  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Not in Thursday's lineup

Rodgers isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers.

Rodgers had started each of the last two games and went 2-for-8 with two RBI and three strikeouts. Garrett Hampson will take over at second base and bat seventh.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Retreats to bench

Guillorme isn't starting Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Guillorme started in five of the six games since returning from the injured list, and he went 3-for-15 with a run, five walks and five strikeouts during that time. Jose Peraza will start at second base and bat eighth.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Not in Thursday's lineup

Marte is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants.

Marte gets a rest despite the fact that he's recorded three multi-hit games in his last four contests. Pavin Smith will be the center fielder in his absence.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Strong performance Wednesday

Marte went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's loss against the Giants.

Marte has recorded two-hit performances in three of his last four contests, and he ended an eight-game drought without extra-base hits after hitting a two-run double in the top of the sixth. The seven-year veteran is having another strong year at the plate and is hitting .347 with a .391 on-base percentage -- both of which would represent career-best marks.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Overtakes Peraza on depth chart

Guillorme will start at second base and bat seventh Wednesday against the Cubs.

Since coming off the injured list Friday, Guillorme has picked up five starts in six games, with four of those assignments coming at second base. At this point, Guillorme appears to have surpassed Jose Peraza as the Mets' top option at the keystone, but both players will see their playing time dissipate if Jeff McNeil (hamstring) returns from the IL this weekend as anticipated.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Likely to play regularly vs. RHPs

Garcia, who was called up from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, is expected to see regular starts at second base versus right-handed pitching while Starlin Castro (personal) remains on the restricted list, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.

The 21-year-old will occupy the keystone and bat sixth Wednesday against the Pirates, while Jordy Mercer picks up the start at Castro's normal spot at third base. Meanwhile, Josh Harrison is sitting out the series finale in what amounts to a rest day, but he should be a fixture in the lineup against both right- and left-handed pitching. The lefty-hitting Garcia and righty-hitting Mercer will likely form a de facto platoon, with Garcia starting at second base and Harrison starting at third base versus right-handed pitching.

  • Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Progressing toward full activity

Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Gonzales (finger) could be cleared to resume full baseball activities by the end of June, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Gonzales, the No. 7 overall pick in last summer's first-year player draft, appeared in 13 games for High-A Greensboro before being shut down May 19 after fracturing his right pinkie finger. The 22-year-old is seemingly making good progress in his recovery, and assuming he experiences no setbacks once incorporating batting practice and fielding drills into his rehab program, he could be ready to rejoin the Greensboro lineup in early July.

  • Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM

Pirates' Ji-hwan Bae: Out 4-to-6 weeks with knee injury

Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Bae will be sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks with a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his knee, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Double-A Altoona shut Bae down after he sustained the injury in a June 8 game. The Pirates are optimistic that the 21-year-old shortstop will be ready to return from Altoona's 7-day injured list before the end of the minor-league season, but he likely won't be available until mid-July at the earliest.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Recalled by Nationals

Garcia was recalled by the Nationals on Wednesday, Maria Torres of The Athletic reports.

Garcia was sent to Triple-A Rochester at the end of May, and he hit .319 with three home runs, two doubles, 11 RBI and nine runs in 11 games during his most recent stint in the minors. He'll likely fill a depth role for Washington while Starlin Castro (undisclosed) is on the restricted list.

  • Isan Diaz 2B | DET

Marlins' Isan Diaz: Gets Wednesday off

Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Diaz is one of four Marlins regulars getting a breather in the series finale; he'll be joined on the bench by Starling Marte, Adam Duvall and Jesus Aguilar. Deven Marrero, who was called up from Triple-A Jacksonville earlier Wednesday, will slot in at third base in place of Diaz, who is slashing a poor .186/.321/.233 through his first 13 games of June.
