  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Yankees' Ryan McMahon: Slugs first homer as Yankee

McMahon went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a 12-8 win against St. Louis on Saturday

McMahon extended New York's lead to three runs with his seventh-inning blast. The long ball was the veteran third baseman's first since he was traded from Colorado to the Yankees in late July. In 20 games with his new club, McMahon has slashed .250/.370/.367 with four doubles, seven RBI, eight runs and an 11:20 BB:K.

  • Marcelo Mayer SS | BOS

Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: Requires season-ending surgery

Mayer will require season-ending surgery on his sprained right wrist, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Shortly after being placed on the 10-day injured list July 25, Mayer received an anti-inflammatory shot, but the rookie's wrist didn't respond as well as the Red Sox had hoped. The 22-year-old has opted for a permanent fix for the injury and is expected to face a three-month recovery, per Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald. Mayer should be back to full health ahead of spring training, when he'll likely have to compete for a starting role after slashing just .228/.272/.402 with four home runs over his first 44 big-league games.

  • Otto Kemp 3B | PHI

Phillies' Otto Kemp: Sent back to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Kemp to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

The rookie had started just three of the last eight games, and since his playing-time outlook wasn't going to improve with Alec Bohm (rib) returning from the injured list Sunday, the Phillies opted to send Kemp back to the minors. After getting called up from Triple-A on June 7, the 25-year-old slashed .228/.298/.359 with four home runs, one stolen base, 17 RBI and 17 runs over 46 games.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Reinstated, batting cleanup Sunday

The Phillies reinstated Bohm (rib) from the 10-day injured list, and he will start at third base and bat cleanup Sunday against the Nationals.

The third baseman has been on the shelf nearly a month due to a left rib fracture, but he's ready to rejoin the Phillies after going 3-for-21 over five minor-league rehab games. In 37 games since June 1, Bohm is batting .290 with three home runs, 21 RBI, 14 runs and a .749 OPS.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Reds' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Smacks second homer with Cincinnati

Hayes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly during Saturday's 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Brewers.

The third baseman ended Quinn Priester's shutout effort by going deep to left field in the sixth inning, and Hayes added another run in the 11th on a sacrifice fly. He's struggled at the plate since being acquired by the Reds from the Pirates in late July, but Hayes has recorded a hit in four of his last six games while going 6-for-17 (.353) over that span.

  • Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Belts late solo homer

Marte went 2-for-5 with a solo homer during the Reds' 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

He made things interesting in the 11th inning by taking the second pitch he saw from Nick Mears deep to left field to reduce the Reds' deficit to one run. Marte has been hot at the plate as of late and is on a seven-game hitting streak, going 13-for-30 (.433) with five doubles, two home runs and nine RBI over that span.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | SEA

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Homers in loss

Suarez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Mets.

Suarez supplied Seattle's only run with a 412-foot shot off Edwin Diaz in the ninth inning. It was the 34-year-old's second home run since returning to the Mariners, and he's just 8-for-56 with seven RBI and eight runs scored over 15 games since rejoining the club July 31. For the season, he's slashing .235/.305/.540 with 38 homers, 94 RBI, 72 runs scored and three steals across 498 plate appearances between the Diamondbacks and Seattle.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Swipes bag in win

Baty went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Mariners.

Baty singled twice and came around to score the Mets' first two runs, adding a stolen base in the seventh inning. The 25-year-old is 9-for-25 through nine August contests with three multi-hit efforts, two home runs, four RBI and seven runs scored in that span. For the season, he's slashing .239/.297/.421 with 13 homers, 38 RBI, 36 runs scored and six steals across 314 plate appearances.

  • Orlando Arcia 3B | COL

Rockies' Orlando Arcia: Comes off IL

The Rockies activated Arcia (elbow) off the injured list Saturday.

Arcia missed the minimum 10 games while on the IL due to right elbow inflammation. Though he's now healthy enough to return to action, he may be reduced to a part-time role given that Kyle Karros has hit well while manning the hot corner after being promoted in the wake of Arcia's IL stint. Aaron Schunk was sent down to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday to clear room for Arcia's return to the 26-man roster.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Slated for Sunday activation

Bohm (ribs) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Nationals, Charlotte Varnes of The Athletic reports.

Bohm started a rehab assignment last week and played in five games, going 3-for-21 (.143) with a homer and a triple. The third baseman is feeling well enough to rejoin the active roster for Sunday's series finale against Washington. His return will likely mean fewer at-bats for Edmundo Sosa and Otto Kemp.
