Meyer took a no-decision Saturday against Milwaukee, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks in three innings. He struck out five.

Meyer labored Saturday, needing 74 pitches to complete three frames in his shortest outing of the campaign. The Marlins opted to give the 27-year-old extra rest ahead of the All-Star break and skip his final turn through the rotation of the first half, and Meyer showed signs of rust in the aftermath. The right-hander should revert to more typical rest ahead of his next appearance against the Padres, still holding a strong 2.68 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 121:41 K:BB over a career-high 111 innings.

Murphy took a no-decision Saturday against Texas, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks in 2.2 innings. He struck out two.

Making his first career big-league start following a pair of relief appearances, Murphy struggled to contain the Rangers on Saturday. A fielding error by Mauricio Dubon kept an earned run off Murphy's line in the third inning, but the rookie right-hander failed to throw a clean frame. If Martin Perez (forearm) isn't ready to rejoin Atlanta's rotation, Murphy could get another chance as a starter next week against the Padres.

Swanson went 1-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Twins.

Swanson tallied his third triple of the season as he helped lead the Cubs to the victory Saturday afternoon. The veteran shortstop is batting just .209, which is down from his career .248 mark, though he's still managed to provide fantasy value with 16 home runs and 13 stolen bases. Swanson has also played in all but four of Chicago's games so far, and he should continue to see consistent playing time during the second half as he seeks his second straight 20-20 campaign.

Canning (1-8) took the loss Saturday against the Royals, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks across 3.2 innings. He struck out four.

Canning hasn't been able to get through five frames in any of his last five outings -- he's allowed 13 runs across 17.1 innings during that span. Overall, the right-hander's ERA sits at 6.67 with a 1.62 WHIP and 59:32 K:BB across 59.1 innings this season. Canning is currently in line to face the Marlins on the road his next time out.

Busch went 1-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Twins.

Busch also struck out three times Saturday, but fantasy managers will surely take the power production, as he's now up to 12 home runs and 51 RBI through 97 games. The Chicago first baseman is riding a modest four-game hitting streak, which has helped push his overall slash line up to .239/.367/.400. The batting average and slugging percentage are down from Busch's breakout 2025 regular season, though his current on-base percentage would represent a career best.

Hoerner went 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Twins.

Hoerner set a season high in hits as he helped power the Cubs to their first win of the second half. The speedy infielder came into the All-Star break mired in a 1-for-18 slump over his previous five games, but he's started the series against Minnesota by going 6-for-8 over two contests. Hoerner is still batting just .243 for the season, though his career .277 mark provides reason to believe he should improve in that category.

Smith-Shawver (elbow) allowed four hits and one walk while striking out five across 4.1 scoreless innings during his rehab start Saturday with Triple-A Gwinnett.

Smith-Shawver generated 13 whiffs on 72 pitches (43 strikes), and his fastball touched just over 99 mph during Saturday's rehab outing. His rehab assignment is set to run out July 29, so he could make at least a couple of more starts in the minors if Atlanta wants him to build up his pitch count further. Smith-Shawver is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent last June.

Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said after Saturday's 8-6 loss to the Brewers that Lopez will get his right ring finger tested after a ground ball "got the nail pretty good," Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Lopez took a ground ball to his right ring finger in the second inning of Saturday's game. He was able to stay in the contest, but he'll undergo more tests to determine the severity of the injury. Leo Jimenez and Javier Sanoja could see some reps at shortstop if Lopez were to miss time.

Pfaadt (4-1) earned the win against the Cardinals on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Pfaadt opened with five scoreless innings before allowing two runs in the sixth, limiting the Cardinals to only five hard-hit balls despite generating just three whiffs on 87 pitches. The 27-year-old has been steady in four games since re-entering the rotation June 30, going 4-0 while completing at least five frames in each outing and allowing just five total earned runs over that span. He'll take a 4.58 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 44:18 K:BB across 59 innings this season into a road rematch with St. Louis next week.

May (5-7) took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Saturday, allowing five runs on eight hits and four walks with six strikeouts over five innings.

May yielded runs in three separate frames, issuing four walks for the second straight contest while generating 10 swinging strikes on 98 pitches. It was the first time the 28-year-old completed five frames in five turns since tossing a complete-game shutout June 15, a stretch that has included three outings with five or more earned runs allowed. He'll carry a 4.78 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 95:32 K:BB across 98 innings this season into a home rematch with Arizona next week.
