Diggs arrival in D.C. to be the Commanders' No. 2 option in the passing game should solidify him as one of the safest veteran high-floor players you could draft past Round 8 in full-PPR leagues. The soon-to-be 33-year-old had 10 games with 10-plus PPR points with the Patriots in 2025, but half were 15.6 or fewer, and that was as New England's top receiver. Washington is expected to move to a West Coast offense under first-time playcaller David Blough, and Terry McLaurin still figures to be the top target-getter. If you count on Diggs to come through for about six targets per game as a short- and mid-range target for Jayden Daniels, you shouldn't be disappointed. Draft accordingly with the idea of Diggs serving as an outstanding bench receiver who you might start a few times per year.
Diggs isn't in line to play in Friday's preseason contest versus the Dolphins.
After the Patriots released Diggs in March, he finally found in a landing spot in the early stages of training camp, inking a one-year, $12 million contract to join the Commanders. While he has a week of practice under his belt with his new squad, he'll have to wait until at least Saturday, Aug. 22 at Detroit to get some in-game preseason reps with new QB Jayden Daniels and top WR Terry McLaurin. In 17 regular-season games for New England last season, Diggs put together an 85-1,013-4 line on 102 targets.

Commanders' Stefon Diggs: Gets one-year, $12 million deal
Rotowire
Diggs is slated to sign a one-year, $12 million contract with the Commanders, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Diggs helped pace the Patriots' fourth-ranked pass offense in 2025, reeling in 85 of 102 targets for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in 17 regular-season contests. New England released him at the start of the new league year in March, and after legal issues were settled in May and the NFL closed its review of potential violations of the personal conduct policy in June, wide receiver-needy teams like the Commanders have been tied to him. With Washington finally coming to terms with Diggs, he'll join Terry McLaurin at the top of the WR corps for QB Jayden Daniels.

Commanders' Stefon Diggs: Heading to Washington
Rotowire
The Commanders and Diggs agreed to a contract Wednesday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, the two sides have been circling the wagons, and now Diggs will join his fourth different team in as many seasons. Diggs is coming off an 85-1,013-4 line on 102 targets in 17 regular-season games with the Patriots last season en route to an appearance in Super Bowl LX. In Washington, he'll create a top WR pairing with Terry McLaurin and be on the receiving end of passes from third-year QB Jayden Daniels.

Stefon Diggs: On Commanders' radar?
Rotowire
Diggs is reportedly on the Commanders' radar, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.
Per Fowler, the Commanders are in wait-and-see mode in terms of their wide receiver corps, but the team is monitoring the situation with Diggs, who the report suggests is intrigued by the chance to play for Washington. For now, Terry McLaurin is the team's clear-cut top WR, with all of Antonio Williams, Luke McCaffrey, Treylon Burks, Dyami Brown, Jaylin Lane and Van Jefferson competing for slotting behind McLaurin.

Stefon Diggs: Teams checking in
Rotowire
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, "at least five teams have been checking in on Diggs" ahead of the opening of NFL training camps.
After putting up a 85-1,013-4 line on 102 targets in 17 regular-season games during his only campaign with the Patriots, Diggs was let go in March and has yet to catch on elsewhere. While Fowler's report doesn't suggest that anything is imminent, Diggs does eventually figure to catch on with a team looking to bolster its WR depth, and depending on his landing spot, the 32-year-old could yield decent fantasy utility relative to his current average draft position.

Stefon Diggs: Views himself as better than WR2s
Rotowire
Diggs said on his YouTube channel that "You can't name a No. 2 better than me" when referring to wide receivers across the NFL, ESPN.com reports.
Diggs still views himself as one of the NFL's best wide receivers and believes he could earn a starting role on any team. The 32-year-old free agent exceeded 1,000 receiving yards in the 2025 regular season as the top option in the passing game for the Patriots, which marked the seventh time in the last eight campaigns that Diggs topped 1,000 yards. New England opted to cut Diggs rather than pay his $26.5 million salary cap hit in 2026, but he presumably wants to be paid like a starting wideout wherever he plays next.

