Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Rays.

Ramirez ended an 11-game homerless drought with his eighth-inning solo shot, which got him to the 35-homer mark for the third time in his career. The third baseman has gone 12 games without a multi-hit effort, but he's made the most of his trips on base with five stolen bases in that span. Ramirez has a .270/.329/.514 slash line with 107 RBI, 106 runs scored, 39 steals, 33 doubles and one triple across 146 contests this season.

Garcia went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, a run scored, an RBI and three stolen bases in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Pirates.

The Royals went 6-for-6 on steal attempts on the day, with Garcia leading the charge. The 24-year-old snapped a 12-game drought on the basepaths with the performance, a stretch in which he batted just .147 (5-for-34) and failed to even score a run. On the season, Garcia is slashing .238/.284/.343 with seven homers, 36 steals, 56 RBI and 84 runs in 144 contests.

Devers went 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Yankees. He was also hit by a pitch.

He was plunked by the second pitch he saw from Gerrit Cole, a suspicious occurrence given Devers' long track record of success against the right-hander, but it was Cole's intentional walk of the Boston star with the bases empty in the fourth inning that sparked both his bat, and the team's offense as a whole, to life. Saturday's performance snapped an eight-game RBI drought for the 27-year-old, and on the season Devers is slashing .278/.360/.531 with 28 homers, three steals, 83 RBI and 86 runs.

Mayo is not in Saturday's lineup against the Tigers.

Mayo looked to be gaining a hold on a regular role in the Orioles' lineup with consecutive starts Monday and Tuesday. However, he's now sat three games in a row -- all against right-handed starters. Emmanuel Rivera will take over at third base.

Vargas is not in Saturday's lineup against the Athletics.

Vargas has been getting regular run at third base for the White Sox, but he sits against some right-handed pitchers and Yoan Moncada (adductor) could eventually return to the hot corner. Vargas has just three hits across 22 at-bats with 10 strikeouts across eight games in September. Bryan Ramos will replace Vargas in the lineup Saturday.

Alvarez was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.

Alvarez had been with the big-league club since Aug. 27, though he had picked up eight at-bats in that span. He'll head back to the minors to make room for Tyler Soderstrom (wrist) to return from the injured list.

Barger will hit seventh and play third base Saturday against the Cardinals.

Barger was not in Toronto's original lineup but was inserted to replace the injured Leo Jimenez (finger). Barger has picked up only 18 at-bats so far in September, collecting three hits with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored.

DeJong isn't in the Royals' lineup Saturday versus Pittsburgh.

DeJong will sit for the second consecutive game after going 3-for-21 with an RBI and eight strikeouts to begin the month of September. Maikel Garcia will step in as Kansas City's third baseman and bat eighth.

Smith started at shortstop and went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.

Smith made a sixth consecutive start at shortstop, and the Rangers will now be without Corey Seager (hip, hernia) for the rest of the season. Smith should see the bulk of the time at shortstop to finish off what has been his best year in the majors. He's batting .264/.348/.403 with 12 home runs, 56 RBI, nine steals and 61 runs scored over 136 games.

Westburg (hand) has begun hitting in the cage and is participating in full baseball activities, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

It's another positive step in Westburg's recovery from a fractured hand he suffered in late July. The next step would be a rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie or Triple-A Norfolk. Before landing on the IL, Westburg was slashing .269/.317/.497 with 18 home runs and 58 RBI across 420 plate appearances.
