  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Casas is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.

Casas has not recorded a hit in 12 at-bats against left-handers at the big-league level, so he will be held out Tuesday with southpaw Nick Lodolo starting for Cincinnati. Yu Chang will man first base in Casas' place.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Knocks homer, double in win

Naylor went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run, a double and a walk in Monday's 11-4 win over the Twins.

Naylor led off the scoring in the first inning with his 18th homer of the season. This was his first multi-hit effort in 10 games -- he went 4-for-34 over the previous nine, though three of those hits were doubles. The 25-year-old improved his slash line to .256/.316/.447 with 69 RBI, 40 runs scored and five stolen bases through 111 contests. He's likely to remain on the strong side of a platoon at first base, though he also plays against some lefties.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Three hits in romp

Torkelson went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles and three runs scored in Monday's 11-0 win over the Orioles.

Torkelson played a big role in an easy Detroit win, and it was the rookie's second three-hit effort this month. It's been a tough debut season overall, though the 23-year-old is batting a solid .280 in September. Torkelson certainly has the pedigree, and he could be in line for a nice 2023 campaign if he carries over any momentum into the offseason.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Drives in four runs

France went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 9-1 win over the Angels.

France ripped an RBI double in the first inning and capped off his day with a three-run blast in the seventh. With that, the 28-year-old infielder has reached the 20-homer mark for the first time in his MLB career. He improved his slash line to .272/.336/.442 with 44 extra-base hits and 77 RBI through 126 games. However, France is hitting just .203 (13-for-64) since the start of September.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Mariners' Carlos Santana: Goes deep twice

Santana went 2-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Monday's 9-1 win over the Angels.

Santana hammered a grand slam in the fifth inning before tacking on a solo shot in the ninth. It's the second time he's hit a pair of homers in his last four games and he's gone deep seven times over the last nine games. He's now slashing .200/.317/.392 with 35 extra-base hits and 57 RBI through 116 games with the Mariners and Royals this season.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Back in action Monday

Mountcastle (triceps) is batting third as the designated hitter Monday versus the Tigers, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Mountcastle appears to have recovered from the tricep contusion, which he suffered on a hit-by-pitch in Saturday's game. He figures to share playing time at first base and designated hitter with Jesus Aguilar going forward.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Tallies three hits in return

Rizzo went 3-for-6 with a solo homer and two total runs during Sunday's 12-8 win over the Brewers.

Rizzo returned from the injured list for Sunday's series finale against Milwaukee after missing 17 days due to a head injury. He didn't miss a beat in his return to the lineup, and he's now hit .324 with three homers, seven runs and four RBI over his last 10 games.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Blasts grand slam Sunday

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a grand slam during Sunday's 11-5 win over the Tigers.

The White Sox had a somewhat slow offensive start to Sunday's game, but Vaughn gave the team a five-run lead with his grand slam in the top of the fifth inning. The 24-year-old has four extra-base hits over the last eight games, and he's hit .370 with two homers, two doubles, seven RBI and four runs over that stretch.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Tigers' Kody Clemens: Sent to Triple-A

Clemens was optioned to Triple-A Toledo after Sunday's loss to the White Sox, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The 26-year-old has started only two games in September and will now head to the minors with Miguel Cabrera (biceps) returning from the injured list. Clemens has struggled in his first taste of the big leagues this year with a .150/.205/.299 slash line in 50 games.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Activated, hitting second Sunday

Rizzo (head) was activated from the 10-day injured list and is hitting second Sunday against the Brewers, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Rizzo missed 17 days with a head injury and will return Sunday as anticipated. On the season, he is hitting .225 with 30 home runs, 71 runs, 71 RBI and six steals in 117 games.