Stefon Diggs: Open to playing for Commanders
Rotowire
Diggs recently told FOX 5 Washington DC that he anticipates signing with a team soon and has interest in playing for the Commanders.
Diggs grew up in Gaithersburg, Md., played his college ball at the University of Maryland and still lives in the same area during the NFL offseason. The Commanders, meanwhile, have more than $40 million in cap space and lack experienced starters at wide receiver opposite Terry McLaurin. It's not hard to connect the dots, especially after Diggs told a Washington news program that a homecoming was one of the first things he thought about when the Patriots released him in March. The NFL recently closed its review of Diggs for an alleged December dispute with his private chef, and now that a suspension is off the table, it sounds like the Commanders have serious competition to sign the 32-year-old wideout. He was a highly efficient possession receiver in his lone season with New England, catching 85 of 102 targets (83.3 percent) for 1,013 yards in 17 regular-season games, albeit with just four TDs and a long gain of 34 yards.

Stefon Diggs: NFL closes personal conduct review
Rotowire
The NFL has closed its review of Diggs after determining that there was insufficient evidence of a personal conduct policy violation stemming from an alleged dispute with his private chef this past December, ESPN.com reports.
Friday's decision arrives after Diggs was found not guilty last month of assaulting his private chef in a pay dispute, but at the time of the verdict NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy noted that the matter remained "under review of the personal conduct policy." Diggs, who was released by the Patriots in March, has yet to catch on elsewhere, but on the heels of a 2025 regular season in which he recorded an 85-1,013-4 line on 102 targets in 17 games, the 32-year-old is a candidate to garner interest in the coming weeks from teams still seeking to bolster their WR corps.

Stefon Diggs: Unlikely to re-sign with Patriots
Rotowire
Head coach Mike Vrabel suggested Wednesday that the Patriots aren't interested in re-signing Diggs at the moment, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. "Right now, I don't think that that's something that I think we're exploring," said Vrabel. "But I would never say no."
This doesn't seem like a fit for either party after the Patriots added A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs this offseason, but Vrabel at least wants to leave the door open in case Diggs can't find a better opportunity in free agency. The 32-year-old was found not guilty in May on charges related to an alleged dispute with his former private chef, though there is still some chance of the NFL disciplining Diggs for the alleged incident. For now, he remains unsigned, with rumors often connecting him to receiver-needy teams like the Chiefs, Ravens, Commanders and Falcons.

Stefon Diggs: Found not guilty
Rotowire
Diggs was found not guilty Tuesday on charges related to an alleged dispute last December with his former private chef, ESPN.com reports.
The alleged incident led to charges of felony strangulation and a misdemeanor assault and battery charge, for which Diggs pleaded not guilty in February. The aforementioned trial lasted two days before a ruling occurred, but he now awaits potential league discipline under the personal conduct policy. The Patriots released Diggs on March 11 after a one-year stint with the team in which he put together an 85-1,013-4 line on 102 targets in 17 regular-season games, marking the seventh time in the past eight campaigns in which he surpassed 1,000 receiving yards.

Stefon Diggs: Released by Patriots
Rotowire
The Patriots officially released Diggs on Wednesday.
On the heels of recording a 85-1,013-4 receiving line (on 102 targets) in 17 regular-season games during his lone campaign with the Patriots, the team -- as previously reported -- elected to part ways with Diggs for salary cap reasons. Since then, Romeo Doubs has been added by New England, while Diggs is now free to sign elsewhere. In the right spot, Diggs should have an opportunity to yield solid fantasy production in 2026, but it remains to be seen what the market will be for the 32-year-old wideout.

Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Set to be released
Rotowire
The Patriots informed Diggs on Wednesday that he will be released after the start of the new league year March 11, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Diggs rebounded well from an ACL tear that cut his 2024 campaign with Houston short, playing all 17 regular-season games for New England and totaling an 85-1,013-4 receiving line (102 targets) as the No. 1 receiver for Drake Maye in 2025. Per Pelissero, the transaction will allow the Patriots to avoid paying Diggs the $6 million option in his contract that would have become fully guaranteed next Friday, March 13. Now entering his age-33 season, Diggs will need to search for a new landing spot, while New England figures to prioritize searching for a new No. 1 wideout in free agency and/or April's draft. Diggs pleaded not guilty in mid-February to criminal charges stemming form an alleged dispute with his personal chef, which include include a charge of felony strangulation, and he has a pretrial hearing scheduled for April 1.

Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Pleads not guilty
Rotowire
Diggs pleaded not guilty Friday to criminal charges stemming from an alleged dispute Dec. 2 with his personal chef, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Diggs' attorney said the wide receiver "categorically denies" the allegations, which include a charge of felony strangulation. Diggs' arraignment was postponed until after the Super Bowl to allow him to play in the game. Following his Friday arraignment, Diggs is next scheduled to appear April 1 for a pretrial hearing.

Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Held to three catches in Super Bowl
Rotowire
Diggs recorded three catches (on three targets) for 37 yards in Sunday's 29-13 loss to the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX.
The Patriots couldn't sustain offense for the majority of the game and were playing with desperation by the time they were able to move the ball down the field late in the fourth quarter. That led to a very quiet game for Diggs, particularly considering that 26 of his 37 yards came on a reception with 2:58 remaining in the fourth quarter and with the Patriots down three scores. Though Diggs failed to surpass 40 receiving yards in any of New England's postseason games, he still managed 1,013 yards across 17 regular-season contests and remains a solid possession receiver. He is under contract with New England and very likely to be one of Drake Maye's top targets once again in 2026.

Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Revenge TD on Sunday
Rotowire
Diggs caught four of six targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' 28-16 win over the Texans in the divisional round.
Facing the team he played for in 2024, Diggs connected with Drake Maye on a seven-yard TD in the second quarter to give New England a 21-10 lead. The veteran wideout hasn't seen big volume through the Patriots' first two playoff contests, but he's turned 11 targets into a 6-56-1 line. Diggs will look to make an impact again next weekend in the AFC Championship Game against the Broncos.

Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Two catches in wild-card win
Rotowire
Diggs caught two of five targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 16-3 wild-card win over the Chargers.
Diggs tied Hunter Henry for the team lead in targets, but the former didn't make much of an impact in Sunday night's defensive battle, which had three times as many combined turnovers as touchdowns. New England will have another home game in the AFC divisional round, hosting either the leaky Steelers secondary or the stout Texans secondary. Diggs has been hit-or-miss in his postseason career, with 35 or fewer receiving yards in six of 15 such games and more than 100 yards in four playoff games.

Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Goes for 43 yards in easy win

Diggs caught all three of his targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Dolphins.
Diggs finished second on the team in receiving yards Sunday, trailing only Hunter Henry, who secured all five of his targets for 56 yards. Diggs wraps up the regular season having appeared in all 17 games while securing 85 of 102 targets for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. New England will host the Chargers for a wild-card playoff matchup next weekend in what will be a difficult-on-paper spot for Diggs.

Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Limited Friday, no Week 18 designation
Rotowire
Diggs (non injury-related/rest) was limited at practice Friday, but he doesn't carry a designation ahead of Sunday's regular-season finale against the Dolphins.
Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, the league is reviewing an alleged Dec. 2 incident that led to Diggs facing a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of assault. According to Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com, while the matter is under review as a potential violation of the league's personal conduct policy, the wideout is eligible to play, though it's possible Diggs' status could change as the legal process unfolds. As Week 18 approaches, Diggs leads the Patriots with 82 catches (on 99 targets) for 970 yards and four TDs in 16 regular-season contests.

Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Situation under league review
Rotowire
An alleged Dec. 2 incident that has led to Diggs facing charges is under review of the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Reiss notes that Diggs is facing a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of assault stemming from the alleged incident. According to a statement from the league, Diggs is eligible to play at this time, but he could be considered for placement on the Commissioner Exempt List "following formal charges in the form of an indictment by a grand jury, the filing of charges by a prosecutor, or an arraignment in a criminal court." The Patriots face the Dolphins in their regular-season finale Sunday.

Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Tops 100 yards in Week 17 win
Rotowire
Diggs caught all six of his targets 101 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 42-10 win over the Jets.
Diggs did all his damage in the first half, working as the clear No. 1 option in a receiving corps depleted by the absences of Kayshon Boutte (concussion) and Mack Hollins (abdomen, IR). The 32-year-old Diggs has exceeded 100 receiving yards in consecutive games for the second time this season and has cracked the century mark five times as a member of the Patriots. He's 14 months removed from tearing the ACL in his right knee. New England needs a Week 18 win over the Dolphins and a Broncos loss to the Chargers for the Patriots to get the No. 1 seed in the AFC and a wild-card round bye.
