Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Expected to rejoin big club
The Yankees are expected to recall Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre prior to Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.
Peraza hit .308 and posted a .819 OPS over his last nine games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and his recent production in the minors looks as though it'll earn him another trip to the big leagues. The Yankees are likely to give their young players plenty of playing time down the stretch, with Peraza likely to get most of his starts at third base.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Will lead off Monday
Garcia (ribs) is in the lineup for Monday's game against the A's.
Garcia worked as a reserve for a couple days after leaving Friday's contest with a rib issue, but he pinch hit Sunday and has been deemed ready to play a full nine innings. As he has done regularly of late, he will man the hot corner and hit leadoff Monday night.

Nick Maton DH | CHW
Tigers' Nick Maton: Demoted to minors
Maton was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Maton is the roster casualty with the Tigers bringing up outfield prospect Parker Meadows from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Across 293 plate appearances at the major-league level this season, Maton has turned in a .173/.288/.305 batting line.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Royals' Matt Duffy: Notches rare steal
Duffy went 0-for-3 with a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Cubs.
Duffy got aboard on a fielder's choice in the second inning and proceeded to record his first steal of the season. The infielder last swiped a bag in 2021 when he picked up eight steals in 97 games with the Cubs. The 32-year-old has seen a little extra playing time lately with Maikel Garcia (ribs) dealing with a nagging injury. Duffy is slashing .258/.315/.319 with one home run, 12 RBI and 15 runs scored over 178 plate appearances, mainly serving as a short-side platoon option this season.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN
Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Leaves yard again Sunday
Suarez went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a win over the Astros on Sunday.
The slugger uncorked a 426-foot shot in the second inning with Josh Rojas aboard to double the Mariners' lead to 4-0 at the time. Suarez extended his on-base streak to 11 games in the process, a stretch during which his two extra-base hits have both been homers. While Suarez, who's left the yard 18 times overall this season, is off the pace of what would be a third straight 30-homer campaign, he's now only 10 RBI from eclipsing the 87 he compiled in his debut Mariners campaign in 2022.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Makes pinch-hit appearance
Garcia (ribs) went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit RBI-single in Sunday's loss to the Cubs.
Garcia entered as a pinch hitter for Matt Duffy in the ninth inning after sitting Saturday's game and notched a base hit which jumpstarted a late comeback that fell just short. The 23-year-old is still being viewed as day-to-day while he deals with inflammation near the left side of his ribs, but his appearance off the bench Sunday bodes well for his chances of returning to the lineup Monday versus the Athletics.

Gunnar Henderson 3B | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Four extra-base hits in win
Henderson went 4-for-5 with a home run, a triple, two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 12-1 win over the Athletics.
Henderson had a chance at the cycle, needing a single in his eighth-inning at-bat, but he hit an RBI double instead. While he struggled in Seattle in the first three games of Baltimore's nine-game road trip, he finished strong by going 12-for-26 (.462) with six extra-base hits over his last six contests. The infielder is at a .249/.331/.484 slash line with 21 homers, 61 RBI, 69 runs scored, six stolen bases, 19 doubles and six triples through 113 games overall.
-
Rafael Devers 3B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Three hits, homer in win
Devers went 3-for-4 with a double, a solo homer and two additional runs scored in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.
Devers opened the scoring in the first inning with a solo homer off Clarke Schmidt, his 29th long ball of the year and third in four games. The 26-year-old Devers feasted against Yankees pitching this weekend, going 9-for-13 (.692) with a pair of home runs in the three-game series. His slash line is up to .274/.347/.530 with 85 RBI and 69 runs scored across 499 plate appearances this season.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Continues ramping up toward return
Donaldson (calf) did sprints on the outfield grass at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Donaldson is on the 60-day IL due to a right calf strain and isn't eligible to return until mid-September. All indications are that he should be ready to go at that point, as the veteran has been doing work on the field for several weeks and has now progressed to sprinting. However, Donaldson isn't guaranteed a starting job upon his return, as he struggled to a .142/.225/.434 slash line (albeit with 10 homers) over 120 plate appearances prior to getting hurt.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Remains on bench Sunday
Garcia (ribs) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.
Garcia was removed from Friday's game due to costochondritis, which is inflammation near his ribs, and will be sidelined Sunday for the second straight game. It's not believed to be a serious issue, so he could rejoin the lineup in the near future. Matt Duffy will receive a turn at third base in his place Sunday in Chicago.
