  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Back in action Sunday

Devers (shoulder) will be in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

The 27-year-old sat out the past two days with shoulder soreness but will rejoin the starting nine for Sunday's series finale in Seattle. Devers went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and two RBI on Opening Day before being scratched from Friday's lineup.

  • Tyler Freeman 3B | COL

Guardians' Tyler Freeman: Getting run in center field

Freeman went 1-for-5 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 12-3 win over the Athletics.

Platoons are emerging in right field and at designated hitter, but the right-handed Freeman has started all three games in center field so far. He's done fairly well, going 3-for-12 with two RBI, two walks, two runs scored and one steal on two attempts. It's not enough to say confidently he'll be the starter in center all season -- the Athletics are a soft season-opening series for a Guardians team trying to figure out its best alignment. Still, it's encouraging Freeman is getting early at-bats, though he's yet to excel in any one area. Should Freeman stumble, Estevan Florial represents a possible platoon partner.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Takes seat Sunday

Urias is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Urias started the first two games of the season but will head to the bench Sunday after going 0-for-7 with a walk, two runs and a strikeout. Jordan Westburg will shift to the hot corner while Jorge Mateo starts at second base.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Hits homer in Triple-A opener

Miranda went 2-for-4 with a home run in Saturday's season-opening win for Triple-A St. Paul. He started at first base.

There's been conflicting reports about whether Miranda is at full strength to be able to throw from third base after offseason surgery to remove scar tissue from his right labrum and rotator cuff. He's set to play first base for St. Paul initially this season. As a result, he's not seen as a short-term option to help fill the void at third base with the Twins after the quad injury to Royce Lewis. Miranda could help force the issue if he continues his hot start to the season.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Homers in win

Jung went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 11-2 win over the Cubs.

Jung provided cushion with a two-run blast that was part of the Rangers' six-run eighth inning. He's played in two straight games after making just eight plate appearances during spring training due to a calf injury.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Homers, triples in win

Henderson went 3-for-4 with a triple, a home run, three RBI and two runs in Saturday's 13-4 win over the Angels.

The 22-year-old has opened the campaign as Baltimore's leadoff man, and he popped a solo homer on Griffin Canning's sixth pitch of the game Saturday. Henderson is 4-for-8 with a walk, three RBI and three runs through the first two games of the season, and he should continue to be a strong producer across the board for fantasy managers atop a potent Orioles lineup.

  • Zack Gelof 2B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Productive day in loss

Gelof went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in a loss to the Guardians on Saturday.

The Athletics lost for the third time in as many games to open the new campaign, but Gelof broke out of a season-opening 0-for-7 skid with his multi-hit effort. The 24-year-old more than held his own over his first 300 plate appearances against major-league arms last season, and his power-speed combination, combined with what he gleaned from that experience, could well lead to a full breakout 2024.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Hopeful of Sunday return

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Saturday that Devers (shoulder) is feeling better, and the skipper is optimistic the third baseman will return to the lineup Sunday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Devers is sitting out a second straight game Saturday with left shoulder soreness, but he was able to take some swings in the batting cage pregame and is trending in the right direction. Pablo Reyes is filling in at third base for Devers in Saturday's contest versus the Mariners.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Remains sidelined Saturday

Devers (shoulder) isn't in the Red Sox's lineup Saturday against the Mariners, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Left shoulder soreness caused Devers to be scratched from the lineup ahead of Friday's contest, and the issue is apparently severe enough to keep him from playing again Saturday. Pablo Reyes will start at third base and bat eighth while Devers recovers.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: MRI reveals bone fracture

Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed Saturday that LeMahieu has a non-displaced bone fracture in his right foot, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

LeMahieu was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday. He underwent an MRI on Friday, which revealed the bone fracture, and the veteran infielder will be re-imaged in two weeks. In LeMahieu's absence, Oswaldo Cabrera has drawn the starts at third base to start the season, but the newly acquired Jon Berti could also factor into the mix at the position.
