Braves' Ozzie Albies: On base four times in big win

Albies went 3-for-5 with a walk, two runs scored and three RBI in Monday's 12-2 rout of the Marlins.

The second baseman remains locked in at the plate and extended his hitting streak to six games, a stretch during which he's batting .393 (11-for-28) with four homers, two steals, eight runs and 11 RBI. Albies has run hot and cold all season, resulting in a .263/.326/.498 slash line, but he's tied his career high with 15 stolen bases. With 22 homers and 83 RBI, he sits two long balls and three RBI shy of tying his career-best marks in those categories as well.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Plates five runs Monday

India went 3-for-6 with a home run, a double, five RBI, two runs and a strikeout in Monday's 14-5 win over the Cubs.

India has recorded three hits in each of the last two games, and he came within a triple of hitting for the cycle in Monday's blowout win. The 24-year-old has three multi-hit appearances in his last five starts, and he's gone 8-for-23 with three home runs, two doubles, seven runs and seven RBI during that time.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Set to take swings Tuesday

Hoerner (oblique) went through fielding drills Monday and is slated to hit in the cage Tuesday, per manager David Ross.

This comes on the heels of Hoerner resuming baseball activities earlier this month, so the infielder is making steady progress as he attempts to return from a right oblique strain he suffered July 29. However, with the Cubs not in playoff contention, they figure to take things slowly with the 24-year-old in an effort to make sure he's fully healthy heading into the 2022 season.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Homers, doubles in loss

Rojas went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Padres.

Rojas homered in the fifth inning off Pierce Johnson, cutting the Diamondbacks' deficit to two runs. Over his last three games, he is 10-for-15 with four extra-base hits, four RBI and four runs scored. On the season, he is slashing .281/.366/.464 with 11 long balls, 32 RBI, 54 runs and seven steals in 385 plate appearances.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Swats leadoff home run

India went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, three runs and a strikeout in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Phillies.

India went 0-for-8 with six strikeouts across the last two games, but he bounced back in Sunday's series finale with a three-hit performance, including a homer to lead off the contest. The 24-year-old has shown increased power since the All-Star break, as he's slashed .289/.391/.596 with nine homers, 29 runs and 15 RBI since then.

  • Isan Diaz 2B | DET

Marlins' Isan Diaz: Benched in second straight

Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Diaz made four consecutive starts from Monday through Friday, but he's expected to serve as a utility infielder moving forward after Jazz Chisholm was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list earlier this weekend. Over 201 plate appearances on the season, Diaz is slashing .192/.299/.291 with three home runs and one stolen base.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Home-run streak reaches four games

Albies went 3-for-5 with a home run, a triple, three RBI and an additional run Saturday in Atlanta's 12-2 win over the Nationals.

Albies left the yard for the fourth game in a row and the fifth time in six games, bringing his home-run total up to 22 on the season and leaving him two shy of a career high in the category. He'll look to keep the momentum going in Sunday's series finale, batting leadoff against Nationals right-hander Paolo Espino.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Doubles twice, scores in win

Marte went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Padres.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Sent to Sacramento

Estrada was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.

Estrada has looked good in limited action this season, slashing .300/.371/.438 across 89 plate appearances at the big-league level. The Giants' roster is a crowded one, however, so he'll make way for Evan Longoria (shoulder), who returns from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Takes seat Saturday

Rojas is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres.

Rojas went 2-for-3 with a walk Friday and is 6-for-14 since returning from the injured list August 10. Josh VanMeter is playing second base and batting leadoff Saturday.
