Daniel Hudson RP | LAD
Dodgers' Daniel Hudson: Grabs fifth save
Hudson earned a save after he pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit while striking out two in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.
With Craig Kimbrel (personal) on the paternity list, Hudson was called upon to protect a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth. He worked around a two-out single by Yasmani Grandal, getting Jake Burger to strike out to end the game and earn his fifth save of the season. Hudson has been very effective this season while operating as the primary set-up man to Kimbrel, producing a 1.86 ERA and 0.78 WHIP with 24 strikeouts over 19.1 innings while also recording seven holds and five saves, all over 19 appearances.

Adonis Medina RP | SEA
Mets' Adonis Medina: Returns to minors
Medina was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
Medina was with the big-league club for the past week and appeared in two games, firing a pair of scoreless innings while also recording his first career save. The right-hander has a 4.66 ERA across 9.2 innings for the Mets this year.

Victor Arano RP | WAS
Nationals' Victor Arano: Shut down with bone bruise
Manager Dave Martinez said Wednesday that Arano was diagnosed with a "bad bone bruise" in his left knee, and the right-hander isn't expected to start a throwing program within the next two weeks, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Arano landed on the injured list Monday and is eligible to be activated June 21, but he's set to be sidelined beyond the 15-day minimum. The right-hander doesn't have a clear recovery timeline, but he isn't likely to return until July at the earliest.

Adrian Morejon RP | SD
Padres' Adrian Morejon: Throws two perfect frames in return
Morejon tossed two perfect innings against the Mets on Tuesday, striking out one batter.
Morejon recently completed his rehab from Tommy John surgery and made his first major-league appearance since April 11, 2021. He needed only 18 pitches to retire all six batters he faced, throwing 14 strikes -- including four of the swinging variety. The southpaw will likely work mostly in low-leverage situations for the time being.

Tyler Gilbert RP | CHW
Diamondbacks' Tyler Gilbert: Demoted after rough start
The Diamondbacks optioned Gilbert to Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Gilbert's demotion comes as little surprise after he was blasted for seven runs (six earned) on five hits and two walks over 1.2 innings in Tuesday's 14-8 loss to the Reds. The Diamondbacks still have a need for a No. 5 starter while Humberto Castellanos (elbow) is on the shelf, but the newly signed Dallas Keuchel or Caleb Smith look like the frontrunners for the job when Gilbert's next turn in the rotation comes up this weekend in Philadelphia.

Edwin Uceta RP | TB
Diamondbacks' Edwin Uceta: Back with Arizona
The Diamondbacks recalled Uceta from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Uceta will provide some reinforcement in the bullpen for the Diamondbacks, who needed four pitchers to cover the final 6.1 innings of Tuesday's 14-8 loss to the Reds after starter Tyler Gilbert recorded only five outs before departing. Arizona demoted Gilbert to Triple-A to clear room on the active roster for Uceta.

Jorge Guzman RP | SF
Giants' Jorge Guzman: Pitching in ACL
Guzman (elbow) struck out one and allowed one hit and no walks over two scoreless innings in a rehab outing Tuesday with the Giants' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate.
The appearance was Guzman's first in affiliated ball since August 2021 after he was sidelined to begin the current campaign while recovering from an elbow injury. The Giants signed Guzman to a two-year, minor-league deal in January with the expectation that he would spend most of the first season in rehab mode, so the organization is unlikely to rush him to its top affiliate in Sacramento. Once he's fully ramped up, Guzman will likely serve as a multi-inning relief option for the Triple-A club.

Phil Bickford RP | DET
Dodgers' Phil Bickford: Loss in relief
Bickford (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on two hits with no strikeouts or walks over two-thirds of an inning.
After starter Mitch White left the game tied 0-0, Bickford entered and gave up a two-run double to AJ Pollock. Bickford was pulled after just nine pitches and picked up the loss.

Mitch White RP | MIL
Dodgers' Mitch White: Excellent pitching performance
White did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing zero runs on two hits and zero walks over five innings against the White Sox. He struck out five.
Although he did not factor into the decision, White pitched well, allowing only two baserunners in five innings. He threw 43 of 69 pitches for strikes and lowered his ERA to 3.86. White has mostly been used as a reliever this season, but he has started in his last four appearances. If he continues pitching like he did against the White Sox on Tuesday, he may earn more starting opportunities, though the pending return of Clayton Kershaw may cloud matters.

Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Braves' Kenley Jansen: Save in close game
Jansen picked up the save Tuesday against the Athletics. He allowed zero runs on zero hits and zero walks while striking out one over one inning.
After Kyle Wright's eight-inning outing, Jansen entered in the ninth to record the final three outs and earn the save. While the veteran closer looked settled in Tuesday and picked up save number 15, good for fifth most in the majors, he still has allowed at least one earned run in five of his last nine outings.
