  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Nolan Arenado: Clubs homer in win

Arenado went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and a second run scored in Monday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Arenado logged his first multi-hit effort since June 19 versus the Twins. The homer also ended a 24-game power drought -- his last long ball was June 1 versus the Dodgers. During the slump, he hit just .170 with four doubles and five RBI. The veteran third baseman is batting .243 with a .717 OPS, nine homers, 34 RBI, 36 runs scored, 15 doubles and three stolen bases over 79 contests this season.

  • A.J. Vukovich 3B | ARI

Diamondbacks' A.J. Vukovich: Returns to health

Vukovich (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day injured list June 17.

Vukovich suffered a shoulder injury April 9 while playing for Triple-A Reno, but he managed to return on the front end of his initial 2-to-3 month timetable. He's slashing .308/.438/.577 with two home runs, four RBI and five runs scored in eight games since returning from the IL.

  • Graham Pauley 3B | MIA

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Back on bench with lefty starting

Pauley is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies.

The Marlins will send Pauley and two other left-handed batters (Griffin Conine and Owen Caissie) to the bench while lefty Sean Sullivan toes the rubber for Colorado in the series opener. After being called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Pauley started at third base in two of the Marlins' three matchups with right-handed pitchers in St. Louis over the weekend, going 2-for-6 with two doubles, two RBI and one run. He could occupy the strong side of a loose platoon at the hot corner with Javier Sanoja, who will occupy the position Monday.

  • David Hamilton 3B | MIL

Brewers' David Hamilton: Idle against lefty Monday

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.

The left-handed-hitting Hamilton will hit the bench for the second time in the Brewers' last three games, with both of his absences coming against left-handed starting pitchers. Joey Ortiz will replace Hamilton at third base Monday while southpaw Nick Lodolo toes the rubber for Cincinnati.

  • Nick Gonzales 3B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Not in Monday's lineup

Gonzales is not in the Pirates' starting lineup against the Phillies on Monday.

The Pirates will role with the lefty-hitting Tyler Callihan at third base, who will bat seventh and face Phillies' right-hander Aaron Nola in Monday's series opener. Gonzales has reached base safely in six of his last seven games, going 9-for-24 (.375) with one home run, two RBI and six runs scored in that span.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Giants' Matt Chapman: Multi-hit effort in win

Chapman went 2-for-4 with a double in Sunday's 3-2 win over Atlanta.

Chapman singled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh, marking his first multi-hit performance since June 10. The veteran third baseman had recorded just two hits over his previous 10 games, and he turned in his first extra-base hit since June 14. Over 24 appearances this month, he's slashing .266/.384/.532 with 23 RBI, nine runs scored and six long balls in 99 plate appearances.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Reds' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Closing in on facing pitchers

Manager Terry Francona said that Hayes (back) will face live pitching at the Reds' facility in Arizona on Wednesday or Thursday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Hayes is on the mend from a lumbar bulging disk, but if his back presents no issues for him during his upcoming hitting session, he could be cleared to embark on a minor-league rehab assignment. The 29-year-old has been on the shelf since May 22 with the injury, so he could need more than a handful of minor-league games to stockpile at-bats and get his timing back at the plate before the Reds activate him.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Homers in Sunday's loss

Machado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Machado has had a homer and a double in three of his last eight games. He is hitting .321 (9-for-28) with eight RBI in that span, showing some signs of life after what's largely been a disappointing first half aside from steady power production. The third baseman is still batting just .188 on the year with a .664 OPS, 15 homers, 44 RBI, 39 runs scored, 15 doubles and one stolen base over 80 contests.

  • Buddy Kennedy 3B | SEA

Giants' Buddy Kennedy: Loses 40-man roster spot

The Giants designated Kennedy for assignment Sunday.

Kennedy has his contract selected by the Giants in early June, but he barely saw the field with just eight plate appearances in seven games. The 27-year-old could head to Triple-A Sacramento if he passes through waivers unclaimed, though he'll also have the right to elect free agency.

  • Javier Sanoja 3B | MIA

Marlins' Javier Sanoja: Logs three hits, two thefts in win

Sanoja went 3-for-4 with a run, an RBI and two stolen bases in a 5-1 win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Sanoja took advantage of just his third start over Miami's past seven games by rapping three singles from the No. 8 spot in the batting order. The speedy utility man capitalized while he was on the basepaths with a steal in each of the fourth and ninth innings. Sanoja appears to be sharing starts at third base with Graham Pauley and Leo Jimenez, though the recent demotion of Connor Norby to the minors could lead to Sanoja seeing a bit more playing time.
