Kwan isn't in the starting lineup Saturday against Detroit.

The lefty-hitting Kwan will get a breather with the Tigers sending southpaw Tarik Skubal to the mound. Kwan has a meager .525 OPS against lefties this season as opposed to a .622 OPS versus righties, and he's been out of the lineup in two of the past three games -- both against southpaw starters.

Nimmo isn't in Texas' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

It's just a scheduled day off for Nimmo, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. The versatile Ezequiel Duran is shifting to right field in Nimmo's stead Saturday.

Young isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Young will move to the bench to begin Saturday's game after going 0-for-3 with a couple of strikeouts Friday. Daylen Lile, Dylan Crews and James Wood will form Washington's outfield unit while Young rests.

Seager (ribs/jaw) isn't in the starting lineup versus Boston on Saturday.

Seager was involved in a collision at home plate Thursday against Kansas City and will sit out a second straight game due to resulting injuries to his ribs and jaw. However, he's reportedly feeling better, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News, and is considered day-to-day. Nicky Lopez is starting at shortstop Saturday in Seager's stead.

Ruiz isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Seattle.

Ruiz went 0-for-3 during Friday's loss, snapping a five-game hitting streak, and will begin Saturday's contest on the bench while Drew Millas catches for starting pitcher Cade Cavalli.

Caissie isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Caissie will get a chance to regroup after going just 2-for-24 at the plate since the beginning of the month. While he sits, Heriberto Hernandez, Jakob Marsee and Kyle Stowers will start across Miami's outfield.

Texas recalled Freeman from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Freeman previously had a short stint with the Rangers in early June and got into one game, going 1-for-2 with a strikeout against St. Louis on June 3. He's now back with the big club to take the 26-man roster spot vacated by Evan Carter, who landed on the IL with an oblique strain. Freeman probably won't see everyday at-bats, but he's starting at second base Saturday and gives the Rangers a versatile option who can play multiple positions in both the infield and outfield.

Mack isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Mack will step out of the lineup Saturday after going 0-for-6 with a walk and two strikeouts across his last two games. Liam Hicks will move behind the plate as a result, putting Otto Lopez in the DH spot and giving Leo Jimenez a start at third base.

Ohtani (knee) will serve as the Dodgers' designated hitter and bat leadoff Saturday against the White Sox.

Ohtani left Thursday's game early due to knee inflammation and didn't play Friday, but he seems to be ready to go Saturday after getting some rest. The two-way star has been surging at the plate this month, slashing .444/.535/.833 with three homers, nine RBI and 11 runs scored in nine games since June 1.

The Rangers placed Carter (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Saturday.

Carter suffered the injury while making a diving catch Friday versus Boston and has subsequently been diagnosed with an oblique strain, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News, and he will miss at least 10 days -- though oblique issues often require a longer absence. Cody Freeman was recalled from the minors to take Carter's spot on the 26-man roster, and Michael Helman could see the bulk of the starts in center field while Carter is sidelined.
