Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that Fulmer will pitch only 2-to-3 innings in his start during the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Pirates before Tarik Skubal follows the right-hander in long relief, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Fulmer had been expected to make a more traditional start Tuesday, but that plan was thwarted after inclement weather in Detroit resulted in a postponement. Beginning Wednesday, the Tigers will begin a stretch of six games in five games, but Hinch apparently isn't planning on adding a sixth starter to the mix. Instead, the skipper is hopeful that with an abbreviated outing Wednesday, Fulmer will be ready to start on three days' rest in Sunday's series finale versus the Royals.

Stiever and the White Sox won't face Cleveland on Wednesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Northeast Ohio, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

Chicago didn't announce a starter for Wednesday's game prior to the postponement, but Stiever was believed to be a candidate to either start or work as a bulk reliever after he was recalled from the alternate site. In light of the postponement coupled with a team off day Thursday, the White Sox likely won't require Stiever or another pitcher to make a spot start for Lance Lynn (back), who is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list when his next turn in the rotation comes up.

Weems was optioned to the Athletics' alternate training site Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Weems spent two weeks with the major-league club and made three relief appearances for the Athletics. During that time, he allowed one run on a hit and one walk while striking out three in 2.1 innings. Reymin Guduan will remain in the bullpen after he was activated from the injured list as the 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader.

Ottavino allowed one walk over a scoreless eighth inning in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Toronto.

Ottavino recorded his second hold in guiding a two-run into the ninth inning for Matt Barnes to record his third save. That's the preferred formula for manager Alex Cora, who also got another scoreless inning out of Matt Andriese in the seventh. Ottavino has had an uneven start, but he'll often be used in the last third of games.

Scott allowed one hit and no runs in two-thirds of an inning for a hold in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Marlins.

Scott got the last two outs of the seventh inning. The 26-year-old southpaw has a 2.57 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 9:4 K:BB across seven innings this season. He's picked up four holds and two losses in seven appearances. Cesar Valdez has a decent grip on the closer job for now, but Scott has a solid hold on a setup role.

Armstrong allowed two runs on a hit and two walks while failing to record an out in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Marlins.

Armstrong allowed a single and two walks to load the bases in the sixth inning before Adam Plutko entered the game. Plutko allowed two runners to score, which were charged to Armstrong. The 30-year-old Armstrong had seen high-leverage work previously, but his early entrance Tuesday suggests his poor performance has removed him from the closer committee. Armstrong has allowed nine runs (eight earned), nine hits and five walks across four innings this season.

Richards was credited with a save against the Royals on Tuesday, pitching three innings and allowing one run on one hit while striking out four.

Richards entered the high-scoring contest in the seventh inning with Tampa Bay staked to a five-run lead. He gave up a run in that frame but retired the final seven batters he faced to log his first career save. Richards has allowed five earned runs over eight innings so far this season, but he's given up only six hits while posting a 10:1 K:BB.

Diekman struck out two in a perfect seventh inning to record his first save of the season in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Twins.

Lou Trivino was called in with one out and one on in the sixth inning of a 1-0 game and struck out both batters he faced, leaving closing duties to Diekman in the seventh. The lefty did have a bit of a nervous outing thanks to an Elvis Andrus error and a Willians Astudillo rocket that died at the wall in left field for the final out of the ballgame, but Diekman still came away with his first save since he was a Ranger in 2018. He's got a 3.24 ERA and 11:3 K:BB through 8.1 innings, but Trivino still seems to be Oakland's top option in the bullpen and should receive most of the closing opportunities.

Hendriks retired the lone batter he faced to earn the save during Tuesday's 8-5 win over Cleveland.

The White Sox entered the ninth inning with a five-run lead, but Hendriks was needed to close things out after Cleveland scratched across two runs. The right-hander needed only three pitches to retire Jake Bauers on a groundout. The 32-year-old is 3-for-4 in save opportunities and has allowed three runs on five hits with a 9:1 K:BB across 6.2 innings this season.

Manaea (2-1) picked up the win in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Twins, allowing six hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out seven.

Only two runners even got past second base against the southpaw, who tossed 66 of 95 pitches for strikes while going the distance. Manaea will carry a 3.04 ERA and 22:5 K:BB through 23.2 innings into his next start, set for Monday in Tampa Bay.
