Nationals' Brady House: Makes impact in return to majors
House went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Seeing his first action in the big leagues since May 18, House carved out his share of a 10-run, 15-hit attack by the Nationals that included nine extra-base hits. The 23-year-old will get a long look at third base due to Curtis Mead now being in Boston. Over 50 games with Triple-A Rochester this season, House put together a .301/.342/.500 slash line with eight homers, 26 runs and 34 RBI.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Giants' Matt Chapman: Unlikely to return for homestand
Manager Tony Vitello said Sunday that Chapman (abdomen) is still without a target date for his return from the 10-day injured list, which suggests that the veteran third baseman won't be activated before the Giants' homestand ends Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Earlier in the week, Vitello left the door open for Chapman to return at some point during the Giants' six-game homestand that began Friday, but the five-time Gold Glove Award winner looks like he'll require some additional time to fully heal from the abdominal strain that sent him to the shelf July 1. On a positive note, Chapman is said to be making good progress in his recovery, as he took batting practice Friday and also ran the bases over the weekend, per MLB.com. Until Chapman is ready to return, Casey Schmitt will continue to hold down the fort at third base.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Reds' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Pops third homer
Hayes went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Cardinals.
Hayes has gone 4-for-22 over 10 games since he returned from a bulging disc in his back. The third baseman has settled back into a part-time role, battling for playing time with Eugenio Suarez and Sal Stewart at the hot corner. Hayes is hitting a meager .148 with a .443 OPS, three home runs, six RBI, 13 runs scored and one stolen base over 152 plate appearances this season.

David Hamilton 3B | MIL
Brewers' David Hamilton: Taking seat against southpaw
Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.
After making his return from the injured list Friday, the left-handed hitter went 1-for-7 with a stolen base over two games against right-handed starters. Hamilton will head to the bench Sunday while southpaw Kyle Freeland toes the rubber for Colorado. Hamilton could be in store for a part-time role versus righties, however, as Joey Ortiz has made a case for more opportunities at the hot corner. Since the start of July, Ortiz has produced a .921 OPS over 20 games.

Luis Rengifo LF | SD
Padres' Luis Rengifo: Moving into regular role
Rengifo will start at third base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Marlins.
Rengifo appears to be pushing his way into a near-everyday role for San Diego, starting for the fifth time in six contests. Since being called up from Triple-A El Paso on July 8, Rengifo has gone 11-for-26 (.423) with two home runs, one stolen base, three walks, seven RBI and six runs.
