A.J. Puk RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' A.J. Puk: Winds up with save
Puk picked up the save Sunday against Pittsburgh, striking out one during two-thirds of a perfect inning.
Puk took over with runners on the corners and one out after Ryan Thompson yielded an RBI single to Bryan Reynolds to bring the Pirates within one run. Puk got the Diamondbacks out of the jam, retiring Oneil Cruz and Bryan De La Cruz to end the game and pick up his first save for Arizona. With Paul Sewald being removed from the closing role, it's been Thompson who's received the first two save chances. However, Thompson has allowed a run in both appearances, which could open the door for Puk to see some ninth-inning work.

Paul Skenes SP | PIT
Pirates' Paul Skenes: Bounced in sixth inning
Skenes didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out four.
While Skenes' stat line was by no means poor, it was rather lackluster in comparison to what we've come to expect from the rookie. His streak of eight consecutive quality starts came to an end Sunday, and he was pulled after allowing three of the first four batters in the sixth inning to reach safely. Skenes also tied a season high in walks and logged his fewest strikeouts since May 23. Still, the 22-year-old owns a 1.99 ERA with 107 strikeouts in 86.0 innings.

Ryne Nelson SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ryne Nelson: Yields four runs to Pirates
Nelson didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Pittsburgh, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out seven.
Though Nelson didn't allow a home run, three of the six hits against him went for extra bases. The 26-year-old punched out at least seven batters for the third time in four appearances after having done so twice in his first 15 starts. Through 110.1 innings, Nelson has logged a 4.65 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP while compiling an 8-6 record. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Phillies on Friday.

Brenton Doyle CF | CHW
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Goes deep in series finale
Doyle went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Padres.
Doyle was able to knot the game at one in the fourth inning with a solo home run off Matt Waldron on the first pitch he saw. It was his first long ball and first RBI of the month after he was awarded the Player of the Month for the National League in July. Doyle just needs one more home run to become the fifth player this season with at least 20 homers and 20 steals. He's currently slashing .266/.327/.471 with 19 homers, 55 RBI, 62 runs, 21 steals and a 35:115 BB:K in 441 plate appearances.

Jacob Stallings C | BAL
Rockies' Jacob Stallings: Goes deep again Sunday
Stallings went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Padres.
Stallings sent one out to left in the seventh for his second homer in as many games. The 34-year-old has three homers, eight RBI, six runs and a 4:4 BB:K over his last eight games. Stallings has a real chance to reach double-digit homers for the first time in his career. He's now slashing .270/.369/.471 with seven homers, 27 RBI, 23 runs and a 22:42 BB:K in 204 plate appearances.

Masyn Winn SS | STL
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Goes deep in series finale
Winn went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Cubs.
Winn opened up the scoring with a two-run blast off Justin Steele in the third, but the Cardinals would be shut out the rest of the way from there. Wynn now has four homers over his last 10 games and is up to nine total for the season. Seven of his nine homers this season have come against left-handed pitching. The 22-year-old is slashing .279/.325/.414 with 31 extra-base hits, 41 RBI, 50 runs, nine steals and a 29:75 BB:K in 426 plate appearances.

Michael Conforto DH | CHC
Giants' Michael Conforto: Another multi-hit effort
Conforto went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Reds.
Conforto had just three multi-hit games in July, but he's already got two through three contests in August. The outfielder has gone 9-for-32 (.281) across his last 10 contests, adding a home run, four doubles and four RBI in that span. He's up to a .231/.305/.424 slash line, 11 home runs, 20 doubles, 43 RBI, 32 runs scored and no stolen bases over 88 games in 2024.

Tyler Fitzgerald CF | LAD
Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Hammers 11th homer
Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Reds.
Fitzgerald has 10 homers over his last 16 games, including two long balls over three contests in August. He continues to run with the opportunity to be a near-everyday option at shortstop, and it's tough to see him coming out of the lineup often as long as he keeps mashing. For the year, the 26-year-old has a .309/.369/.632 slash line with 11 homers, 23 RBI, 28 runs scored, seven stolen bases, seven doubles and two triples over 50 contests.

LaMonte Wade Jr. LF | HOU
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Clubs homer in three-hit game
Wade went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Reds.
Wade put the Giants ahead with his sixth-inning homer. The first baseman has batted atop the order in his last three games -- he didn't hit leadoff often earlier in the season, as Jung Hoo Lee (knee) was there early in the year and Jorge Soler spent more time there before he was traded to Atlanta. Since the All-Star break, Wade is 8-for-37 (.216) with four walks over 11 contests. He's slashing .294/.417/.407 with four homers, 20 RBI, 33 runs scored and a stolen base over 252 plate appearances, but he's struggled to replicate his strong on-base skills from earlier in the year since returning from a hamstring injury in late June.
