Brewers' Brad Boxberger: Escapes with first save
Boxberger allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning to earn a save over the Reds on Friday.
Boxberger allowed a leadoff single to Kyle Farmer before issuing a one-out walk to Nick Senzel, but he was able to maintain a 5-4 lead and secure his first save of the year with Josh Hader (paternity list) away from the Brewers. Boxberger's now sporting a 2.49 ERA with a 23:8 K:BB through 26 games.

Reiss Knehr RP | SD
Padres' Reiss Knehr: Back in big leagues
Knehr was recalled by the Padres on Friday.
Knehr has spent most of the season with Triple-A El Paso, where he's struggled to a 7.84 ERA in 10 starts and two relief appearances. In his lone appearance at the major-league level Saturday against the Rockies, he threw 4.2 scoreless innings of relief. He was demoted the next day but is now back with the big-league squad, with Joe Musgrove hitting the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move.

Ty Blach RP | CHC
Rockies' Ty Blach: Slated for rehab assignment
Blach (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Blah threw a bullpen session recently and will be able to return to game action with the Triple-A club next week. The southpaw isn't eligible to return from the injured list until June 26, but he seems to be trending toward a relatively brief absence.

Jake Junis RP | TEX
Giants' Jakob Junis: Starts throwing program
Junis (hamstring) is initiating a throwing program this weekend, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Grade 2 hamstring strain that sent him to the injured list June 11 was expected to keep Junis out 4-6 weeks. As Slusser notes, it seems encouraging that he is already throwing, given the severity of the strain. Perhaps he is trending closer to the short end of the initial timetable.

Luis Garcia RP | MIN
Padres' Luis Garcia: Records 10th hold Thursday
Garcia earned a hold against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing an unearned run on one hit while striking out two over one inning.
A one-out error by first baseman Eric Hosmer led to a run in the inning, but Garcia limited the damage while striking out a pair of hitters. He picked up his 10th hold of the season, but it was just his first over his past five outings. Garcia leads the team in that category this season.

Devin Williams RP | NYM
Brewers' Devin Williams: Could get saves this weekend
Williams may serve as the Brewers' closer this weekend against the Reds with Josh Hader (paternity list) remaining with his family until Monday.
Williams has a 13-inning scoreless streak going, notching one win, two saves, five holds and 20 strikeouts in those 13 appearances. He has seven career saves.

Josh Hader RP | HOU
Brewers' Josh Hader: Away until Monday
Hader (paternity list) will rejoin the Brewers for their homestand that begins Monday against the Cardinals, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
He will spend the rest of the weekend with his family following the birth of his son and should be available Monday. Devin Williams is the presumed closer in Hader's absence.

Adonis Medina RP | SEA
Mets' Adonis Medina: Recalled from Syracuse
Medina was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
The right-hander was sent down in early June but will rejoin the major-league bullpen as part of a move after Jake Reed was optioned to Syracuse on Friday. Medina made six relief appearances for the Mets earlier in the season and posted a 4.66 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 9.2 innings.

Lucas Sims RP | CHW
Reds' Lucas Sims: Transferred to 60-day IL
Sims (back) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday.
Sims began a throwing program in late May but won't be eligible to rejoin the Reds until at least mid-July after being moved to the 60-day injured list. It's not clear how much progress the right-hander has made in his throwing progression, but Art Warren and Alexis Diaz are the top two closing options in the Reds' bullpen after Tony Santillan (back) was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday.
