Josh Simpson RP | SEA
Marlins' Josh Simpson: Moved to 60-day IL
The Marlins transferred Simpson (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.
Simpson started the season on the 15-day IL with left elbow ulnar neuritis. He made an appearance with Single-A Jupiter on April 6 and appeared close to returning to the Marlins' bullpen, but the left-hander hasn't pitched since that outing. Right-hander Kyle Tyler was selected from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move, and Tyler will fill in for Simpson in Miami's bullpen.

Reed Garrett RP | NYM
Mets' Reed Garrett: Picks up third win
Garrett (3-0) was credited with a blown save and a win Friday, allowing two unearned runs on one hit in the sixth inning against the Dodgers. He struck out one.
Two errors in the inning by Joey Wendle, plus a hit-by-pitch from Garrett, contributed to the Mets coughing up a 4-2 lead, but they reclaimed it for good in the top of the seventh. The 31-year-old right-hander has been outstanding in a long-relief role to begin the season, and his 0.00 ERA and 0.83 WHIP are supported by a dazzling 18:3 K:BB through 9.2 innings over five appearances. It's tough to project him for many more wins given his usage, but if Garrett keeps racking up strikeouts with strong ratios, he'll still have fantasy value in deeper formats.

Luke Little RP | CHC
Cubs' Luke Little: Serving as 27th man Saturday
Little will serve as the 27th man for the Cubs' doubleheader against the Marlins on Saturday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Little was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, but he's back with the Cubs to provide some pitching depth for their doubleheader Saturday. He has appeared in seven games in the majors this season, posting a 2.70 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 5:5 K:BB over 6.2 innings.

Keegan Thompson RP | COL
Cubs' Keegan Thompson: Effective in relief Friday
Thompson tossed two scoreless innings of relief with four strikeouts in Friday's 8-3 win over the Marlins.
Thompson allowed just a lone walk over his two strong frames Friday, and he kept his season ERA at a perfect 0.00 across six innings. This level of play is of course unsustainable, though the righty could be emerging as a key multi-inning option for the Cubs. Thompson doesn't seem to be in the mix to start anytime soon, however, and his fantasy value will remain limited in a long-relief role.

Ryan Borucki RP | SF
Pirates' Ryan Borucki: Suffers setback
Borucki (triceps) felt soreness after playing catch last week but hopes to resume throwing in the next few days, MLB.com reports.
Borucki was placed on the injured list April 7 and was not shut down for long. However, he remains without a timeline to return, and it's unclear whether he may need a rehab assignment before being activated from the injured list.

Hoby Milner RP | CHC
Brewers' Hoby Milner: Picks up first save
Milner walked one and struck out two batters in one inning Friday. He earned a save against the Cardinals.
Milner took the mound with a 2-1 lead in the 10th inning and finished off the contest despite having runners at first and third. It was the 33-year-old's first career MLB save. He's produced a 7:3 K:BB with a 4.15 ERA through 8.2 innings this season. Milner still appears to be outside the Brewers' main closer committee at this time.

Joel Payamps RP | ATL
Brewers' Joel Payamps: Blows save, earns win
Payamps (1-1) recorded one out and walked one batter Friday. He earned a win over the Cardinals after blowing a save chance.
Payamps entered the ninth inning with two runners on in a 1-0 game. After plunking Ivan Herrera to load the bases, he walked Brendan Donovan to let the tying run score. The Brewers would go on to win in the 10th inning, giving Payamps his first win of 2024. He's sporting a 4.70 ERA with a 6:1 K:BB through 7.2 innings.

Peter Lambert RP | HOU
Rockies' Peter Lambert: Moves into rotation
The Rockies announced Friday that Lambert will enter the starting rotation while Kyle Freeland (elbow) is on the injured list, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.
Lambert failed to make the Rockies' rotation out of spring training, but Freeland's injury will give the 27-year-old righty another opportunity. Lambert has appeared in six games this year, surrendering three earned runs across 11.2 innings while striking out 10 batters and walking six. He's in line to make his first start in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader versus Seattle.

Luis Frias RP | CLE
Diamondbacks' Luis Frias: Lands on injured list
The Diamondbacks rescinded the option of Frias to Triple-A Reno on Friday and placed him on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Frias was initially optioned to Triple-A after allowing three earned runs without recording an out Tuesday, but a shoulder injury will put a hold on his demotion. Logan Allen and Justin Martinez were added to the big-league roster Wednesday to provide extra bullpen depth.

Trevor Megill RP | MIL
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Back from concussion IL
Megill was activated from the 7-day concussion injured list by the Brewers on Friday.
Megill has been sidelined for most of this month after suffering a concussion as a result of a fall when he fainted. He made two scoreless relief appearances on a rehab assignment and is now ready to rejoin the Brewers' relief corps. He could find himself in the mix for saves in an unsettled bullpen.
