Quez Watkins WR | PHI
Quez Watkins: Released with injury settlement
The Cardinals released Watkins (undisclosed) from IR on Sunday with an injury settlement, per the NFL's transaction log.
Watkins suffered an undisclosed injury during practice early August and was placed on IR, but he'll now be eligible to sign elsewhere and play during the 2025 season, once fully healthy. He spent time on the Steelers' practice squad last year.

Bub Means WR | NO
Saints' Bub Means: Leaves with apparent injury
Means (lower leg) exited Sunday's preseason game against the Chargers due to an apparent lower leg injury, Jeff Nowak of Audacy Sports reports.
Means logged one reception for 12 yards before his departure Sunday. The 2024 fifth-round pick missed the final nine games of the regular season in his rookie year due to an ankle injury, but he was medically cleared back in January.

Chris Tyree WR | NO
Chris Tyree: Waived with injury designation
The Saints waived Tyree (undisclosed) with an injury designation Sunday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Tyree will revert to season-ending IR if he goes unclaimed on waivers. In that event, Tyree's only path to suiting up for action in 2025 will be for him to reach an injury settlement with New Orleans. He signed with the team in April after going undrafted out of Notre Dame.

A.J. Brown WR | PHI
Eagles' A.J. Brown: Returns to practice Sunday
Brown (hamstring) returned to practice Sunday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.
It remains to be seen whether Brown's able to participate without limitations, but this nonetheless marks a step in the right direction as he works his way back from a hamstring injury that had sidelined him for the past week. The Eagles have little reason to rush Brown's recovery process, and there have been no indications that his availability for the Thursday, Sept. 4 regular-season opener against the Cowboys is in any danger.

Alec Pierce WR | IND
Colts' Alec Pierce: Hurts groin in practice Sunday
Pierce suffered a groin injury during Sunday's practice, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 Indianapolis reports.
Pierce tried to return to practice after initially heading to the locker room due to the injury, but he was carted back to the locker room shortly afterwards. A recovery timetable has yet to be established, but if Pierce misses additional time due to this injury, it would create more opportunities for Adonai Mitchell to work in three-receiver sets alongside Josh Downs and Michael Pittman.

Konata Mumpfield WR | LAR
Rams' Konata Mumpfield: Won't miss time
Rams coach Sean McVay said Sunday that Mumpfield (ankle) won't miss any time after departing Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys early, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Mumpfield already appears healthy after suffering an ankle injury during Saturday's preseason game against Dallas. Expect him to take the field for preseason action against the Chargers on Saturday, Aug. 16, as he continues to compete for a depth roster spot at wide receiver.

D'Wayne Eskridge WR | MIA
Dolphins' Dee Eskridge: Suits up for preseason tie
Eskridge (hamstring) didn't catch his only target in Sunday's 24-24 preseason tie against the Bears. He also had a 41-yard kickoff return and a 16-yard punt return.
Eskridge hurt his hamstring Aug. 2 but was cleared for game action just over a week later. He's competing for a depth spot at wide receiver, and Eskridge's ability to contribute as a return man on special teams could be his key to making Miami's 53-man roster. Eskridge will look to bolster his case for a spot when the Dolphins continue preseason play Saturday against the Lions.

Alec Pierce WR | IND
Colts' Alec Pierce: Leaves practice due to injury
Pierce (undisclosed) exited Sunday's practice due to an injury, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 Indianapolis reports.
Pierce returned after originally heading to the locker room, but he limped off again after trying some agility work and was carted back inside. It's unclear if this injury is related to the foot injury that sidelined Pierce earlier in training camp. An update on Pierce's status likely will surface prior to the Colts' next preseason game against the Packers on Saturday.

Luther Burden III WR | CHI
Bears' Luther Burden: Two catches against Miami
Burden caught two of three targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 24-24 preseason tie against the Dolphins.
Burden was reasonably productive considering he played only the first half and the Bears didn't dress starting quarterback Caleb Williams. Burden could open the regular season as Chicago's No. 3 wide receiver behind DJ Moore and Rome Odunze if the rookie second-round pick beats out Olamide Zaccheaus and Devin Duvernay. Chicago's next preseason game will be this coming Sunday against the Bills.

Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN
Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Has minor injury
Head coach Mike McDaniel said after Sunday's 24-24 preseason tie against the Bears that Waddle (undisclosed) was held out because McDaniel didn't want starters playing through any minor injuries, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
McDaniel's statement implies that Waddle is currently working through a minor health concern. Waddle's participation in practice will bear monitoring ahead of the team's next preseason game against the Lions on Saturday, though the starting wide receiver is unlikely to face a lengthy absence.
