Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Begins rehab assignment Friday
Riley (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Rome on Friday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
He is reportedly feeling strong and went through normal pregame activities Wednesday. Riley will begin his rehab assignment as the designated hitter, and is on track to rejoin the big club when rosters expand in September.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Three hits in loss
Anderson went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk Tuesday in the Marlins' 5-1 loss to the Braves.
Anderson has rebounded from a rough July in a major way, kicking off the current month with a 1.126 OPS in 18 games. He'll put a five-game hitting streak on the line when he returns to the lineup Wednesday as the Marlins' No. 3 batter.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Gets day off
Arenado is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
Arenado has started eight straight games and gone 8-for-35 (.229) with five home runs and nine RBI during that stretch. He'll give way to Ryan McMahon at the hot corner in this one.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: First off day of second half
Machado is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.
He'll sit for the first time since July 2 in what amounts to a maintenance day for the series finale in Cincinnati. Ty France will fill in at third base for Machado, who owns a six-game hitting streak but is slashing a middling .203/.253/.230 with no home runs in August.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Swipes two bags in return
Senzel (elbow) went 1-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases Tuesday in the Reds' 3-2 win over the Padres.
Senzel was scratched ahead of Monday's series opener with a sore elbow, but his ability to play off the bench that day and return to the lineup Tuesday suggests that the injury won't be much of an issue going forward. He collected both of his stolen bases -- his 11th and 12th of the season -- in the fifth inning after reaching on a one-out single. Though he slotted seventh in the order Tuesday versus right-hander Cal Quantrill, Senzel will slide into the leadoff spot in Wednesday's series finale with southpaw Matt Strahm on the bump for San Diego.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Reaches 100 RBI
Escobar went 1-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Rockies.
Escobar's two-run triple capped a five-run sixth inning, and he plated the runs that turned out to be difference in the game. The two RBI were Nos. 99 and 100, the first time in his career he's reached triple digits in that category. "Anytime I see people on base, my thing is to be aggressive," he said. "I'm an aggressive guy at home plate, but when I have an opportunity to bring a guy home, I'm more aggressive." The 30-year-old infielder has delivered with men in scoring position, posting a .305 average and .946 OPS this season.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Reaches base four times
Muncy went 1-for-1 with a solo home run, three walks and three runs scored in the Dodgers' 16-3 win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
Muncy extended his hitting streak to eight games with a sixth-inning solo shot off Justin Shafer, giving him 32 long balls on the season in 420 at-bats. The 28-year-old also continues to showcase excellent plate discipline, as the three walks give him 75 free passes, leaving him with an excellent .374 on-base percentage.

Ildemaro Vargas 1B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Back in majors
Vargas was recalled from Triple-A Reno prior to Tuesday's game against the Rockies.
He is not in the lineup against lefty Kyle Freeland. Look for Vargas to assume a bench infielder role over the rest of the season. He has hit .403/.453/.573 with two home runs, one steal, 11 walks and five strikeouts in 28 games at Triple-A, but his .260/.296/.391 slash line in the majors is a better gauge of the 28-year-old's offensive capabilities.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Rehab assignment this weekend
Riley (knee) could begin a rehab assignment this weekend, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
He hit on the field for the first time Tuesday. This lines up with the last reported timetable, as Riley will attempt to get back shortly after rosters expand in September. With Ender Inciarte (hamstring) and Nick Markakis (wrist) also on the shelf, there will be at-bats waiting for Riley, assuming he is able to return first.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Gets day off Tuesday
Moustakas is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Cardinals.
He will get his first day off since July 28. Moustakas is hitting .273/.309/.494 with four home runs in 18 games over that stretch. Hernan Perez will start at third base and hit seventh.
