The veteran third baseman hit just .083 in his first 13 appearances in May, though he's logged at least one hit in four of his last five outings since. Robby Snelling SP | MIA
Marlins' Robby Snelling: Moves to 60-day IL
The Marlins transferred Snelling (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.
Snelling is set to meet with Dr. Keith Meister on Thursday to determine whether surgery is necessary to repair the sprained UCL in his left elbow. The young southpaw is facing an extended absence regardless of whether he needs to go under the knife, so the Marlins will stash him away on the 60-day IL. The move clears space on the 40-man roster for Rece Hinds, who was acquired in a trade with the Reds on Thursday.

Bryce Eldridge DH | SF
Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Doubles in defeat
Eldridge went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Eldridge hit an RBI double in the second inning to give San Francisco an early 2-1 lead, albeit in a losing effort. The 21-year-old's two-bagger was just his second extra-base hit of the season. Eldridge has logged at least one hit in each of his last two appearances and is now slashing .156/.229/.281 with two RBI, a run scored and a home run across 35 plate appearances on the campaign.

Chris Devenski RP | PIT
Pirates' Chris Devenski: Nearing return
Devenski (illness) was cleared to resume all baseball activities last week and began throwing bullpen sessions May 13, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Devenski was placed on the shelf May 7 due to an unspecified illness, but he seems to be making good progress in his recovery. The veteran right-hander could be cleared to head out on a brief rehab assignment in the coming days before returning from the 15-day injured list.

Luis Garcia 1B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Sitting again Thursday
Garcia is out of the starting lineup for the series finale against the Mets on Thursday.
Washington will trot out Andres Chaparro at first base for a second straight game as the left-handed-batting Garcia rides the bench against Mets southpaw David Peterson. Despite not receiving the start, Garcia pinch hit for Chaparro in the fifth inning Wednesday when the Mets brought in right-hander Austin Warren and remained in the game, going 1-for-2 with a single.

Kyle Hurt RP | LAD
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Extends scoreless streak
Hurt notched a hold against the Padres on Wednesday, allowing two hits and striking out one batter over one scoreless inning.
Hurt was deployed in a high-leverage situation, entering in the eighth frame with the Dodgers up 3-0. He allowed two singles (one of which was an infield hit) but managed to get out of the inning unscathed in the scoring column by inducing a double play. Hurt gave up a run in his first outing of the season (April 15 versus the Mets) but has since tossed 13 straight scoreless frames over 13 appearances, posting a dominant 0.69 WHIP and 14:2 K:BB during that span. Hurt didn't record a hold in any of his first nine outings but has two over six appearances since. Given how effective he's been, he may be looking at more frequent high-leverage work moving forward.

Graham Pauley 3B | MIA
Marlins' Graham Pauley: Recalled from Triple-A
The Marlins recalled Pauley from Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Since being demoted to Triple-A two weeks ago, Pauley has gone 8-for-36 with three homers, six RBI, six runs scored and a steal over nine games. He'll now return to Miami to replace the injured Leo Jimenez (neck) as infield depth for the Marlins.

Zach McCambley RP | CIN
Reds' Zach McCambley: Dealt to Reds
The Reds acquired McCambley from the Marlins on Thursday in exchange for Rece Hinds, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
McCambley was a Rule 5 pick of the Phillies over the offseason but was returned to the Marlins. He's now on the move again and will give the Reds bullpen depth at Triple-A Louisville. McCambley has collected a 2.36 ERA and 32:17 K:BB across 26.2 frames this season at Triple-A Jacksonville.

Blake Treinen RP | LAD
Dodgers' Blake Treinen: Notches sixth hold
Treinen pitched a perfect inning and picked up his sixth hold while striking out a batter in a 4-0 win over San Diego on Wednesday.
Treinen entered in the seventh inning and retired the side in order, maintaining the 3-0 lead for the Dodgers. The 37-year-old's scoreless inning marked his fifth such frame in his past six appearances. The right-hander has a 3.31 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB through his first 16.1 innings while filling a setup role that's helped net him six holds.

Rece Hinds RF | MIA
Marlins' Rece Hinds: Traded to Marlins
The Marlins acquired Hinds from the Reds on Thursday in exchange for Zach McCambley, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
Hinds had been designated for assignment by Cincinnati and will now get a fresh start in a new organization. The 25-year-old has huge raw power and has slashed .306/.423/.635 with seven home runs in 23 games this season at Triple-A Louisville. The downside with Hinds is that he has major contact issues, having posted a 42.0 percent strikeout rate thus far at the big-league level. Hinds will likely report to Triple-A Jacksonville initially.
