Rays' Junior Caminero: Lands on MiLB IL
Caminero (quadriceps) was placed on the 7-day injured list Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Topkin notes that Caminero was diagnosed with a relatively minor left quad strain after being lifted from Triple-A Durham's game Sunday. If all goes well, the 20-year-old top prospect could return to play sometime next week.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Suffers fractured wrist
Jung has been diagnosed with a fractured right wrist, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
This is tough news for Jung and the Rangers after the 26-year-old missed time down the stretch of the 2023 season while rehabbing from a fractured left thumb that required surgery. It's too early for the club to provide a timetable for his return, but he figures to miss the rest of April and likely a good part of May, meaning significant playing time for Ezequiel Duran and Josh Smith at third base.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Removed following HBP
Jung left Monday's game against the Rays after being hit by a pitch, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
The location and extent of Jung's injury are unclear. Ezequiel Duran would be in line for work at the hot corner if Jung is forced to miss additional time.

Colt Keith 3B | DET
Tigers' Colt Keith: Takes seat Monday
Keith is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.
Keith will hit the bench for the first time in his young MLB career after starting each of the Tigers' first three contests in the season-opening sweep of the White Sox. Andy Ibanez will step in at the keystone for Keith, who went 1-for-11 with two walks in Chicago.

Rafael Devers 3B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Returns to action
Devers went 1-for-5 in Sunday's 5-1 win over Seattle.
Devers was back in action after missing two games due to a shoulder injury. He was back at third base and batted second.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Goes yard in big win
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 11-0 win over the Twins.
Garcia didn't show much pop last season with just four homers over 123 contests, but he's already halfway to matching that total in 2024. Both of his hits across three games this season half left the yard. Garcia has also struck out four times. The 24-year-old looks locked in as the Royals' third baseman and leadoff hitter, and he has plenty of protection in the lineup with Bobby Witt batting second.

Junior Caminero 3B | TB
Rays' Junior Caminero: Suffers quad injury
Caminero suffered a left quadriceps injury Sunday in Triple-A Durham's game against Norfolk, Kristie Ackert of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Prior to exiting the contest, Caminero went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a single, a walk and two runs scored. He pulled up lame running to first base before having to be helped off the field. The Rays' top prospect is expected to undergo further evaluation Monday, and his status moving forward will be worth monitoring. Any time Caminero might have to spend on Durham's 7-day injured list would obviously delay any potential promotion to the majors.

Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH
Athletics' Tyler Nevin: Claimed by Oakland
The Athletics claimed Nevin off waivers Sunday.
Nevin was designated for assignment by Baltimore after missing the Opening Day roster and will now receive an opportunity in Oakland. The 26-year-old spent last season with the Tigers and posted a .200/.306/.316 slash line in 41 games. Nevin has no minor-league options remaining and will join the Athletics' 26-man active roster.

Rafael Devers 3B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Back in action Sunday
Devers (shoulder) will be in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
The 27-year-old sat out the past two days with shoulder soreness but will rejoin the starting nine for Sunday's series finale in Seattle. Devers went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and two RBI on Opening Day before being scratched from Friday's lineup.
