Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and three runs scored in Friday's 11-1 win over the Cubs.

Nimmo was active early, walking and scoring a run in the first inning and hitting a home run in the second. He then singled and scored again in the fourth frame. Since moving to second in the lineup June 13, Nimmo has five multi-hit games, three home runs, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored. Martinez went 1-for-10 in a quiet series against the Rangers earlier this week but continued a nice June, as he's now hitting .297 with four home runs and 17 RBI in 64 at-bats. On the season, he owns a .287 average with nine homers and 31 RBI in 178 at-bats.

Biggio isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Rockies' Sam Hilliard: Set to join big club

The Rockies are set to select Hilliard's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Hilliard began the year in the minors, and over 65 games he has a slash line of .288/.374/.542 with 14 home runs, 44 RBI and 13 stolen bases over 305 plate appearances. Hilliard's promotion comes with Charlie Blackmon headed to the injured list due to a strained right hamstring.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Mets' Jose Quintana: Strikes out eight in win

Quintana (3-5) earned the win against the Cubs on Friday, allowing one unearned run on four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 6.1 innings.

Quintana allowed an unearned run in the first inning but cruised from there with plenty of run support, as the Mets scored 11 runs in the first four frames. The southpaw surpassed the season-high six strikeouts he recorded June 15 in his last outing, and he registered his second consecutive victory and quality start. On the season, Quintana owns a 4.58 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 58:26 K:BB over 78.2 innings and lines up to face the Astros next week.

Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Crushed for 10 runs in second loss

Imanaga (7-2) took the loss to the Mets on Friday, allowing 10 runs on 11 hits and one walk with three strikeouts over three-plus innings.

Imanaga was hit hard early and often, surrendering six runs on three home runs in the first two innings and another run in the third. He was unable to record an out in the fourth frame and was charged with three more runs, resulting in the worst outing of his major-league career. In total, Imanaga allowed 11 hard-hit balls, and the velocity on each of his pitches was at least one mph below his season averages. Imanaga's ERA rose from 1.89 to 2.96 with a 1.10 WHIP and 81:12 K:BB over 79 innings. He'll look to rebound in a matchup with the Giants next week.

The Rockies placed Blackmon on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to June 19, due to a right hamstring strain.

Prior to the injury, Blackmon was slashing .333/.397/.509 with 10 runs, seven doubles and two RBI over 57 at-bats in June. In Blackmon's absence, Jake Cave and Sean Bouchard are likely to form a platoon in right field.
