  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Begins baseball activities

Miranda (left hand) took batting practice Tuesday and also did fielding drills at third base, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

He could return from the 7-day injured list later this week. Miranda was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on April 13 after a poor start to the season. Before he could play a game for St. Paul, he suffered a strained left hand while shopping on his day off.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

White Sox's Josh Rojas: Swipes bag in loss

Rojas went 2-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and an RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Royals.

Rojas notched his first two base hits of the season and drove in his second RBI in as many starts. He's batted seventh and eighth in the order while making starts at both second and third base. The White Sox face four right-handers in their next five games, and Rojas should continue to be in the lineup while on the large side of a platoon.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Continues to hit for high average

Hayes went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Cardinals.

Hayes snapped an eight-game streak without an extra-base hit, although he has continued to hit for a high average despite the lack of pop. The defensive-minded third baseman hasn't homered since April 4, but he's batting .317 (20-for-63) with two doubles and six RBI since April 19. Hayes has at least one knock in 14 of his last 16 outings, tallying multiple hits in six of these contests.

  • Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Late scratch Tuesday

Marte was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against Atlanta due to left side pain, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.

With Marte removed from Tuesday's lineup, Santiago Espinal will move to third base, Spencer Steer will shift to left field and Austin Wynns will start at first base. Marte has gone 11-for-39 with two stolen bases, one home run and nine RBI over his last 10 games.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Needs rehab assignment

Westburg (hamstring) is with Triple-A Norfolk and will work out for a couple days before getting into rehab games later this week, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

There was a report last week that Westburg may not need a rehab assignment, but we can now rule out a return when first eligible Wednesday. If he needs only a couple rehab games, he could still be activated by the end of the weekend, but those in weekly leagues should try to get him out of lineups.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Reinstated off IL

The Angels reinstated Moncada (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Moncada started the season on the IL due to a right thumb sprain that he suffered in mid-March. He made two rehab outings with Single-A Inland Empire, going 0-for-5 with four walks and two strikeouts. He's progressed enough in his recovery to return to the big club, and he will start at third base and bat sixth against the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Could be activated later this week

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that LeMahieu (calf/hip) could be activated from the 10-day injured list later this week after playing two more rehab games, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

LeMahieu has moved his rehab assignment up to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and will play for the affiliate Tuesday and Wednesday before the Yankees decide whether to have him join them on their road trip that begins Friday. The veteran infielder initially landed on the IL due to a calf strain but more recently dealt with a hip injury. However, he's healthy now, and his season debut with the big club looks imminent. LeMahieu could take over as the Yankees' primary second baseman while Jazz Chisholm (oblique) is sidelined.

  • Eric Wagaman 1B | MIN

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Taking seat Tuesday

Wagaman is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Wagaman's absence from the lineup Tuesday breaks a run of 17 straight starts, during which he had a .243/.264/.400 slash line with five doubles and two homers. Matt Mervis will man first base while Agustin Ramirez receives a turn at designated hitter.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Batting fifth in season debut

Lewis will start at designated hitter and bat fifth in Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

It's the season debut for Lewis, who was shelved for nearly six weeks with a strained left hamstring. Lewis is likely to play third base primarily, but he's in the DH spot Tuesday and could be there on occasion as the Twins ease him back into action. Jonah Bride is playing third base for the Twins in the series opener.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: On rehab assignment

Moncada (thumb) has gone 0-for-5 with a 2:4 K:BB in 10 plate appearances in his first two rehab games with Single-A Inland Empire.

Moncada is nearly a month removed from landing on the 10-day injured list with a right thumb sprain that he first suffered back in mid-March. It's not clear how many rehab games he'll need, nor is Moncada guaranteed to get his third-base job back when he returns. He posted a .656 OPS in eight tilts before going on the IL.
