Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's win over Miami.
Perez knocked a double and scored a run in the fourth inning before adding an insurance run with his solo shot in the eighth. He's up to 15 homers this season, including two during the three-game series against Miami and six in his last 10 appearances. The veteran slugger has gone 14-for-34 (.412) during that 10-game stretch, boosting his season slash line to .251/.294/.444 through 391 plate appearances.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Set to return to big leagues
Alvarez is expected to be called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Alvarez will return to the major-league roster after being sent down to Syracuse on June 22. The catcher caught fire at Triple-A, batting .299 with 11 home runs, 24 RBI and 17 runs scored over 19 contests following his demotion. Alvarez will now compete with Luis Torrens for starts behind the plate with the Mets.

Cesar Salazar C | HOU
Astros' Cesar Salazar: Sent to Triple-A
The Astros optioned Salazar to Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Salazar has been up with the Astros as a third catcher since early May, though he's played in just eight games and gone 1-for-7 during his two-plus months in the majors. The 29-year-old is likely to stick with Sugar Land as long as Yainer Diaz and Victor Caratini stay healthy.

Will Smith C | LAD
Dodgers' Will Smith: Getting rest Sunday
Smith isn't starting against the Brewers on Sunday.
Smith started the Dodgers' first two games coming out of the All-Star break, going 3-for-8, but he'll get a breather for Sunday's afternoon affair. Dalton Rushing is starting behind the plate and batting ninth in the series finale against Milwaukee.

Austin Wells C | NYY
Yankees' Austin Wells: Receiving Sunday off
Wells is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
Wells went 1-for-8 with an RBI and a run while starting the first two games of the series and will take a seat for Sunday's finale. Ben Rice will instead do the catching for Marcus Stroman and bat seventh.

J.T. Realmuto C | PHI
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Beginning on bench Sunday
Realmuto is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup versus the Angels.
Realmuto will get a breather after starting each of Philadelphia's previous six contests. Rafael Marchan is getting the start behind the plate in the series finale versus Los Angeles.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Getting breather Sunday
Murphy isn't in the starting lineup Sunday versus the Yankees.
Murphy had started each of Atlanta's previous six games either at catcher or DH, but he'll get a rest Sunday. He went 8-for-23 with three homers and seven RBI during that six-game stretch, justifying Atlanta's decision to get his bat into the lineup even on days when he didn't catch. Marcell Ozuna, who has been playing through a hip issue, is back in the lineup at DH on Sunday after beginning on the bench three straight days.

Patrick Bailey C | SF
Giants' Patrick Bailey: Receiving rest Sunday
Bailey is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Bailey started the first two games coming out of the All-Star break and five straight overall, and he'll take a seat Sunday after going 7-for-16 with a walk and two runs during that stretch. Andrew Knizner will take over behind the plate to catch for lefty Robbie Ray in the series finale versus Toronto.

Victor Caratini C | MIN
Astros' Victor Caratini: Three hits, steal in loss
Caratini went 3-for-4 with two walks, one RBI and one stolen base in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Mariners.
Caratini has hit safely in eight straight games, going 11-for-31 (.355) in that span. The steal was his first since the 2023 campaign -- he was caught stealing on his only attempt in 2024. The catcher has hit his way into the lineup on a regular basis, playing either behind the dish or at designated hitter while sharing both positions with fellow backstop Yainer Diaz. Caratini is up to a .265/.316/.439 slash line with 10 home runs, 33 RBI, 24 runs scored and nine doubles through 247 plate appearances. He's always had a decent bat for a catcher, but the 31-year-old is on pace for career highs in nearly every counting stat this year if he can continue to see steady playing time.
