Dodgers' Max Muncy: Powers offense in rout

Muncy went 3-for-6 with two home runs, three total runs and seven RBI in Saturday's 18-2 thrashing of the Yankees.

Muncy's first RBI was a relatively quiet one, as he laced a single to center to bring in the Dodgers' second run in the first inning. The veteran third baseman followed with two big blasts -- a 400-foot, three-run shot in the second inning to send New York starter Will Warren to the showers and a 410-foot, three-run blast in the fifth. Muncy achieved a couple of personal milestones Saturday, as his first long ball was the 200th regular-season homer of his big-league career, while his seven RBI tied a single-game career high. He appears to be coming around in the power department; after swatting just one long ball in his first 39 games, Muncy has belted five homers while racking up 22 RBI over his past 15 contests.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Drives in three

Baty went 1-for-4 with a three-RBI triple and one run scored in Saturday's win over the Rockies.

Baty's bases-clearing triple in the first inning gave the Mets a lead they never relinquished. The 25-year-old has taken advantage of consistent playing time in May, slashing .292/.344/.573 with six home runs and 20 RBI in his past 30 games. The former top prospect struggled through his first three MLB seasons and owns a career .636 OPS, but he may be turning a corner in 2025.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Homers in loss

Bohm went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 17-7 loss to the Brewers.

In an otherwise forgettable day for the Phillies, Bohm put them on the board with a solo homer in the fourth inning. It was a fitting end to a fantastic May, during which he slashed .324/.364/.510 with nine extra-base hits, 13 RBI and 14 runs scored. For the year, the 28-year-old owns a .270/.306/.386 line with five home runs, 21 RBI, 25 runs scored and a stolen base across 229 plate appearances.

  • Mark Vientos DH | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: Day off Saturday

Vientos isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Vientos will take a seat Saturday after striking out in all three of his at-bats during Friday's series opener. His absence will allow Jared Young to serve as New York's DH and bat sixth.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Giants' Matt Chapman: Reaches all four times in win

Chapman was 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and a hit-by-pitch during Friday's 2-0 win over the Marlins.

Chapman had his first perfect day at the plate this season the day after turning in a three-hit performance. His 2-for-2 game on Friday included his 10th home run, pulling him into a three-way tie atop the Giants' leaderboard. The 32-year-old has also struck out just once in his last five games while going a combined 6-for-13 at the plate, a good sign for a hitter with a strikeout rate of 24.6 percent.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Taking seat Friday

Baty is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies.

Baty started the previous nine games -- including two versus left-handed pitchers -- and will receive a day off after batting .290 (9-for-31) with a double, a homer, six RBI and five runs during that span. Luisangel Acuna will receive the start at second base and bat ninth against Colorado southpaw Kyle Freeland.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Drives in four in nightcap

Riley went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, four total RBI and a second run scored in a 9-3 win over the Phillies in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader.

Riley opened the scoring with a two-run double off Zack Wheeler in the fourth inning before extending Atlanta's lead to 8-0 with a homer off Joe Ross, his ninth of the year and first in 22 games. Overall, the 28-year-old Riley is slashing .280/.339/.444 with 32 RBI, 30 runs scored and two stolen bases across 245 plate appearances this season.

  • Graham Pauley 3B | MIA

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Shuttled back to minors

Pauley was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday.

Pauley will be optioned to the minors for the second time this season. He began the season as the regular third baseman for Miami, but the return of Connor Norby has left him without a regular role. Pauley will likely be back in the majors at some point thanks to his defensive versatility along the infield.

  • Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Back with Snakes on MLB deal

Vargas signed a major-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Thursday, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix reports.

Vargas opted out of his minor-league deal with Arizona on Tuesday but will now return to the organization on a big-league deal, replacing Jordan Lawlar on the MLB roster. The 33-year-old utility man slashed .261/.330/.397 across 221 plate appearances during his time in Triple-A and will give the D-backs extra depth at every infield position. He's also capable of playing in left field.

  • Eric Wagaman 1B | NYM

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Three hits in Wednesday's win

Wagaman went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Wednesday's win over the Padres.

It's his third three-hit performance in the last 12 games, a stretch in which Wagaman is slashing .340/.370/.460 with a homer, seven runs and seven RBI. The 27-year-old has emerged as an everyday player for the Marlins, seeing most of his action at first base right now with occasional forays into left field, but his overall fantasy impact remains minimal -- he has a .693 OPS on the season with four homers and one steal in 50 contests.
