Campusano is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against Miami.

After going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts during Thursday's series finale against Colorado, Campusano will rest for Friday's series opener against the Marlins. Manny Machado will slot in as the designated hitter, while Ethan Salas will catch and bat ninth for San Diego.

Lawlar is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against the Yankees.

Lawlar will miss his second straight game as Arizona opens a three-game series with the Yankees on Friday. Tim Tawa will take over for Lawlar in center field and bat ninth.

Ortiz is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in St. Louis.

Ortiz started each of the previous three contests against righties, but he will take a seat Friday as the Cardinals send right-hander Kyle Leahy to the bump. Yohandy Morales will play first base and will bat seventh for the Nationals.

Ruiz is not in the lineup for Friday's game in St. Louis.

Ruiz is slashing .310/.366/.451 in the second half but has been splitting reps at catcher with Harry Ford over the past several weeks. It will be Ford behind the dish and batting eighth in Friday's series opener.

Alvarez is absent from the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Phillies.

Alvarez had a two-homer game earlier this month but has gone 4-for-30 at the plate since. He will yield to Luis Torrens at catcher Friday.

Ashcraft (arm) played catch Friday but is not expected to return this season, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Ashcraft landed on the 15-day injured list last week with right arm discomfort. He received multiple medical opinions and his injury is not considered serious, but the Pirates will not push the right-hander to return before the end of the season. Ashcraft had a breakout year for Pittsburgh, logging a 3.65 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 173:35 K:BB over 165.1 innings covering 28 starts.

The Mets placed Young on the 7-day concussion injured list Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Young's season is over after he had to be taken off the field on a stretcher in Thursday's game versus the Phillies after taking a knee to the head on a play at first base. He is dealing with concussion symptoms including short-term memory loss and bad headaches, but interim manager Andy Green said that Young is doing "as good as expected or could be hoped for."

Goodman (thumb) will start at catcher and bat cleanup in Friday's game versus the Mariners.

Goodman missed four of the previous five contests while dealing with a nagging right thumb injury, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in Friday's series opener. The All-Star catcher is two home runs away from 40 for the season.

Gorman is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Nationals.

Gorman has received the lion's share of playing time at third base since being recalled from Triple-A Memphis in late August, but he's gone just 9-for-57 (.157) with a 30.6 percent strikeout rate during that stretch. With JJ Wetherholt and Masyn Winn both now healthy, there will be fewer at-bats to be had in the St. Louis infield for players like Gorman. Thomas Saggese is handling third base for the Cardinals on Friday.

Mayza will serve as the opener for the Phillies in Friday's game against the Mets, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Mayza will likely handle the first inning before Jose Urquidy takes over in bulk relief. The left-hander has been excellent this season when used as an opener, allowing just one run with a 10:1 K:BB over 9.1 frames.
