Pirates' David Bednar: Secures 14th save
Bednar earned the save in Monday's 3-0 win over the Tigers, allowing one walk with one strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.
Bednar was called upon to protect a three-run lead in the ninth and needed just nine pitches to do so. The 30-year-old remains perfect in save opportunities this season and has now gone 20 consecutive appearances without allowing an earned run. He owns a 2.38 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 46:9 K:BB to go along with 14 saves across 34 innings.

Diamondbacks' Jalen Beeks: Another bullpen on tap
Beeks (back) is slated to throw another bullpen session Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Beeks tossed a 23-pitch side session Saturday and appears to be closing in on a return from the 15-day injured list. The team has yet to announce whether he'll need a rehab assignment, as he may be ready to return after missing the minimum.

Shelby Miller RP | CHC
Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Throwing to live hitters Tuesday
Miller (forearm) is scheduled to face live batters Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Miller tossed a bullpen session Saturday and will take a slight step forward Tuesday by going up against actual batters. It remains unclear if Miller will be asked to complete a rehab assignment considering he's been on the injured list for just over two weeks, so his timetable for a return is currently up in the air.

Gordon Graceffo P | STL
Cardinals' Gordon Graceffo: Sent back to Triple-A
The Cardinals optioned Graceffo to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.
Michael McGreevy was recalled from Memphis in a corresponding move. Graceffo has pitched in 13 games out of the bullpen for St. Louis this season, registering a 5.11 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB across 24.2 innings of relief. His 2.69 FIP suggests he's been a victim of bad luck. Graceffo will likely be back with the Cardinals at some point this summer.

Javier Assad RP | CHC
Cubs' Javier Assad: Resuming rehab assignment
Assad (oblique) will resume a rehab assignment with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League Cubs on Thursday, MLB.com reports.
Assad has been sidelined all season after aggravating a left oblique strain during a rehab start back in late April. The right-hander is hoping to be available for the Cubs at some point in August, but it's uncertain what his role would look like at that time.

Dedniel Nunez SP | NYM
Mets' Dedniel Nunez: Moved to 60-day IL
The Mets transferred Nunez (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.
The transaction is merely procedural, as Nunez is slated to miss the rest of the season and likely the entire 2026 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery last Monday. The Mets claimed right-hander Rico Garcia from the Yankees on Monday and will have him take over Nunez's spot on the 40-man roster.

Rico Garcia RP | BAL
Mets' Rico Garcia: Back with Mets via waiver claim
The Mets claimed Garcia off waivers from the Yankees on Monday.
Garcia has now gone from the Mets to the Yankees and now back to the Mets via waivers this month. He threw 4.2 scoreless innings for the Mets earlier in July before coughing up three runs over 2.2 frames in his lone appearance with the Yankees. Garcia is out of minor-league options, so he will be added to the Mets' 26-man active roster.

Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mets' Edwin Diaz: Blows save but picks up win Sunday
Diaz (5-0) was credited with the win after blowing a save opportunity Sunday against the Reds, giving up a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless one-third of an inning.
Brought in to protect a one-run lead with one on and two outs in the top of the eighth inning, Diaz loaded the bases with a walk and a single before plunking Spencer Steer to bring home the tying run, which was charged to Reed Garrett. Diaz then didn't come back out for the ninth after throwing 16 pitches, only six of which were strikes. Not counting the All-Star Game, it was the Mets' closer's first blown save since June 2, which was also the last time he gave up a run. Over his last 13 appearances, Diaz has posted a 0.77 WHIP and 17:3 K:BB in 13 innings to go along with his pristine 0.00 ERA while picking up two wins and six saves.
