  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Out of Sunday's lineup

Candelario is not in Sunday's lineup against the Orioles.

He is hitting .255/.283/.471 with two home runs in 14 games this month. Harold Castro will start at third base and hit seventh.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Twins' Gio Urshela: Homers in loss

Urshela went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in a loss to the Guardians on Saturday.

Urshela knocked in both of Minnesota's runs in the contest, blasting a 434-foot solo shot to center field in the fourth inning and plating another run with an infield single in the 10th. It's been a quiet start to Urshela's tenure in Minnesota, as he's slashing a modest .232/.288/.313 across 111 plate appearances.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Homers again Saturday

Moncada went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a victory over the Yankees on Saturday.

The third baseman's 424-foot solo blast in the third inning gave the White Sox an early 2-0 lead. It was the second long ball in three games for Moncada, who only recently returned from an oblique injury that cost him the first month of the season. He's slashing .286/.375/.571 over 23 plate appearances since his return.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

    Angels' Matt Duffy: Reinstated Saturday

Duffy (illness) was reinstated from the injured list prior to Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against Oakland.

Jack Mayfield was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move, so Duffy will take over those utility infielder duties. He hit .278 with zero home runs and zero steals in 36 at-bats prior to being placed on the IL.

  • Taylor Walls 3B | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Added to lineup

Walls has been added to the lineup for Saturday's game against Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Walls was expected to get a day off Saturday after he was a late addition to Friday's lineup, but he'll join the starting nine after Brandon Lowe (undisclosed) was a late scratch Saturday. Walls will start at the keystone and bat eighth.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

    Twins' Jose Miranda: Starting Saturday

Miranda is starting Saturday's game against Cleveland.

The 23-year-old got a day off in Friday's series opener against the Guardians after starting in 10 consecutive games, but he'll return to the lineup at first base and bat sixth Saturday. Since Luis Arraez has spent plenty of time as the designated hitter recently, Miranda is in line to serve as Minnesota's primary first baseman after Alex Kirilloff was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday. Miranda is hitting .128 with a homer, two doubles, three RBI and two runs to begin his major-league career.

  • Trey Cabbage 1B | PIT

Angels' Trey Cabbage: Placed on 7-day IL

Cabbage was placed on Double-A Rocket City's 7-day injured list with an undisclosed injury Saturday.

The club has yet to specify the nature of Cabbage's injury, but it is almost certainly tied to the collision at first base that resulted in his removal from Friday night's contest. The 25-year-old has been raking for the Trash Pandas this season, posting a .327/.434/.664 slash line through 30 games. Cabbage leads the Southern League with 10 home runs and 32 RBI and has added 10 stolen bases.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Remains on bench

Toro will sit for the third straight game Saturday against the Mets.

Toro's absences follow a run of 11 straight starts. He hasn't exactly earned everyday at-bats, hitting just .150/.218/.310 on the year.

  • Royals' Emmanuel Rivera: On bench Saturday

Rivera isn't starting Saturday against Colorado.

Rivera started in the last two games and went 0-for-6 with a walk and two strikeouts. MJ Melendez will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh Saturday.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Resting in afternoon game

Rendon will sit for the afternoon portion of Saturday's doubleheader against the Athletics, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

The Angels won't ask all their veterans to play 18 innings in one day. Tyler Wade starts at third base in the afternoon contest, but Rendon will likely return for the nightcap.
