Braves' Ozzie Albies: Hits home run No. 20

Albies went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's blowout loss to the Reds.

Albies got into a Jeff Hoffman offering in the eighth inning and sent it over the wall in center field for his 20th home run of the season. He has gone yard in two straight games and in three of his past four, though he's hitting just .171 so far in August. Despite the recent skid, the 24-year-old leads the Braves with 76 RBI on the year and owns an .802 OPS in 490 plate appearances.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Cracks pair of extra-base hits

India went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and a walk in a 12-3 win over Atlanta on Thursday.

India led off the game with a double to snap out of a 1-for-12 skid. He later drilled a solo homer to center field in the third inning off of Josh Tomlin, India's 14th round tripper of the season. The rookie standout is hitting .281 with an .865 OPS in 436 plate appearances while adding eight stolen bases in 11 attempts.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Still dwelling with swelling

Rodgers remains day-to-day with right hand soreness, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Rodgers was out of the lineup again Thursday and has now remained sidelined since exiting Saturday's game. Manager Bud Black gave some additional insight into the injury, saying that Rodgers remains day-to-day while trainers try to get the swelling and soreness managed. It's unclear if Rodgers will end up on the injured list.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Sitting again Thursday

Rodgers (hand) is out of the lineup Thursday against the Giants, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Rodgers suffered a bruised right hand during Saturday's contest and hasn't appeared in a game since sustaining the injury. His absence will continue Thursday while Garrett Hampson starts at the keystone.

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Enters game as PH, plays RF

Rojas entered Wednesday's game in the seventh inning as a pinch hitter then finished up in right field. He went 0-for-2 with a strikeout.

Rojas was reinstated off the 10-day injured list Tuesday and started at second base, then was held out of the starting lineup Wednesday. Arizona's primary right fielder, Kole Calhoun, injured his hamstring in the second inning, and Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo first had Pavin Smith cover for him before Rojas entered the contest. While the injury could create more starting opportunities for Rojas, he is considered primarily a second baseman.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Wins game with walkoff homer

Albies went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, an additional run, a walk and a stolen base Wednesday in an extra-innings victory versus the Reds.

The second baseman scored Atlanta's first run following a first-inning single, but he saved his biggest hit for last. While trailing by a run with two outs in the 11th inning, Albies launched a three-run shot to right field to send the team home with a win. The long ball was his 19th of the campaign -- two of which have come in his past three games. Albies is nearing the career-high mark of 24 homers he set in both 2018 and 2019.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Rejoins big-league club

Estrada was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

The 25-year-old was optioned to Sacramento over the weekend but will rejoin the Giants a couple days later with Johnny Cueto (elbow) landing on the injured list. Estrada will fill a depth role in the infield with Brandon Crawford and Tommy La Stella now healthy.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | KC

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: On bench Wednesday

Rojas isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Rojas returned from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. While he should still see plenty of playing time now that he's healthy, Josh VanMeter will take over at second base and lead off Wednesday.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Not in Wednesday's lineup

India isn't starting Wednesday against Atlanta.

India will get a chance to reset after he went 1-for-12 with a double, two runs, a stolen base, a walk and four strikeouts in the last three games. Mike Moustakas will shift to the keystone while Eugenio Suarez starts at third base.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Remains sidelined Wednesday

Rodgers (hand) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Rodgers suffered a right hand contusion Saturday, and he hasn't appeared in either of the last two games. Whether he'll be available off the bench Wednesday remains to be seen, but Ryan McMahon will shift to the keystone while Taylor Motter starts at third base.
