Joseph Ortiz SS | MIL
Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Hitting bench Tuesday
Ortiz is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.
Though he'll head to the bench Tuesday, Ortiz may have recaptured a regular role on the left side of the Milwaukee infield. He occupied shortstop in each of the last five games, going just 2-for-14 but drawing four walks during that stretch. Ortiz will take a seat in favor of Luis Rengifo, who will enter the starting nine at third base while David Hamilton slides over to shortstop.

Logan Webb SP | SF
Giants' Logan Webb: Returning Friday in Colorado
Webb (knee) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday against the Rockies, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Manager Tony Vitello previously disclosed the team's plan for Webb to return this upcoming weekend, and Friday is now official. Prior to landing on the IL, Webb had posted an uncharacteristically high 5.06 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 48 innings spanning eight starts for San Francisco. Webb made a rehab start at Triple-A last Friday, allowing one unearned run on two hits and three walks while striking out two over 3.1 innings (62 pitches).

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Cubs' Matthew Boyd: Making rehab start Sunday
Boyd (knee) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
The veteran southpaw is ready to return to a competitive setting a little over three weeks after undergoing a menisectomy on his left knee. Boyd did not need a full repair of his meniscus, and with his assignment to Iowa for his first rehab outing, it seems possible that he will beat his initial six-week estimated return timetable. This is Boyd's second IL stint already this season, as he spent time on the shelf in April with a biceps strain.

Mookie Betts SS | LAD
Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Batting cleanup
Betts is batting cleanup and starting at shortstop Tuesday versus the Rockies.
Betts has struggled since his return from an oblique strain with a .494 OPS across 12 games since May 11. The 33-year-old hasn't quite looked like himself since 2025 after he missed games at the beginning of that season due to an illness. As his issues at the plate have continued into 2026, the Dodgers seem to be trying to shake things up with the batting order. Andy Pages has the shortstop's typical spot in the two hole.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Out Tuesday, as expected
Muncy (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.
As expected, Muncy will miss a fourth consecutive start after being hit on the wrist by a pitch Friday. Manager Dave Roberts said Monday that he was hoping to have Muncy back in action Wednesday, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, though the team is also not ruling out the possibility of an IL stint if Muncy is still limited in the coming days.

Daniel Susac C | SF
Giants' Daniel Susac: Resting Tuesday
Susac is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks.
Susac went 1-for-11 in the three games he started after his last game on the bench May 22. As he rests Tuesday, Eric Haase starts behind the plate, batting eighth.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Giants' Luis Arraez: Getting rare day off Tuesday
Arraez is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks.
Arraez is taking a seat for the first time since May 6, which is when he sat due to a sore thumb. Since then, the infielder has a slashed .324/.397/.485 across 17 games. While the left-handed bat of Arraez takes a seat Tuesday, Casey Schmitt will start at second while Bryce Eldridge serves as the designated hitter.
