  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Effective in no-decision

Patrick didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Cardinals, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out four. The right-hander got tagged for his first run since May 4 on a fourth-inning triple by rookie Bryan Torres, and that would have been enough to stick Patrick with the loss had the Brewers' offense not spoiled a no-hit bid by Dustin May in the eighth inning and eventually scored twice in the frame. Patrick was lifted after 61 pitches (44 strikes), his biggest workload since that May 4 outing, and it's not yet clear whether he'll remain in the rotation or return to a versatile fireman role in the bullpen. He's been effective no matter how he's been deployed, posting a 2.60 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 33:18 K:BB through 45 innings over 13 appearances (six starts) with two wins, two saves and two holds.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Records four-inning save

Patrick notched a save in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Twins, striking out three batters and allowing one hit over four scoreless innings. Patrick entered in the sixth inning after Logan Henderson allowed one run over five frames as the starter. The 27-year-old righty retired nine of the 10 batters he faced over the next three frames, so manager Pat Murphy elected to keep Patrick in the game for the ninth. The decision may have been influenced by Abner Uribe working three of the previous four days and Trevor Megill pitching Friday. That proved to be a good choice, as Patrick retired the side in order to close out the contest. The save was the first of his career in just his ninth relief appearance across 37 total MLB outings. Patrick has worked out of the bullpen in each of his past three appearances and has fared well in that role, yielding just three hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over eight scoreless innings. Milwaukee has an opening in its rotation after optioning Coleman Crow to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday, but Patrick could remain in the bullpen if Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) is able to return from the injured list the next time a fifth starter is needed.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Lasts 3.1 frames in loss

Patrick (2-2) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks over 3.1 innings against the Cardinals. He struck out four. Patrick didn't provide much length in Monday's loss, as he was chased after Ivan Herrera's three-RBI double with one out in the fourth inning. The right-hander's 3.45 ERA across 31.1 innings is solid, but a 1.44 WHIP and 20:16 K:BB highlight areas for improvement, particularly in limiting free passes and generating more whiffs. Patrick will look to get back in the win column next time out, which is tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Yankees.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Limits Diamondbacks on Tuesday

Patrick (2-1) earned the win Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on one hit and five walks while striking out five over five innings. Patrick was excellent early, keeping Arizona hitless through four innings before running into trouble in the fifth. The right-hander opened the frame by issuing three straight walks to load the bases, then surrendered his only hit of the night -- a two-run single by James McCann. Patrick has been a steady presence for Milwaukee this season, allowing two or fewer runs in five of his six appearances while posting a 2.57 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 16:13 K:BB across 28 innings. He's slated to face Washington in his next outing.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Falters in bulk relief Wednesday

Patrick (1-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Tigers, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk in four innings. He struck out two. Following opener DL Hall on Wednesday, Patrick struggled to contain the Detroit bats. Half of his hits allowed went for extra bases, and the right-hander gave up more than one run in an outing for the first time all season. While Patrick still holds a strong 2.35 ERA and 1.26 WHIP on the campaign so far, his 11:8 K:BB through 23 innings is an alarming ratio ahead of his next scheduled start at home versus the Diamondbacks.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Longest outing of season

Patrick didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Blue Jays, tossing 6.2 innings of one-run ball while allowing three hits and two walks. He struck out two. The 9:7 K:BB is a bit concerning for Patrick, as the inability to record strikeouts and the failure to pitch deep into games have limited his upside considerably despite holding a 0.95 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP through his first four starts. Patrick pitched past the sixth inning for the first time this season, and he'll look to build on this performance in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for next week at home against the Tigers.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Three shutout innings in relief

Patrick allowed three hits and a walk across three shutout innings in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Nationals. After Aaron Ashby served as the opener Friday, throwing 44 pitches across 2.1 innings, Patrick came on with a 3-2 lead and proceeded to fire three shutout frames on 50 pitches. He didn't record a strikeout but lowered his ERA to 0.73 with a 7:5 K:BB across 12.1 innings through three appearances. Patrick is projected to make his next start Thursday against the Blue Jays, though it's unclear if the Brewers will again use an opener ahead of Patrick.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Not starting Wednesday

Patrick is slated to make his next start Friday against the Nationals at American Family Field, Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920 Milwaukee reports. After Patrick last pitched Saturday in Kansas City in Game 1 of a doubleheader, Milwaukee had previously been listing the right-hander as its starter for Wednesday's series finale in Boston. However, rather than having Patrick pitch on three days' rest against the Red Sox, the Brewers will turn to the newly recalled Shane Drohan to start Wednesday in his MLB debut. Through two outings on the season, Patrick has gone 1-0 while striking out seven and allowing one earned run on nine hits and four walks across 9.1 innings.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Next start coming on short rest

Patrick is listed as the Brewers' probable starting pitcher for Wednesday's game in Boston, Chris Henrique of BostonSportsJournal.com reports. The right-hander appears set to make his third start of the season on just three days' rest, after he most recently tossed five shutout innings Saturday in the Brewers' 5-2 win over the Royals in Game 1 of a doubleheader. With that in mind, the Brewers could look to once again keep Patrick's workload in check Wednesday before turning the game over to the bullpen; he tossed just 74 and 86 pitches in his first two starts. If that ends up being the case, Patrick may need to work efficiently against the Red Sox in order to cover the five innings he would need to hit to qualify for a win.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Quiets Royals in first win

