Ross was tagged with a loss, giving up two hits, a walk, and two earned runs in an inning of work Wednesday against Triple-A Nashville.

Ross is coming off a solid spring training where he gave up a hit, walk, and earned run over four innings of work along with striking out five batters. The 27-year-old had an up and down 2015 campaign that saw him post a 2.61 ERA over 38 innings with Double-A Biloxi and then, after being promoted to Triple-A Colorado Springs, get roughed up for a 6.96 ERA over 32.1 innings. The 6-2 righty will likely spend 2016 with Triple-A Colorado Springs and continue to establish his minor league credentials.

Dillard gave up three earned runs on four hits and three walks in Triple-A Colorado Springs' 7-1 loss to Nashville on Monday. He struck out two in the outing.

Dillard only pitched one inning in spring training and gave up an earned run on three hits. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2012 when he pitched 37 innings and compiled a 4.38 ERA and 1.595 WHIP. He's coming off a poor 2015 season at Triple-A Colorado Springs where he posted a 5.50 ERA over 54 innings but given his previous experience in the majors, he could be a popular name for a call up if the Brewers have a roster spot to fill.

McGough was claimed off waivers by Baltimore on Friday and he has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.

Just one day after being DFA'd by the Marlins, McGough has found a new organization after being claimed by the Orioles. McGough, a 26-year-old right-hander, will add depth to the Orioles' organizational depth in the bullpen but his chances of cracking the big league bullpen are slim at this point.

The Giants will call up Law to replace Sergio Romo (elbow) in the bullpen, CSN Bay Area reports.

Law missed a good chunk of the 2014 and 2015 seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Prior to the injury, he was considered one of the Giants' better reliever prospects. Law has the repertoire to be effective at the major league level. He will likely be used in middle relief with Hunter Strickland taking over for Sergio Romo as the club's primary setup man.

The X-rays on Johnson's arm came back negative, Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register reports.

Johnson's Triple-A debut didn't quite end when he was hit by a comebacker, but he'll have a painful reminder of the night for a bit longer. He is not expected to miss much action.

Jansen picked up his fourth save of the season Thursday, sitting the Diamondbacks down in order in one inning of work.

Entering the seventh inning, it did not appear likely that Jansen would be needed Thursday with the Dodgers failing to push a run across through six innings. However, a five-run rally in the seventh gave the Dodgers the lead and led manager Dave Roberts to bring in his closer to finish off the Diamondbacks. Jansen needed just 14 pitches to get through Thursday's outing, but it's worth noting that he's worked 2.2 innings in the last two nights. If he's called upon for a third straight night Friday, there is some fatigue risk. That said, there's no indication that Roberts would look in anyone's direction but Jansen's on Friday should a save opportunity arise.

Iglesias (1-1) gave up three runs on six hits and two walks in five innings Thursday in a loss to the Cubs.

It ended up being a lopsided loss, but at least this one wasn't really on Iglesias -- he kept his team in the game despite not having very good command. The Cuban righty's strikeout upside is tantalizing, but he hasn't been pitching very deep into games and plays for a Reds team that's not expected to provide him much offensive support.

Pomeranz (1-1) got the short end of the stick in Thursday's 2-0 loss to the Phillies. The lefty went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and tied his career best with eight strikeouts.

Pomeranz got unlucky as his counterpart, Vince Velasquez, struck out 16 in a dominant three-hit shutout. The 5th-overall pick in 2010 now has 15 strikeouts through his first 11 innings of 2016. Pomeranz has always shown the ability to miss bats and rack up K's, but the Padres anemic offense will limit the amount of games he'll win this season.

McGough was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Thursday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander will be removed from the 40-man roster to clear a spot for Eric Jokisch, who was claimed off waivers from Chicago on Thursday. McGough will likely remain at Triple-A New Orleans, where he's allowed six hits and four earned runs over 2.2 innings thus far in 2016.

Jansen struck out two en route to a five-out save Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

It took him only 18 pitches (14 strikes) to demolish the opposition and record his third save of the season. Jansen's allowed only a lonely single over his first 3.2 innings and appears set for another brilliant campaign as one of the top closers in baseball.
