Feduccia (illness) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Feduccia left Tuesday's game in the seventh inning due to an ailment, and the Dodgers will give him another day to recover while Ben Rortvedt starts behind the plate Wednesday.

Trevino will start at catcher and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Trevino will crack the lineup for the second time in three games, and though he doesn't project to unseat Tyler Stephenson as the Reds' No. 1 backstop anytime soon, he could see a slight uptick in playing time while Cincinnati carries a third catcher on the roster (Will Banfield). The presence of Banfield will allow Trevino and Stephenson to be a part of the same lineup for the first time all season, as Stephenson will serve as the designated hitter Wednesday.

Jordan will start at third base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Jordan will pick up his sixth consecutive start after going 5-for-20 with a home run, a triple, a walk, three RBI and two runs over the prior five contests. The Cardinals had previously been using Jordan primarily against lefties, but the rookie has now cracked the lineup in three straight matchups versus righties. Manager Oliver Marmol appears to be giving Jordan another look as an everyday player at the hot corner, with Jose Fermin moving back into more of a utility role as a result.

Mitchell isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against Seattle due to foot soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Mitchell went 4-for-6 and scored two runs during Milwaukee's 22-0 rout of the Mariners on Tuesday but evidently picked up a foot injury in the process, so the Brewers will give him a day off as a precaution. Luis Lara will patrol center field as a result, moving Jake Bauers into right field and opening first base for Andrew Vaughn.

Fermin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

On the bench for the fourth time in six games, Fermin might be moving back into more of a utility role after he had previously been seeing steadier playing time between third base and the outfield. With outfield prospect Joshua Baez handling an everyday role since getting the call to the big leagues last weekend and with rookie Blaze Jordan beginning to regain traction at the hot corner, Fermin's primary avenues to playing time have been closed off.

The Dodgers designated Hernandez for assignment Wednesday.

Hernandez will be pushed off the Dodgers' 40-man roster for the second time in as many weeks to make room for Brock Stewart (shoulder), who returned from the injured list Wednesday. Hernandez has logged a 5.68 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 25.1 innings in the majors this year and is likely to clear waivers again.

The Dodgers reinstated Stewart (shoulder) from the injured list Wednesday.

Stewart landed on the injured list at the end of July due to shoulder tendinitis, and he's now been cleared to rejoin the Dodgers' bullpen without playing in any rehab games. The 34-year-old lefty has given up just four earned runs in 14.2 innings this season, and he could be a candidate to pick up an occasional save while Edwin Diaz (neck) is on the injured list.

The Rockies reinstated Hill (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Right shoulder tendinitis has kept Hill out of action since late June, but he's now been cleared to return after spending nearly two months on the shelf. The 26-year-old posted a 5.06 ERA and 1.65 WHIP over 26.2 innings before getting hurt, but Colorado's lack of bullpen depth could allow him to work in high-leverage situations, as he already has two saves and 11 holds on the season. TJ Shook was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

Gilbert is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

After starting each of the last three games, the left-handed-hitting Gilbert will head to the bench while southpaw Parker Messick takes the hill for the Guardians. Jonah Cox will spell Gilbert in center field and bat leadoff.

Giants manager Tony Vitello indicated Wednesday that Mayer (forearm) could return from the 10-day injured list and make his team debut Monday versus the Reds, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Vitello had previously floated the possibility of Mayer being activated from the 10-day injured list this weekend, and while a return to action for the team's series in Boston hasn't been ruled out, the Giants seem to be leaning toward waiting until the start of a homestand Monday to reinstate the infielder. Mayer has been out since late June with a left forearm stress reaction but has played four rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento, going 6-for-17 with one home run and a 2:9 BB:K while making three starts at second base and one at third base. Once activated, Mayer should be in line for an everyday role in the San Francisco infield.
