  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Injures hand, X-rays negative

Moncada was pulled from Saturday's contest versus Seattle after being hit by a pitch in the right hand, though X-rays returned negative, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Moncada was plunked by a George Kirby fastball in the sixth inning and was in noticeable pain afterward. He was immediately replaced at first base by Kevin Newman and subsequently went in for X-rays. After that imaging came back negative for a fracture, Moncada is considered day-to-day. He went 0-for-2 with the hit-by-pitch before his exit.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Four hits in twin bill

Garcia went 4-for-7 with a home run, two triples, one walk, two RBI and two runs scored across both games of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Guardians.

Garcia had last hit a homer June 18 versus the Rangers, which was coincidentally the date of his last triple as well. During the 29-game homer drought, he hit a meager .225 and slugged just .297 while adding four stolen bases on six attempts. The infielder has maintained a starting role at third base despite the recent mediocre performance. He's now slashing .296/.351/.461 with nine homers, 43 RBI, 46 runs scored, 19 stolen bases, 26 doubles and five triples through 103 contests.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Yankees' Amed Rosario: Shipped to New York

The Yankees acquired Rosario in a trade with Washington on Saturday in exchange for Clayton Beeter and Browm Martinez, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Rosario adds considerable versatility to the Yankees' roster, as he has played third base, second base, shortstop and right field this season. Over 47 games with the Nationals prior to the trade, he slashed .270/.310/.426 with five homers, 18 RBI and one stolen base. Rosario has seen more at-bats against lefties than righties this season and has hit southpaws well throughout his career, so he could be an option to at least occasionally spell the newly acquired Ryan McMahon -- who figures to get most of the starts at the hot corner but has struggled to a .599 OPS against left-handed pitchers this season.

  • Will Wagner 2B | SD

Blue Jays' Will Wagner: Placed on restricted list

The Blue Jays placed Wagner on the restricted list Saturday.

The Blue Jays will grant Wagner some time away from the team to attend his father's Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown this weekend. Alan Roden will come up from Triple-A Buffalo to fill the opening on the active roster.

  • Tristan Gray SS | BOS

Rays' Tristan Gray: Dealt to Rays

The White Sox traded Gray to the Rays on Saturday in exchange for cash, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

After slashing .270/.333/.472 with nine homers and 44 RBI through 282 plate appearances at Triple-A Charlotte, Gray will return to the organization with whom he made his MLB debut in 2023. The 29-year-old will replace Coco Montes, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Yankees' Ryan McMahon: Set to debut Saturday

McMahon is expected to be available to make his Yankees debut Saturday against the Phillies, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

The Yankees acquired McMahon in a trade with the Rockies on Friday, but the veteran third baseman wasn't able to arrive in New York in time to make his debut in the series opener with the Phillies later that day. However, McMahon seems likely to be part of the starting nine Saturday, and he's slated to take over as New York's primary third baseman moving forward. Oswald Peraza and Jorbit Vivas have been splitting starts at the hot corner of late, and both are expected to see fewer opportunities now that McMahon is in the fold.

  • Max Muncy SS | ATH

Athletics' Max Muncy: Tending to hairline fracture

Muncy is dealing with a hairline fracture at the base of the fourth metacarpal on his right hand, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reported Friday.

Initial X-rays on Muncy's hand didn't reveal any significant injuries, but further evaluation revealed he's dealing with a hairline fracture. The infielder was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, but Friday's update could mean a longer absence is in store.

  • Mariners' Miles Mastrobuoni: Optioned to make room for Naylor

The Mariners optioned Mastrobuoni to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Mastrobuoni will lose his spot on the 26-man roster now that Josh Naylor (recently traded) has reported to the club. Mastrobuoni has slashed .252/.327/.293 with the Mariners and had recently been splitting time with Ben Williamson at third base.

  • Marcelo Mayer SS | BOS

Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: On IL with wrist sprain

The Red Sox placed Mayer on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to July 24, due to a sprained right wrist, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Mayer underwent an MRI on his wrist Thursday, and the evaluation determined he's dealing with a sprain. He'll require a stint on the injured list, opening up a spot on the 26-man roster for David Hamilton. Hamilton, Romy Gonzalez and Ceddanne Rafaela are the likeliest candidates to fill in for Mayer at second base.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Yankees' Ryan McMahon: Shipped to Yankees

The Yankees acquired McMahon from the Rockies on Friday in exchange for pitching prospects Griffin Herring and Josh Grosz, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

The Bronx Bombers will fill their lineup hole at third base by adding McMahon, who has spent his entire professional career with the Rockies since being selected in the second round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft. The 30-year-old has clubbed 16 homers with 35 RBI, 42 runs and a .217/.314/.403 slash line through 100 games this season. McMahon also has two years and $32 million remaining on his contract after 2025.
