks over five innings Sunday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Cubs.

Despite the command issues all afternoon, Peralta kept the Cubs off the board until coughing up three runs in the fifth inning. He took his first loss of the year and has now failed to complete six frames in three straight outings. During that stretch, he's posted a 6.00 ERA with a 17:11 K:BB. Peralta forced 13 whiffs Sunday but threw just 51 of 97 pitches for strikes. His season ERA climbed to 3.49 through 38.2 frames. As of now, it's unclear when Peralta will make his next start, as the decision on his pending suspension still needs to be determined.

Lodolo (3-1) yielded four runs on four hits and two walks over five innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against Baltimore.

Lodolo got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He held the Orioles in check afterward until Adley Rutschman knocked an RBI double in the fifth. Lodolo had allowed just five runs over 24 innings to begin his 2024 campaign before Sunday's hiccup. Despite the poor outing, he owns a 2.79 ERA with a 37:8 K:BB through five starts. He's currently in line to take the mound in San Francisco next weekend.

Gore did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing six runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over three innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out four.

Gore needed 76 pitches to get through three innings, with a second-inning grand slam by Vladimir Guerrero serving as the biggest blow. The silver lining for fantasy managers is that Guerrero's blast did not hurt Gore's stat line as two errors in the inning, including a fielding error by Gore, rendered each of those runs unearned. It was the shortest outing of the season for Gore, who has yet to allow more than three earned runs in any contest. He'll carry a 3.44 ERA into his next start, tentatively scheduled to take place next weekend when the Nationals travel to Fenway Park to take on the Red Sox.

Severino didn't factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on four hits with six walks across five innings against the Rays. He struck out six.

Despite yielding just four hits, Severino gave up a season-high four earned runs Sunday. His struggles stemmed from a lack of command, as he doled out out a career-high six walks, with two of those batters coming around to score. Still, Severino's ERA sits at 2.93 through 40 innings. He's lined up for a start Saturday against Atlanta, which is a tough matchup for a bounce-back.

Feltner (1-3) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing five runs on eight hits over 5.2 innings against the Pirates. He struck out three.

Feltner was in line for the win through five innings, having allowed only one run to that point, but he allowed four runs on five hits in the sixth, with the damage including a couple of doubles and a blast by Oneil Cruz that helped seal Feltner's fate. Feltner was coming off a career-best eight-plus inning performance in his last start but eventually ran out of gas against a Pirates squad that had managed only three runs during the first two games of the series. Feltner will carry a 5.54 ERA and 1.46 ERA into his next start, tentatively lined up for next weekend when the Rangers come to the Mile High City for a three-game set.
