Luis Garcia 1B | NYY
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Sitting against left-hander
Garcia is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.
The left-handed-hitting Garcia has been scorching hot lately, but with lefty Blake Snell on the bump for the Giants, Garcia will begin the contest on the bench. Ildemaro Vargas will take over at second base and bat fifth.

Vidal Brujan SS | NYM
Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Absent from Wednesday's lineup
Brujan is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.
Brujan has now been out of the lineup each of the last three times the Marlins have faced a left-hander. He's started just two games in center field and five of 12 overall since Jazz Chisholm was traded to the Yankees on July 27. Cristian Pache will draw the start in center field Wednesday.

Kyle Stowers 1B | MIA
Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Sitting out versus left-hander
Stowers is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Reds.
Southpaw Andrew Abbott is on the hill for Cincinnati, so the left-handed-hitting Stowers will begin Wednesday's contest on the bench. Stowers has had a rough start to his Marlins career, going 2-for-23 with a 0:12 BB:K. Derek Hill will occupy left field Wednesday.

Nick Fortes C | TB
Marlins' Nick Fortes: Held out of lineup again Wednesday
Fortes (quadricep) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.
Fortes will miss a second straight start after exiting Monday's 10-3 loss with a tight quad. He was available off the bench Tuesday and presumably will be again Wednesday. Ali Sanchez will draw another start at catcher for the Marlins.

Jordan Wicks SP | CHC
Cubs' Jordan Wicks: Cleared for rehab assignment
Wicks (oblique) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Iowa, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Wicks' upcoming appearance with Iowa will be his first since mid-June, when he suffered a Grade 2 right oblique strain in a start against the Cardinals. Given the length of Wicks' absence, he'll likely need at least a couple of rehab outings beyond Saturday's to get fully stretched out, assuming the Cubs still want to keep him in play as an option for the rotation. Though Kyle Hendricks has shown improvement since re-entering the rotation when Wicks went down with the injury, Hendricks is still sporting a 5.05 ERA over his nine starts since mid-June and wouldn't seem to have much security as the club's No. 5 starter.

Tyler Wade SS | TEX
Padres' Tyler Wade: Notches eighth steal
Wade went 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-0 win against Pittsburgh.
Wade was a semi-regular presence in the Padres' lineup at third base for a portion of April while Manny Machado was limited to DH duties, but since the latter returned to the field, Wade has played sporadically. Tuesday marked his first start of the second half, and he did well with the opportunity, registering his first multi-hit game since May 22. Wade has given San Diego speed off the bench with eight steals in nine tries this season, but he's otherwise been a non-factor in fantasy with a .245/.322/.264 slash line, no homers, 21 runs and eight RBI over 121 plate appearances.

Tommy Pham DH | CHW
Cardinals' Tommy Pham: Goes yard in win
Pham went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Rays.
Pham went deep in the second inning, and the Cardinals were able to hold the lead the rest of the way. The outfielder's swinging a hot bat since returning to St. Louis, going 11-for-29 (.379) with six extra-base hits and nine RBI over his last eight games. With Michael Siani (oblique) sidelined, Victor Scott is likely to see most of the time in center field, but Pham should be in the lineup regularly since he can cover all three outfield positions. Pham is slashing .277/.336/.417 with seven homers, 28 RBI, 38 runs scored and six stolen bases over 78 contests this season.

Bryan Hoeing RP | SD
Padres' Bryan Hoeing: Steps up after rain delay
Hoeing (2-2) earned the win over the Pirates on Tuesday, allowing one hit and issuing one walk while striking out three batters over 3.2 scoreless innings.
A lengthy rain delay resulted in Padres starter Dylan Cease being shut down after only one inning, and Hoeing was asked to step in to cover the bulk of the innings in Cease's place. The righty reliever performed well, giving up just a single and a walk while throwing 27 of 45 pitches for strikes over 3.2 scoreless frames. His performance earned him the victory as Pittsburgh was shut out by a combination of six Padres pitchers. Hoeing had a rough final outing of the first half, but he's bounced back with nine scoreless frames since the All-Star break. He's not used often in high-leverage situations but has been a versatile members of San Diego's pitching staff, making two starts and tossing three or more innings on six occasions overall. He's also had eight appearances of one inning or less and has recorded a 2.34 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB overall across 34.2 frames on the campaign.

Cody Bellinger LF | NYY
Cubs' Cody Bellinger: Dealing with hamstring soreness
Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Bellinger is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins due to a sore hamstring, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Bellinger had been relegated to designated-hitter duties over each of the previous eight games following his return from the injured list July 29 while he's still unable to throw at 100 percent as he heals up from a broken middle finger on his left hand. However, it's a different injury that is keeping him on the bench Wednesday. According to Counsell, Bellinger tweaked his hamstring after stepping on first base awkwardly in Tuesday's 7-3 win and hyperextending his knee in the process. The Cubs have a team off day Thursday, and Counsell is hopeful that Bellinger will be good to go for Friday's series opener versus the White Sox after two full days of rest.
