Leiter threw a perfect inning while striking out two Thursday against the Cardinals.

Leiter was called upon to pitch the seventh inning and did so without issue, retiring the side in order. It marked the third consecutive scoreless outing for the right-hander, who has struggled mightily at times during his first season with the Athletics. Leiter has allowed multiple runs in four of his 20 appearances this year, contributing to a 7.64 ERA and 1.70 WHIP across 17.2 innings.

Benge went 2-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

The 23-year-old rookie swiped a bag for a second straight game and racked up multiple hits in a third straight. Benge has caught fire in May, hitting safely in nine of the last 10 contests while slashing .389/.450/.556 with three doubles, a homer, two steals, seven RBI and eight runs.

Gelof went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-4 loss to St. Louis.

Gelof got a center-cut fastball from Ryne Stanek in the seventh inning and sent it over the left-center field wall for his second long ball in as many games. It has been a scorching start to May for Gelof, who is slashing .308/.372/.692 with four homers, nine RBI and eight runs across 11 games this month. The 26-year-old is valued for his ability to play multiple positions around the diamond, but with Max Muncy (hand) sidelined, Gelof has seized regular playing time at third base.

Vientos went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

The 26-year-old launched a first-pitch cutter from Tyler Holton down the left-field line in the fifth inning, one of five long balls by the Mets on the afternoon. Vientos has been getting a chance to play every day at first base in the absence of Jorge Polanco (Achilles/wrist) and he's found his power stroke as a result. Through 11 games in May, Vientos is slashing .250/.283/.568 with two doubles, four homers and 11 RBI.

Semien went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

The veteran second baseman took Ricky Vanasco deep in the eighth inning, the fifth of five Mets long balls on the afternoon. Semien has had a sluggish start to his tenure with his new team, but he may be getting comfortable -- over the last eight games, he's batting .310 (9-for-29) with a double and two of his three homers on the year, as well as a 4:5 BB:K.

Baty went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

The utility player took Keider Montero deep in the fourth inning, tying the game at 3-3 before the Mets turned on the jets in an eventual 9-4 victory. It was Baty's first long ball since April 23, snapping a 17-game drought, and just his second of the season. Through 138 plate appearances, he's slashing .220/.290/.333 with two steals, 15 RBI and 17 runs.

Perkins (2-2) blew the save and took the loss Thursday as the A's fell 5-4 to the Cardinals. He allowed two runs on three hits, no walks and a hit-by-pitch with no strikeouts over two-thirds of an inning.

The right-hander entered with a one-run cushion in the ninth inning but plunked JJ Wetherholt with two outs, opening the door for an Ivan Herrera game-tying single and a go-ahead double from Jordan Walker. Perkins had emerged as a trusted high-leverage arm for manager Mark Kotsay after a strong start to the season, but he has faltered of late. The 26-year-old has surrendered five earned runs across his past four outings, including a pair of blown saves. Overall, Perkins owns a 4.76 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB with three saves in five chances across 17 innings in 2026.

Soto went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

The 27-year-old superstar didn't seem affected by the ball he fouled off his foot Wednesday, launching a solo shot off Brenan Hanifee in the seventh inning as the Mets' offense erupted for five homers in the series finale. It was Soto's fifth long ball of the season and his second in 12 May contests, a month in which he's slashing just .174/.250/.348 with one steal, five RBI and six runs.

Bachar struck out two over two perfect innings of relief in Thursday's loss to the Twins.

The right-hander entered the game for the sixth inning with the Marlins down 6-0, breezing through two frames on 23 pitches (16 strikes). Bachar has an impressive 2.05 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB through 22 innings over 13 appearances, but he has zero wins or saves and just one hold to show for it as he remains in a low-leverage role.

Skubal (elbow) has resumed playing catch, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Skubal is barely more than a week removed from surgery to remove a loose body from his left elbow, so it's remarkable that he's already throwing. The procedure was performed with a nanoneedle, which significantly reduced post-surgical swelling in the joint and could shorten the timeline for Skubal's return from two-plus months to just six weeks if all goes well. A return date for the two-time AL Cy Young winner should come into focus in the coming weeks as he ramps up his throwing progression.
