The Padres don't anticipate having Lamet (biceps) available for their NLDS matchup with the Dodgers that begins Tuesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Nightengale's dispatch doesn't come as a major surprise after reports surfaced over the weekend indicating that Lamet had been able to play catch but had yet to receive clearance to resume throwing off the mound. With that in mind, unless Lamet is able to toss a bullpen session Monday, the Padres seem likely to exclude him from the 28-man NLDS roster that the team will release a few hours prior to the 9:38 p.m. ET start time for Tuesday's Game 1. Lamet, who also missed the Padres' wild-card series win over the Cardinals, hasn't pitched since Sept. 25 due to the sore right biceps.

Padres manager Jayce Tingler said Lamet (biceps) remains day-to-day ahead of the team's divisional-round series with the Dodgers that begins Tuesday, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Lamet's sore right biceps prevented him from pitching in the wild-card series win over the Cardinals, but both he and Mike Clevinger (elbow) remain possibilities to rejoin San Diego's pitching staff this week. At this stage, Lamet is playing catch but has not yet been cleared to throw off a mound, which may put him on the outside looking in for a spot on the 28-man roster for the upcoming series. The Padres will have to set their roster Tuesday, hours before the 9:38 p.m. ET start time for Game 1.

The Diamondbacks outrighted Mantiply to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Mantiply remains in the organization after going unclaimed off waivers when the Diamondbacks designated him for assignment earlier in the week. The 29-year-old reliever made four appearances for Arizona in 2020, giving up four earned runs in 2.1 innings.

Gallegos picked up the win in the first game of the Wild Card Round against the Padres on Wednesday, striking out two and walking one over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Cardinals starter Kwang Hyun Kim lasted just 3.2 innings and was therefore ineligible for the win. Gallegos earned the honor after making the longest scoreless appearance out of the Cardinals' five relievers (not counting Alex Reyes, who earned the save). He was called upon with two outs and two runners in the bottom of the sixth but escaped the jam by striking out Fernando Tatis. He then tossed a scoreless seventh inning, allowing only a two-out walk.

Reyes recorded the final four outs of Wednesday's win over the Padres in Game 1 of the Wild Card Round to pick up the save.

Reyes' first career postseason appearance couldn't have gone much better. He was called upon to face Fernando Tatis with the tying run on second base with two outs in the bottom of the eighth and was able to finish the inning with a groundout. He remained in the game for the ninth inning after the Cardinals scored an insurance run and got the job done, retiring the side in order.

Jansen walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning en route to the save Wednesday in Game 1 against the Brewers.

He got Eric Sogard to fly out and then got Keston Hiura to ground out to start the frame. Jace Peterson then walked as a pinch hitter before Christian Yelich struck out while representing the tying run. Jansen should be available for Thursday's Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series.

Suter gave up three earned runs on three hits and five walks in 1.2 innings Wednesday in Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series against the Dodgers. He took the loss.

Suter needs to get by on command and deception, and the five walks, two of which were with the bases loaded, were essentially a sign that he would rather give up one run at a time than let the Dodgers blow the game completely open. The rest of the Brewers' relievers held up their end of the bargain, as the Brewers outscored the Dodgers after Suter exited, but Suter had already given up the deciding runs in a 4-2 loss. He probably won't pitch again in this series.

Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said that Hudson (elbow) underwent successful Tommy John surgery Monday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Hudson is expected to rest up and recover for the next several weeks before he begins his rehab program in earnest during the winter. The 26-year-old right-hander is expected to remain sidelined through the 2021 season.

The Cardinals added Ponce de Leon to their 28-man roster Wednesday ahead of the team's wild-card series with the Padres, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Ponce de Leon is slated to work in long relief for the Cardinals, which have already announced their starters for the three-game series (Kwang Hyun Kim, Adam Wainwright and Jack Flaherty). After struggling with his control through much of August, Ponce de Leon settled into a groove in September, posting a 3.15 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB in 20 innings across his four appearances.

The Dodgers didn't include Floro on their 28-man roster for the wild-card series with the Brewers that begins Wednesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Los Angeles is likely banking on Walker Buehler and Clayton Kershaw to work deep into their starts in the first two games of the series, lessening the need to keep Floro on the roster as a low-leverage reliever. Floro still earned a spot on the Dodgers' taxi squad, so he could be an option to join the roster later in the postseason.
