Tyson Miller RP | CHW
Brewers' Tyson Miller: Back in Milwaukee
The Brewers recalled Miller from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
Miller has bounced between Milwaukee and Nashville all season, and this promotion comes as a result of Bennett Sousa (shoulder) and Jake Cousins (shoulder) both landing on the 15-day injured list. Miller holds a 6.75 ERA and 1.20 WHIP through 6.2 innings in the majors and is unlikely to pitch in high-leverage situations.

Pirates' Max Kranick: Two weeks from facing hitters
Kranick (elbow) is slated to begin facing hitters in two weeks, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Kranick threw a bullpen session at PNC Park on Friday as he continues to ramp up his rehab from last June's Tommy John surgery. He'll eventually go out on a rehab assignment, but that likely won't happen until after the All-Star break. Kranick could make a late-season return, but the Pirates probably aren't counting on him to really contribute until 2024.

Jose Alvarado RP | PHI
Phillies' Jose Alvarado: Reinstated from IL
Alvarado (elbow) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and called up from Double-A Reading on Friday.
Alvarado will return to the big-league roster after missing just under one month while nursing a left elbow injury. The 28-year-old appeared in two games with Reading, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out a batter over two innings. The left-hander has produced a sparkling 0.63 ERA and 0.63 WHIP with 24 punchouts over 14.1 frames in 14 appearances with the Phillies in 2023, and he should step right back into a high-leverage role. In a corresponding move, right-hander Connor Brogdon was optioned to Triple-A.

Connor Brogdon RP | CLE
Phillies' Connor Brogdon: Optioned to Triple-A
Philadelphia optioned Brogdon to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Jose Alvarado (elbow) has been activated off the injured list in a corresponding move. Brogdon gave up two earned runs in one inning of relief in his most recent appearance and holds a 4.03 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 29 major-league innings this year.

Victor Gonzalez RP | LAA
Dodgers' Victor Gonzalez: Opening Friday's game
Gonzalez will serve as an opener for the Dogers on Friday in Philadelphia, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Michael Grove had been the projected starter but instead will now be in line for bulk relief innings. With Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper slated to hit for the Phils in the first inning, using the left-handed Gonzalez as an opener makes sense.

Zach Muckenhirn RP | SEA
Mets' Zach Muckenhirn: Could be headed to majors
Muckenhirn could be in line for a promotion to the majors, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
The Mets are in need of a fresh bullpen arm and Muckenhirn appears to be the likely choice. The left-hander has yielded one run over 3.2 innings at the big-league level this season.

Ricky Karcher RP | ARI
Reds' Ricky Karcher: Summoned to big leagues
Karcher was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Friday.
Karcher was added to the 40-man roster over the offseason and will now get a chance to make his major-league debut. The 25-year-old has big stuff but often doesn't know where it's going, posting a 9.27 ERA and 31:34 K:BB over 22.1 innings with Louisville.
-
Eduardo Salazar RP | MIN
Reds' Eduardo Salazar: Optioned to Triple-A
Salazar was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Friday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Salazar will head to Louisville after he allowed six runs on 12 hits and three walks over 9.1 innings in six appearances with the Reds. Joel Kuhnel was called up Friday and will replace him on the major-league roster.
-
Joel Kuhnel RP | ATH
Reds' Joel Kuhnel: Called up Friday
Kuhnel was called up from Triple-A Louisville on Friday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Kuhnel will return to the big leagues after he was sent down to Louisville on April 5. The right-hander has made one appearance with the Reds this season, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk over two innings against the Cubs on April 4. He's struggled to a 7.13 ERA over 24 innings in Triple-A this year, so he'll likely operate exclusively in low-leverage situations with Cincinnati. Eduardo Salazar was sent down to Louisville in a corresponding move.

Raisel Iglesias RP | ATL
Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Collects second win
Iglesias (2-2) picked up the win in Thursday's 13-10 extra-inning victory over the Mets, striking out two in a perfect 10th inning.
Atlanta was down 10-7 after six frames but a late-inning comeback put the team's closer on the mound in the 10th, and the pitcher of record when Ozzie Albies launched a walk-off shot. Iglesias hasn't allowed an earned run since May 14, and since making his belated season debut the 33-year-old righty sports a 2.63 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB through 13.2 innings.
