Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Another lefty pitcher
Muncy is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.
The third baseman got the start Monday versus Arizona's lefty pitcher Tommy Henry in the first game of the series, but Muncy will begin in the dugout Wednesday for the second straight game against southpaw Jordan Montgomery. Enrique Hernandez will get the start at third and bat fifth in the series finale.

Vidal Brujan SS | NYM
Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Starting at shortstop Wednesday

Brujan had been set to get the day off, but he'll be pressed into the starting nine at shortstop after Tim Anderson (thumb) was scratched from the lineup.

Vidal Brujan SS | NYM
Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Moves to bench Wednesday
Brujan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
With Tim Anderson (thumb) returning to action following a one-game absence, Brujan will head to the bench after filling in as Miami's starting shortstop in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning win. Before Tuesday, Brujan had started three of the Marlins' previous four games at third base, and he'll continue to vie with Emmanuel Rivera for playing time at that position until Jake Burger (oblique) returns from the 10-day injured list.

Tyler Wade SS | TEX
Padres' Tyler Wade: Fills in for resting Bogaerts
Wade will start at second base and bat ninth Wednesday against the Reds.
Wade will stay in the starting nine for the second straight day, but his run of regular playing time at third base against right-handed pitching has come to an end with Manny Machado having recently been cleared to play defense after he had been deployed exclusively at designated hitter for much of the first month of the season. With Machado likely to start at third base more often than not, Wade looks poised to serve as a utility man moving forward. Wade will pick up his first start of the season at second base while Xander Bogaerts receives a day off.

Joseph Ortiz SS | MIL
Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Heads to bench Wednesday
Ortiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.
Ortiz looks to be getting some routine maintenance for the day game after a night game, with Oliver Dunn spelling him at third base. The rookie had started at third base or second base in each of the past five games, reaching base at a .476 clip while recording four extra-base hits (one home run, three doubles) and a stolen base during that stretch.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Three hits vs. Miami
McMahon went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Marlins.
McMahon got the Rockies on the board with an RBI single in the first inning before driving in a second run with a double in the 10th. The 29-year-old McMahon now has hits in six straight games, going 8-for-23 with two doubles and two home runs in that span, on the heels of a 1-for-14 stretch. His slash line is up to .321/.397/.495 on the season with four homers, 18 RBI and 12 runs scored.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Homers in loss
Candelario went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to San Diego.
Candelario and Stuart Fairchild each homered in the seventh inning, closing a four-run deficit to two. It was the second consecutive game with multiple hits for Candelario, who endured an 0-for-19 slump heading into the series against the Padres. He's hitting .189/.282/.378 with three homers and nine RBI through 103 plate appearances.
-
Christopher Morel 1B | MIA
Cubs' Christopher Morel: Nabs second steal
Morel went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Mets.
The steal was his second of the season, and both pilfers have come in his last eight contests. Morel is struggling to get going with his bat, however -- through 29 games he's slashing a meager .215/.292/.374 with four homers, 14 RBI and 17 runs.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Absent from lineup Tuesday
Muncy is not in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks.
Muncy started against southpaw Tommy Henry on Monday but will take a seat with lefty Jordan Montgomery on the bump for Arizona on Tuesday. Despite the Dodgers scoring eight runs against the Diamondbacks in Monday's win, the third baseman went hitless across five plate appearances. Enrique Hernandez will get the start at third and bat sixth Tuesday.

Mark Vientos 1B | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: Heads back to minors
The Mets optioned Vientos to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Vientos contributed a walk-off home run in Sunday's extra-innings win over the Cardinals but now finds himself back in the minors as Starling Marte returns to the active roster. With J.D. Martinez with the club and Brett Baty absorbing most of the at-bats at third base, there's no path to regular playing time for Vientos right now.