Patrick (1-0) notched the win Saturday against the Royals, allowing no runs on four hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out four. Patrick's control wasn't the sharpest Saturday, but he managed to keep Kansas City pretty quiet in the hit column. Although two of the hits allowed went for extra bases, the right-hander was able to leave both of those runners stranded to continue a strong start to his campaign in terms of run prevention. Patrick has surrendered a lone run across his first 9.1 innings, though his 7:4 K:BB isn't nearly as impressive. Even so, he should continue to carry streaming appeal in his next scheduled start versus the Nationals.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Friday's game postponed

Patrick won't make his scheduled start Friday against the Royals, as the game has been postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up right away Saturday as part of a split doubleheader, and Patrick will simply move back to start the afternoon game for Milwaukee, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Patrick allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out four over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox in his first start of the regular season.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Strikes out four in no-decision

Patrick did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 4.1 innings. Patrick was handed an early lead and allowed just one run on a solo homer in the fourth, but he was lifted too soon to qualify for the win. The 27-year-old threw 48 of 74 pitches for strikes while generating 10 whiffs, building on a solid 2025 regular season in which he posted a 3.53 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 119.2 innings. He's lined up for a road start against the Royals next weekend.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Confirmed to be part of rotation

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Friday that Patrick will be in the rotation, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Milwaukee has a plethora of starting pitching options, but Patrick is a lock to open the season in the rotation. The 27-year-old is coming off a strong 2025 in which he posted a 3.53 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 127:40 K:BB across 119.2 innings. Murphy also confirmed Jacob Misiorowski will have a spot in the rotation. With Brandon Woodruff (lat) and Quinn Priester (wrist) not guaranteed to be ready for Opening Day, Patrick may even have a shot at being the Brewers' Opening Day starter.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Goes two in debut

Patrick allowed one earned run over 2.0 innings in Sunday's spring game against the Royals. He gave up two hits, struck out two batters and walked two. Patrick was not particularly sharp in his spring debut, allowing four runners to reach base and throwing just 21 of his 41 pitches for strikes. Despite that, he remains firmly in the mix for a rotation spot, and he is a pitcher to keep an eye on after striking out 127 batters over 119.2 innings during the 2025 regular season and 11 more over 9.0 frames in the postseason.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Fans three in no-decision

Patrick yielded two runs on five hits and no walks over 4.1 innings with three strikeouts and took a no-decision in Saturday's 3-2 extra-inning victory at St. Louis. Patrick reentered the Milwaukee rotation because Jose Quintana (calf) recently landed on the injured list. The rookie right-hander was fairly effective during his time on the mound, as he didn't give up any extra-base hits. The two runs Patrick allowed came on RBI singles by Nolan Arenado and Brendan Donovan. The 27-year-old now sports a 3.66 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 119:37 K:BB across 115.2 total innings. Patrick currently projects to make his next start at home against the Reds next weekend.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Filling Quintana's rotation spot

Patrick is slated to start Saturday's game in St. Louis, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports. Since making a 4.1-inning spot start versus the Rangers back on Sept. 10, Patrick has shifted back to the bullpen. After striking out four batters across a pair of scoreless innings Sunday versus the Cardinals and Tuesday versus the Angels, Patrick will step back into the rotation this weekend as a replacement to Jose Quintana (calf), who was placed on the injured list. Though Patrick has mostly been outside of the big-league rotation since the All-Star break, he's been effective over his 24 outings (21 starts) for Milwaukee in 2025, logging a 3.64 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 116:37 K:BB across 111.1 innings.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: No-decision in spot start

Patrick didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Texas, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts across 4.1 innings. A game-tying two-run home run by Michael Helman with one out in the fifth inning ended Patrick's start, as he was pulled at 80 pitches following the long ball. The 27-year-old was relegated to Triple-A in early July, but he's been called up to make three starts for the Brewers since, tallying a 4.91 ERA and a 17:7 K:BB across 14.2 innings during that stretch. He's expected to return to Triple-A Nashville without making another big-league start.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Tapped for Tuesday's start

Patrick will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start Tuesday's game against the Rangers in Arlington, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Patrick is no stranger to starting in the big leagues this season, and he's posted a 3.10 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 21 strikeouts over his last four outings with the Brewers dating back to June 29. The right-hander appears to be in line for a spot start during a busy period in the schedule for the Brewers, so Patrick may not be guaranteed any turns through the rotation after Tuesday.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Strikes out seven

Patrick did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven. Patrick was impressive overall Sunday, logging seven strikeouts while holding San Francisco to just two runs on a Luis Matos homer in the second inning. The 27-year-old Patrick sports a 3.60 ERA this season with a 1.30 WHIP and 106:34 K:BB. Despite the strong outing from the right-hander, it remains to be seen whether the Brewers will stick with a six-man rotation. If not, Patrick will likely head back to Triple-A.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Called up to start Sunday

The Brewers recalled Patrick from Triple-A Nashville to start Sunday against the Giants, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The right-hander was temporarily promoted for a spot start during Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs and will rejoin the Brewers to close out the weekend series versus the Giants. Patrick took the loss in Chicago after giving up five runs (three earned), but he's mostly been an effective rotation piece during his rookie season with a 3.61 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 99:32 K:BB over 99.2 innings at the big-league level.
