Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Upcoming availability 'in question'
The availability of Lowe (shin) -- who is projected to remain on the 10-day injured list through the weekend series with the Orioles -- for next week's four-game series versus the Yankees remains "in question" according to manager Kevin Cash, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.
Lowe's goal of returning in the minimum time will officially go by the wayside Saturday, and the series versus New York would represent his next opportunity to suit up. As Cash's comments indicate, that possibility remains firmly up in the air, although the fact Lowe may be cleared to resume baseball activities this weekend is reason for some optimism.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Athletics' Marcus Semien: Laces RBI triple
Semien went 2-for-5 with an RBI triple in Friday's 5-1 win over the White Sox.
Semien also had a single in the fifth inning before the seventh-inning triple knocked in Josh Phegley for the Athletics' final run of the night. The three-bagger was Semien's third of the season. The shortstop is hitting .273/.350/.454 with 14 homers, 61 runs scored and 50 RBI this year while also adding five stolen bases.

Franklin Barreto LF | BAL
Athletics' Franklin Barreto: Out of Friday's lineup
Barreto is not in Friday's lineup against the White Sox.
Barreto has 10 strikeouts, two hits and three errors in 23 at-bats since rejoining the big club. While it was reported that Barreto would get the bulk of the starts at second base upon his promotion, he has done very little to suggest that should remain the case much longer. Jurickson Profar will start at the keystone and hit eighth.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Won't be ready for weekend series
Lowe (shin) is not expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list during the Rays' four-game series against the Orioles this weekend, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Lowe's bruised shin cost him the chance to participate in the All-Star Game, though he was originally tracking for a minimum-length stay. The 25-year-old now longer requires the assistance of a walking boot and could resume baseball activities this weekend, even though he won't be activated.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Striving for minimum IL stay
Lowe (shin) continues to progress in his recovery and is aiming to be available for a return to action when first eligible this coming Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The lower leg bruise already cost Lowe participation in the All-Star Game, but he's intent on it not docking him more than the minimum amount required by his injured-list stint. The infielder has taken significant leaps in all aspects of his game during 2019, and it appears he has a chance of quickly resuming his strong season if he remains free of setbacks the remainder of the week.

Luis Rengifo 3B | MIL
Angels' Luis Rengifo: On base four times in loss
Rengifo went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and a pair of runs in Sunday's loss to the Astros.
Rengifo served his role as the second leadoff man well, getting on base four times out of the ninth spot in the order. He'll end the first half with a respectable but not particularly noteworthy .260/.333/.379 slash line. He should have a regular role at second base for the next 8-to-10 weeks with Tommy La Stella out with a fractured tibia, so owners in deeper leagues could look his way for a competent fill-in at the position.

Tony Kemp 2B | MIN
Astros' Tony Kemp: Homers in win
Kemp went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run, a walk and a hit-by-pitch in Sunday's 11-10 win over the Angels.
Kemp started for the first time in a week and has just nine at-bats since June 19. The return of George Springer and addition of Yordan Alvarez have severely reduced his opportunities to play.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Athletics' Marcus Semien: Collects three hits including homer
Semien went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's victory over Seattle.
Semien led off the game with a single and came around to score on Matt Olson's home run, then swatted a long ball of his own to begin the second inning. With the productive day at the plate, Semien finishes the first half with a .269/.348/.441 slash line to go along with 14 homers and 47 RBI in 372 at-bats.

Luis Rengifo 3B | MIL
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Playing time opens up
Rengifo will start at second base and bat ninth Sunday against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Rengifo looked poised to lose playing time when Andrelton Simmons returned from the 10-day injured list June 27, but the rookie's playing-time outlook appears stable again after Tommy La Stella was recently ruled out for 8-to-10 weeks with a fractured tibia. With La Stella on the shelf, the Angels will likely rotate Matt Thaiss and David Fletcher at third base, which should open up the keystone for Rengifo on a near-everyday basis.

Harold Castro 2B | KC
Tigers' Harold Castro: Heads to bench
Castro is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Though he lacks a clear path to an everyday role at any position, Castro had started each of the past nine games thanks to his versatility. He saw action at six different spots, including his first career start at first base in Saturday's 10-6 loss, when he went 3-for-4 with a walk. Expect Castro to continue seeing at least semi-regular work coming out of the All-Star break.
