Rojas allowed one run on one hit and three walks while striking out four batters over two innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Rojas got a chance to start Tuesday after Joe Ryan was scratched due to an illness. Rojas had thrown just 33 pitches in his lone rehab appearance before being activated off the IL on Sunday following a triceps injury, so he wasn't expected to go very deep, and that indeed proved to be the case. With that said, the lefty probably could have covered more innings if not for his lack of control -- he needed 50 pitches to cover two frames, with only 25 of his offerings going for strikes. On the plus side, Rojas struck out four and managed to work around his wildness to allow just one run. Ultimately, it was Austin Voth who took on the bulk of the innings in his first appearance as a Twin, eating up four innings with 96 pitches. Neither Rojas nor Voth figure to enter the rotation since Ryan has been cleared to return Wednesday.

Corniell (0-1) took the loss against the Marlins on Tuesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 3.1 innings.

Corniell relieved Cal Quantrill in the third inning and struggled, allowing one run in the fourth before enduring a four-run fifth. In just two major-league appearances between 2025 and 2026, the 23-year-old has surrendered eight earned runs across just five frames. It's unclear what his role will be moving forward, but if he remains part of the equation for replacing Jack Leiter (ankle), he could pitch again this weekend against the Blue Jays.

Avila (3-3) earned the win against the Rays on Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and four walks with six strikeouts over five innings.

Avila allowed a run in the first inning before settling in with four scoreless frames, recording a season-high six strikeouts while also issuing four walks for the second time this year. Since joining the rotation June 1, Avila has yielded exactly one earned run in four of five starts, with an eight-run blowup inflating his 5.06 ERA for the month. He'll take a 5.06 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 39:27 K:BB across 42.2 innings this season into a road matchup with the White Sox this weekend.

Manager Matt Quatraro said Tuesday that Ragans (elbow) will likely need some type of elbow surgery, but the specific procedure and potential recovery timeline remain unclear as the left-hander is scheduled to visit another doctor soon, Brian Murphy of MLB.com reports.

The 28-year-old has been on the shelf due to an elbow impingement since early May and was transferred to the 60-day IL last week after suffering a setback. Ragans can safely be ruled out for the near future, and his availability for the rest of the season is also in question as he continues to be evaluated.

The Rays acquired Roycroft from the Cardinals on Tuesday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Roycroft has posted a 6.41 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 52:37 K:BB over 60.1 innings at the major-league level and had been designated for assignment last week. The 6-foot-8 righty's sinker rates well in terms of Stuff+, and it would not be a surprise if the Rays are able to coax more out of him. Roycroft will report to Triple-A Durham for now.

The Tigers transferred Smith (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.

The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Ben Malgeri, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Toledo. Smith is in the midst of a throwing progression as he works his way back from right shoulder inflammation, but his move to the 60-day IL indicates that the Tigers weren't counting on him being ready to contribute out of the bullpen before the All-Star break. He'll be eligible for activation beginning July 21.

The Twins selected Voth's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.

Voth was just inked to a minor-league contract earlier this month and is now with the big club after turning in a 5.40 ERA and 17:6 K:BB over 13.1 innings with St. Paul. He will provide length in the Minnesota bullpen and is a good bet to pitch Tuesday versus the Dodgers at some point after starter Kendry Rojas, who is not fully stretched out.

The Twins optioned Laweryson to Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.

Laweryson has authored a 5.06 ERA and 18:7 K:BB over 16 innings out of the Minnesota bullpen this season. The 28-year-old's roster spot is being taken by Austin Voth, who can provide more length.

The Blue Jays designated Juenger for assignment Tuesday.

The right-hander had his contract selected by Toronto in late May and made his first two MLB appearances before returning to Triple-A Buffalo. Juenger gave up three earned runs over two big-league innings and has a 2.59 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 28:( K:BB across 24.1 innings at Triple-A this year.

The Blue Jays optioned Estrada to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

He'll give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to right-hander Shane Bieber (elbow), who was activated from the 60-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Astros. Estrada has managed to allow just two runs over 6.1 innings in a couple relief outings for Toronto, though that's come with a 3:4 K:BB. The 27-year-old will likely go back into the rotation at Buffalo.
